The organization has promoted the interests of nature photography and its members on a range of topics including: Copyright and intellectual property rights of photographers, most recently through a class action filed against Google regarding the Google Books project Photographer rights for parks and public lands including working with the US Fish and Wildlife, National Park Service and US Forest Service Drone photography regulation Photographer ethics NANPA’s support of conservation and the environment through photography can be found in: Member projects Bio blitz / photo swarm through NANPA’s Meetup program Awareness through photography supporting critical habitat and species preservation EXAMPLE: Code of Ethics for Nature Photographers A recent article in an online journal laments what the author describes as a new era of overzealous, trigger-happy wildlife photographers who are willing to harass a tigress and her cubs in hopes of getting that magical shot. The author suggests that what society needs is a code of conduct — a list of dos and don’ts for photographers as they attempt to capture the natural world. NANPA has had such a code of conduct from its very earliest years — the Code of Ethical Field Practices. The organization has maintained a strong commitment to ethical practices in wildlife and nature photography and to the preservation of our natural environment. NANPA 6382 Charleston Rd.
