Sponsorships Freedom 55 Financial Open 2016 Kicking off the Mackenzie Tour — PGA TOUR Canada season The Freedom 55 Financial Open, Mackenzie Tour — PGA TOUR Canada’s seasonopening event, kicks off May 23, 2016 at Point Grey Golf and Country Club in Vancouver. Article summary The Mackenzie Tour is a series of tournaments played across Canada each summer — it’s where tomorrow’s stars begin their path to the PGA TOUR. The leading five money winners at the end of each season earn status on the Web.com Tour for the following season. • The Freedom 55 Financial Open, the first event on the Mackenzie Tour — PGA TOUR Canada, runs May 23-29, 2016 at Point Grey Golf and Country Club in Vancouver. “We’re excited to be kicking off the Mackenzie Tour in Vancouver as we continue to support young Canadian athletes as they pursue their aspirations,” said Mike Cunneen, Senior Vice-President, Freedom 55 Financial. “It’s a nice complement to our season-ending Freedom 55 Financial Championship in London, Ontario.” • Mackenzie Tour tournaments have raised more than $1 million for charity since 2013. Freedom 55 Financial also recognizes the top Canadian player at each Mackenzie Tour stop with the Canadian Player of the Week award, and $2,500. The Canadian player of the year, based on order of merit, receives $25,000 at the Freedom 55 Financial Championship. • Funds raised in The Freedom 55 Financial Open Charity Walk go directly to the Canucks for Kids Fund. Mackenzie Tour - PGA TOUR Schedule The Mackenzie Tour delivers a PGA TOUR experience for members, fans, volunteers and partners. In addition to showcasing top up-and-coming players, the tournaments aim to make a positive impact in the communities where they play. In 2015, Mackenzie Tour events generated more than $560,000 for charity and have raised more than $1 million for charity since 2013. Freedom 55 Financial Open Charity Walk The Freedom 55 Financial Open Charity Walk is a three kilometre walk through the beautiful tree-lined Point Grey Golf and Country Club course during the final round on May 29. Funds raised in this Charity Walk go directly to the Canucks for Kids Fund. Freedom 55 Financial Open Charity Walk presented by Global BC The Canucks for Kids Fund dedicates resources to assist charities which support children’s health and wellness, foster the development of grassroots hockey, and facilitate and encourage education in British Columbia. Thanks to the generosity of fans, donors, players, employees and sponsor partners, the Canucks for Kids Fund has granted $50 million to charities in British Columbia over the last 30 years.
