Polymer stainless hybrid PT bearing
Quantum PT
engineers have developed the highest performing bearings in the industry using technologies
originally developed for large turbine aircraft engines. In order to create the smoothest reels found
anywhere, our engineers designed a hybrid bearing utilizing nitrogen-injected stainless steel,
combined with special polymers that shield the bearings to reduce friction and noise, and provide
a carrier which protects each bearing from the elements. These new nitrogen-injected alloys are
stronger and more able to resist pitting and corrosion under extreme stresses.
Saltgard™ 6 layer corrosion protection finish
Working with marine experts, Quantum exclusive Saltgard™ 6-layer finish protects with a dense
molecular barrier on the aluminum, followed by two separate corrosion inhibitors, primer paint,
a base coat and finished with a clear coat for the ultimate protection from the harsh saltwater
environment. Saltgard™ is available on all Quantum PT saltwater products.
Multi-stack ceramic drag
Quantum PT spinning reels feature a
stacked ceramic drag system designed to perform under pressure. The special ceramic coatings
give our drags more consistency and also dissipate heat much more quickly than traditional drag
systems. These ceramic materials reduce drag fatigue by virtually eliminating the heat build up
from long fish runs.
TiMAG® Salt Titanium bail with magnetic trip
Quantum’s legendary TiMAG™ titanium bail wire is made from super-elastic nickel titanium which
is designed to hold its shape no matter what kind of torture you put it through. Besides its flexibility,
it’s also unbreakable, and we guarantee it for the life of the reel.
TiMAG™ also replaces the traditional bail springs with a magnetic system that will never wear out.
Gone are the days of stretched and worn springs that foul at the absolute worst time. Magnets are
permanent, super-tough, and ideal for this application because when the tournament is on the line,
your equipment has to work, and Quantum reels featuring the TiMAG™ system always perform.
You’ll also notice that TiMAG™ offers quicker action and together with our LMS™ Line Management
System it opens 30° wider for better line flow.
MAGLOK™ Continuous Anti-Reverse
Quantum’s exclusive
MAGLOK™ is the industry’s only magnetic roller clutch. A strong magnetic ring replaces traditional
springs for quicker engagement and better corrosion resistance. The integral design, combined with
the industry’s largest rollers, can withstand 2 times the load without deflection, and provide better
cold weather performance than standard roller bearings.

Quantum Accurist Baitcasting Rods
Quantum Accurist rods represent the latest in fishing rod technology combined with blank
actions designed by our engineers that anglers throughout Australia will quickly appreciate.
The blanks are hi-modulus carbon graphite and built using a new and innovative blank making
process. Quantum Accurist rods have been tested to be at least 50% stronger when compared
to other brands carbon graphite rods. All models match perfectly with a wide choice of our
baitcasters including the Tour Edition PT, Energy PTs, Catalyst PTs, Accurist PTs, Cabo PTs and

HOT SAUCE Reel Oil & Grease
In 2001, not satisfied with standard lubrication, Quantum engineers set out to develop a
premium, high performance, lubrication for their high-end reels. Working with several
lubrication scientists, at one of the worlds best custom lubrication companies, they spent
countless hours formulating and testing the best technology had to offer. What they came
up with was a special, proprietary blend of synthetic and organic additives to provide the
ultimate balance in performance, protection, durability, and smoothness in both grease
and oil used for fishing equipment.
Although the formulation is proprietary, some aspects of it can be revealed to inform
the general public. Hot Sauce grease does not have any kind of abrasives or lapping
compound contained in it. The grease does, however, have a fine Teflon powder
suspended in it to improve durability by reducing friction and wear. Teflon is a common
additive used in lubrication. There is no such thing as Teflon based grease, as some
people claim. All solid matter has a certain degree of surface roughness regardless of
how smooth or how polished it is. The Teflon in Hot Sauce is formulated in such a way as
to fill-in any roughness. The super slick nature of Teflon used in this manner provides
unparalleled smoothness and durability. It is possible to see these Teflon particles with a
good eye or microscope.
Other unique aspects of this proprietary formulation include: great adhesion to parts
caused by the physical and bonding properties of the formulation, additives for superior
corrosion protection in saltwater, and long life and durability by protecting the base oil
from aging.
Due to all the additives and complexity of the formulation process, Hot Sauce is not
the cheapest lubrication one can find. In fact, Quantum engineers had a difficult time
implementing this in production because of its high cost.
Quantum Hot Sauce can be used in any product, spinning, baitcast, trolling, or spincast
with great success. Thousands of people have reaped the benefits of Hot Sauce outside
of fishing products as well, like in the home and shop. The formulation makes it good
for many applications where there are moving parts, wear, noise, and/or corrosion
issues. The versatility of Hot Sauce makes it well suited for all freshwater and saltwater
applications regardless of style or brand of reel.
