Filtration systems
Filtration systems
C) PRRS filter element
Practical examples
The PRRS filter element is a
system that is used in vacuum systems.
It can be used with individual and
multi-compartment stables. With
fresh air ceiling inlets the fresh air
is guided via the roof cavity, and
with fresh air wall inlets it is guided
via corridors. As such, the PRRS filter element is suitable for new and
retrofit installations.
After filtration, the fresh air is guided through the PRRS filter element
via wall or ceiling fresh air inlets
into the compartment.
•High reduction rates with PRRS
viruses of >95%
•Long service life
•Easy to assemble
•Suitable for combination with
fresh air inlets
•Integrates well into existing ventilation concepts

Boar stable in Russia for 170 breeding boars
Economical virus protection through innovative fresh air filter systems:
The stable has a size of 24 x 59 m. The fresh air is initially guided via 4 PRRS fresh air
modules and subsequently via 8 fresh air distributors into the stable. 2 fresh air distributors with a diameter of Ø 920 mm are installed per PRRS filter cabin.

This project encompasses 5 buildings. These buildings are divided up into the following
areas: Fertilisation, holding area, farrowing area, piglet raising and fattening. 2 stables
have been fitted with 4 PRRS fresh air modules each and 3 stables have been fitted with
5 PRRS fresh air modules each. The stable air is optimally channelled outside by means
of individual extraction via 20 exhaust air ducts with a diameter of ø 920 mm and 38
exhaust air ducts with a diameter of ø 600 mm.
Conclusion:

In the reproductive system the disease manifests itself in miscarriages
around the time of normal farrowing.
It can lead to an increase in the birth
of dead or weak piglets. A wave of infection is frequently also followed by
an increase in the recurrence of oestrus among sows.

The PRRS virus is capable of damaging the defence cells in the lungs. This
consequently allows other pathogens
drawn in with inhaled air (such as influenza, pasteurella, APP, mycoplasma) to spread throughout the lungs
unhindered.
It can be used with individual and multi-compartment stables. The roof cavity
or fresh air ducts (VC pipe system) are
used as a fresh air corridor. As such,
the PRRS filter module is suitable for
new and retrofit installations. The fresh
air supply to the compartment is usually realised via fresh air ceiling inlets.

PRRS is the abbreviation for Porcine
Respiratory and Reproductive Syndrome. This is a disease in pigs that
affects both the respiratory and the
reproductive system.

With the newly developed fresh air
filter system »AirProTec«® a fresh
air system has been developed by
REVENTA®, which filters up to 95% of
PRRS pathogens from the fresh air
according to investigations carried out
by the University of Leipzig.
This fresh air filtering system is available in multiple versions. Find the right
system for you:
Functionality: If the differential pressure or the condition of the AirProTec®
filter changes then an error message
appears on the display and the signal
lamp switches from green to red.

PRRS viruses
with respect to pathogen infection
has been placed on transmission via
sperm or direct contact with infected animals. However, it has become
increasingly apparent that airborne
transferral is also a significant factor.
A PRRSV infection is frequently followed by extended viraemic phases
and persistent infections, which lead
to a high risk of infection among affected stocks. An investigation found
that economic damage arising from
PRRSV infections in the USA alone
results in losses valued at half a billion dollars.
For this reason, air filters have been in
use in the USA for a number of years
now. These prevent the virus from
entering pig stocks in regions with a
high stocking density. The risk of reinfection can be reduced by 80% with
these types of fresh air filter systems.
A)PRRS filter module is generally used
with overpressure-based fresh air
guidance. This system is equipped
with an integrated pad cooling system and offers a high degree of operational assurance due to the fully
automatic leak-tightness control.
B)PRRS filter cassette and
C)PRRS filter element variants stand
out due to the low investment costs,
straightforward installation and ease
of adaptability to existing systems.
