The Thalgo Group
Founded in 1964, the company’s initial aim was to manufacture algae-based products
for the medical field. In 1968, the THALGO brand was registered and from the beginning
of the 70s, the company supplied the leading thalassotherapy centers with micronized
marine algae.
Today, THALGO has become the uncontested name in the world of “Marine Beauty”: the
company creates, manufactures and markets treatments, cosmetic products and
marine-based nutritional supplements in more than 90 countries, for thalassotherapy
centers, spas and resorts.
Headquartered in the south-east of France in Roquebrune-sur-Argens
(the Var region), THALGO is a group in full expansion, with a turnover of $77 million, 450
employees, 15 companies (3 of which are subsidiaries), 2 laboratories, 2 integrated
production units and more than 20,000 outlets across the world.
A socially engaged Group and respectful of the environment, THALGO continuously
reinforces its environmentally friendly practices. Firstly, it advocates the protection of
marine environments in supporting the “Marine Conservation Society”, as well as
investing in solar panels which help reduce CO2 emissions, and implementing an ecofriendly Formulation Charter for the development of its products.
In 2008, the Group put in place specific beauty training for the visually impaired in its
School.
All these environmental and social practices make the group a responsible and
engaged player in Sustainable Beauty.
