These machines include cable track applications, populated with cables subject to enormous stress from these fast moving, demanding installations. Lucas Kehl, a product manager at Lapp USA, Inc. describes challenges of these high-dynamic applications and explains the design considerations for robust, reliable electrical cables. To meet these new application requirements, both the design and the material selection play an important role. In this emerging use for industrial machines, there are many considerations in order to deliver a reliable, robust electrical connection for increased durability, less space requirements, reduced weight and reduced minimum bending radius.
