Opposite the restaurant is the Maniam Cooperative Store which also supplies daily dry and wet provisions. Jeriau Waterfall From the entrance, the trail to Jeriau Waterfall is spacious and well paved, following the river's edge past gazebos, benches, camp sites and small playgrounds for children. After a five to eight minute walk, the path breaks to a steep descent by steps to the main falls. Here, the waterfall drops over several tiers of boulder outcrops, but only the last fall is visible from the thick greenery. This cascade feeds into a large but shallow pool dammed by concrete to hold the receding banks, but the waters can become very muddy after heavy rainfall. Several gazebos provide picnic spots around the waterfall, while restrooms can be found at the distant corner next to the steps. Allan's Water - Boating Allan's Water is a small lake that was turned into a park for recreational activities and paddle boating from a reservoir that fell into disuse over the years. Surrounding the lake are thick droves of trees and shrubs that emit a natural calm over the environment. Birds fluttering among the tree tops are common sights, along with the occasional squirrel and monkey. Near the entrance, a pier occupies the immediate water's edge, with a large gazebo for visitors to relax under its shade and feed the colourful fishes which congregate below. Another gazebo can be found after the pier, with a small square with concrete benches. For the main activity, paddle boats can be rented from the ticket counter. Each boat fits two occupants - the waters of the lake are still and safe, allowing visitors to enjoy the calm and serenity of the lush greenery. Bird Interpretive Center – Bird Watching Bird Interpretive Center is a gallery on local and migratory bird species recorded from Fraser's Hill, housed within the Sports Complex opposite Puncak Inn Hotel at the town roundabout. The center is open on weekends from 10am to 7pm. On weekdays, visitors may request the Puncak Inn staff to open its doors. Dedicated to bird watching, one of Fraser's Hill's most popular tourist and visitor activities, over 250 species of birds have been recorded here, including hornbills, doves, pheasants, eagles and other endemic species. During certain seasons, migratory birds from Russia, Japan and China visit Fraser's Hill to escape freezing winters and find pasture. The Paddock Horse Riding The Paddock is an equestrian center for horse-riding activities in Bukit Fraser. Located along Valley Road just before the Glen Bungalow roundabout, visitors can ride retired racing horses around a small course (guided by the keeper) at cheap rates. Besides the track, a small garden area with benches provides a nice resting spot for admire the surrounding greenery, lined with majestic conifer trees. Archery Also located here is an archery range at the bottom of the slope near the entrance. The Paddock opens from 9am till 4pm daily (break for lunch in afternoon) except for Saturdays and public holidays where it closes at 5pm. Gasing - Spinning Top Gasing is a traditional game of spinning tops, usually played by children in local villages during their free time. At Bukit Fraser, visitors can try their hand at this easy game at a small complex along Jalan High Pines for cheap rates. Here, the game is played on a flat but slightly sandy court housed underneath a large gazebo. The 'Gasing', made from wood, is made to spin on its axis with a sharp pull of the string - the top that rotates the longest time wins in a match with other tops wins. Facing the court is a small watchtower that visitors can climb for a view of the plants, trees and other surroundings - Jelai Bungalow is directly at the back of this complex. Golf - Sports Complex The Royal Fraser's Hill Golf Club is one of the oldest courses in the country, situated right in the center of this highland resort destination at town. This 9-hole walking course may be small, but it offers several challenging sections along with beautiful surrounding forest scenery. Fraser's Hill Development Corporation operates the public course; the reception counter for golfing is located next to the entrance of the Sports Complex opposite the clock tower. Here, a small cafe with terrace view can also be found for convenient tea and snacks. To get around the course, golfers have to move around on foot as buggies are not available. Mimi Strawberi Restaurant Mimi Strawberi is a restaurant within the Sports Complex of town, nestled along the veranda with a view facing the golf course. Formerly in Food Garden, Mimi Strawberi now enjoys a strategic location facing the town roundabout, with a loyal following of local residents flocking through all seasons. The restaurant's name is a combination of 'Mimi', the lass from Tioman who operates the eatery, and her signature strawberry milk shakes and ice blended drinks from the menu. The restaurants serves an eclectic range of Malay hawker stall cuisine, including Tom Yam, Nasi Paprik, Sup Tulang, Mi Bandung, Banjo Burger and local versions of Western food dishes. Clock Tower The little township of Fraser's Hill evokes images of an English village in the countryside, only surrounded by dense rainforest instead of grassy meadows, and blanketed by heavy mist and frequent drizzles. This little England is full of charming sights and sounds - when the sun's rays get through on a clear day, the landscapes around town are imbued with a radiant glow - truly refreshing and a reward for visitors to have endured the long journey up through twisty hills. The charming clock tower is the starting point for all explorations in Bukit Fraser, tapering off to different directions across the valley from a large roundabout. Pine Tree Hill Trail Pine Tree Hill is a 1,500 meter high mountain that sits in Bukit Fraser. The trail head can be accessed near the end of the High Pines road, just after Seri Intan. The trail is about 5.5 km long, and it remains the most challenging and toughest trekking path in Fraser's Hill. The name is inspired by the coniferous plants that used to dot the peak. Of special note were five endemic conifer species of dacrydiums, which have all but disappeared from the peak today. The trail winds up and down across several tops and ridges before hitting the peak. The view from the peak is a panoramic vista of the surrounding landscape of forests and mountains on clear days. Hemmant Trail Hemmant Trail begins from a grass clearing behind the mosque area along Genting road, just opposite the Abu Suradi trail head. It's an easy 1 km trail with a moderate ascent for the first quarter and level for the rest. The hike skirts along the edges of the Fraser's Hill Golf Course (designed by Frank Hemmant, whom trail is named after) and behind Silverpark Apartments, passing by trees, ferns and shrubs, some not native but planted from outside. Towards the last quarter, the trek becomes slightly muddy; leeches may be present, especially after rainfall. Visitors will exit at the paved road just before it forks towards Muar Cottage at left and Glen Bungalow at right. Kuala Kubu Bharu (KKB Shopping) Kuala Kubu Bharu is a charming little town at the foothills of Bukit Fraser. Also known as 'KKB' by locals, the town housed a fortress built by warring Sultans during a period of civil war before falling into colonial hands. Getting there is easy for visitors travelling to Fraser's Hill from the North-South Highway route or Rawang, located along the access route about 30km away from the Gap. Framed by a backdrop of rainforest and hills, heritage shop houses from colonial days mingle alongside clusters of traditional houses - Life here is unhurried, pleasant and peaceful, unfettered by the constraints of modern living and conveniences. Walking around town and admiring its architectural landscape, little has changed from the colonial era in pace of life. Some of the tourist attractions in town include an art gallery, golf course, Chinese temples and historical sites, while Sungai Selangor Dam and Sungai Chilling Waterfall lie in the outskirts.
