> 01 Design and Development
Planning and preparation of the mechanical and electrical design is undertaken
by a team of highly experienced designers. They design complex machines,
strip feeding lines and control units; our production capability is supported
through partnerships with specially selected engineering companies.

Our CNC-controlled production machinery can produce parts economically
within the required tolerances. Around 50 per cent of our products are produced
at SOPREM, so that we achieve high flexibility throughout the planning and
management of our production.

Our large assembly workshop allows the installation and testing of largedesigned systems. Mechanical and electrical installation is undertaken by

> 01 Strip feeding lines
SOPREM builds strip feeding lines which include decoiling, straightening
and feeding of strips up to a width of 600 mm and a thickness of up to
11 mm. These units can be obtained in long and short versions. This fully
developed technique increases strip speeds and the productivity of your
machine.
> 02 Accumulating lines
Our linear and parallel accumulators are suitable to feed pipe production
installations as well as galvanic coating plants and colour coating plants.
We optimize your production process with tailor-made solutions.
> 03 Cut-to-length lines
Wire and strip cutting units made by SOPREM include integrated straighteners, lateral positioning systems, hydraulic cutting scissors and piling systems. Our range of products includes flexible machinery for strip and wire
processing with short changeover times from strip to wire feeding.

We build strip and wire respoolers with precise coil or spool rewinding.
We offer multiple solutions including a fully automatic babycoil exchange

> 05 Transverse strip cutting lines
The transverse strip cutting lines for the production of boards made of highstrength steel include an integrated precision straightening unit with lateral
positioning of the strip. This enables continuous transverse cutting and ensures
length precision and flatness of the parts.
> 06 Strip welding lines
Strips are economically joined with our strip welding machines. They reduce
changeover times and avoid dangerous punching processes during coil exchange.

We build part levellers and lines for economic straightening of uneven parts. Our
production range covers several grades of automation. Straightening tests are
carried out in our laboratory or by means of a test machine in your facilities.

Strip decoiling and strip coiling

The decoilers for vertical decoiling are
often equipped with a precision coil
mandrel with central adjustable strip
tension, recommended when using
thin and narrow strips to protect the
strip edges.
SOPREM’s smallest decoilers are
suitable for a max. coil weight of
30 kg and 100 kg respectively. Several
thousands of these are used all over
the world, especially in the watchmaking and small electronic components industries. We also offer a wide
range of options, e.g. different loop
controls, paper decoiling and rewinding as well as double decoilers.

Decoiler-rewinder for a max. coil weight of 1,500 kg
or 2,500 kg, including precision coil mandrel with
central coil tension. We also offer options such as
different drive systems, pressure arms and various
loop controls.

Cradle decoiler for a max. coil weight of 200 or
500 kg, including two shafts, which can be equipped
with abrasion resistant rubber. The spool is placed
on the powered shafts. A strip straightener can be
added as an option.

Decoiler-rewinder for a max. coil weight of 30 kg,
including coil mandrel and additional paper decoilerrewinder. This version is especially suitable to
rewind pre-punched strips. The decoiler is often
used in the production of small electrical components and in the watch-making industry.

Double decoiler with a max. load weight of 200,
500 and 1,250 kg, enabling coil handling to be
significantly reduced. Small decoilers for 30 kg and
100 kg can also be supplied as double decoilers.
Larger decoilers can be supplied upon request.

Decoiler-rewinder for a max. coil weight of 100 kg,
including precision coil mandrel with central coil
tension. The loop is controlled by a capacity sensor.
The decoiler is used to decoil thin, narrow strips
and is often used in the production of small electrical components and in the watch-making industry.

Triple pallet decoiler with fine adjustable strip pull
is suitable for decoiling thin, narrow strips. Our
product range comprises single, double and triple

Strip straightening and part levelling

More and more often the punching industry uses a motorized strip straightener in front of the press. Straightening conserves tools thereby producing
more accurate components. As the
strip is fed over the loop into the roller
feed without any pulling force, higher
production rates can be achieved.
Part levellers can be used with lasers.
The parts cut out by laser must often
be straightened afterwards. SOPREM
has acquired the Schubert-straightening-program and offers a wide
product range.
Straightening tests:
Tests are carried out prior to any machine purchase, we determine the
correct straightener size and the most
suitable straightening geometry.

leveller can be inclined longitudinally and transversally, enabling straightening of strips with wavy
edges. The lower part of the leveller can be pulled

straightener is used for straightening coil curving.

Strip decoiling, straightening and feeding

If there is insufficient space in your
workshop, you will find the solution
in the compact design of SOPREM
equipment. We combine the decoiler
with the straightener to a strip feeding
system. Optionally the straightener
can be equipped with an integrated
feed. This compact design allows you
to easily incorporate the equipment in
a cut-to-length line or in a strip feeding system. The loop between the
straighter and the press is not necessary in this system.
The compact designs of SOPREM
equipment are becoming more and
more popular, as they allow optimum
use of production space.

Decoiling-straightening machine equipped with
a decoiler and precision leveller with 19 straightening rolls. The upper part of the leveller can be
inclined longitudinally and transversally enabling

Decoiling, straightening and feeding unit equipped
with decoiler, loop cabinet, strip gripper and

After the straightener, the strip is fed directly into
the press. The strip loop can be omitted.
Roller feeder type WV

Roller feeder with high precision can easily be
retrofitted to the press. This roller feeding series
ensures high feeding rates with precision positioning. The hardened, ground feeding rolls can also
be hard chromium plated.

Decoiling-straightening machine equipped with a
decoiler, inserting table, straightener and conveyor
table. This compact unit enables feeding of strips
of a max. width of 300 mm and a thickness of
5 mm. A loop is necessary between the straightener and the press.

double decoiler and a straightener with 9 straightening rolls. The double decoiler is equipped with
2 precision coil mandrels, for a max. coil weight of
1,000 kg. The upper part of the straightener can

Strip welding and strip accumulating

Strip feeding lines and strip accumulators are necessary because of the
high production requirements in compound pipe production. Non-stop production places the highest demands
on the reliability of the strip accumulator
and the welding unit. If the first strip
end welding fails, the strip accumulator
needs to have sufficient material for
the second weld.
SOPREM builds this equipment to
highest quality standards meeting all
the requirements of a 24 / 7 non-stop
production.

Wire decoiling, straightening and cut to length

Modern production companies automate wire feedings with decoilers,
straightening-feeding systems and
cut-to-length lines.
While decoiling larger diameter wires
used in the production of connecting
elements, the wire spring back must
be compensated for. For this, we recommend the decoiler with loop arm
and spring compensation system.
Wires with a very thin diameter, used
in the production of small draft or
compression springs, loop controls
with very low wire loads are necessary.
SOPREM can supply wire decoilers
equipment for both requirement producing improved productivity.
