We are here in Sport, to compete and make new friends. To test each other and enjoy the company. The fishing here is some of the best Europe can offer, and I know that it will take a strong team to win. Whether you win or not take pride in representing your Country. To get this far as a Team has shown your ability. Enjoy your visit, and maybe you can be tempted to return. FIPS-M has granted the Irish Federation of Sea Anglers this prestigious event which will take place in County Wexford from the 12th of November until the 19th of November 2016. The IFSA invite you to come and enjoy our hospitality in Wexford. The venues will be the East and South coast of County Wexford. These venues are a short drive from our head quarters in Clayton Whites Hotel in Wexford. The county is located in the south-east corner of the island of Ireland. It is bounded by the sea on two sides—on the south by the Atlantic Ocean and on the east by St. George's Channel and the Irish Sea. The Rosslare Europort Ferry is an extremely convenient way for international visitors to access Wexford. You can also visit Baginbun Beach (where the Normans landed in 1169) or the oldest lighthouse in Europe, on Hook Peninsula. There are several excellent golf courses throughout County Wexford. The Blackstairs Mountains are ideal for climbing and walking. Angling and canoeing are popular activities in this County. The town is linked to Dublin by the M11/N11 National Primary Route, and the national rail network. Venues: The East coast venues are shallow sandy beaches with patches of gravel to the South the beaches are steeper with a mixture of sand and gravel patches. From Dublin / Dublin Airport Distance: 153KM Time by car/ taxi: 2 hours Driving from Dublin: Follow the M50 to the M11. Continue on the M11 to the N11 which will lead onto Abbey Street Approaching the town from the N11 at the New Ross roundabout take the first exit onto the R769 passing Wexford Racecourse and Wexford General Hospital Entering the town, turn right onto Belvedere Road, with an immediate left turn onto Davitt Road Turn left on to St John’s Road. Continue onto Upper Georges Street Turn right onto Abbey Street and Clayton Whites Hotel is on your left. The underground car park is situated on the left, adjacent to the building. Driving from Rosslare Europort Head northeast. At the roundabout, take the 2nd exit onto N25 At Ashfield Cross roundabout, take the 1st exit and stay on N25 At the roundabout, take the 2nd exit onto Rosslare Rd/R730 Continue to follow R730. Turn left onto Common Quay St Common Quay St turns slightly left and becomes Cornmarket Destination will be on the right Parking There is ample car parking at Clayton Whites Hotel with 250 underground car parking spaces which have direct internal access to the main hotel lobby. Once a fish is 15 CM or over, the length will be rounded up to the next full number. (eg a flounder of 19.5 CM will be rounded up to 20CM and will get 20 points for its length plus 10 fish points a total of 30 points) Lesser Spotted Dogfish will be awarded set points 45CM plus 10 fish points a total of 55 points. Fresh Water Eels will be awarded set points 30CM plus 10 fish points a total of 40 points. Each national organisation is accountable for the data entered for their teams and shall provide that all members of the team produce a medical certificate as proof of their fitness to take part in the competition. 2. A medical certificate will be accepted provided it is stamped by a competent doctor and is written in one of the official languages of CIPS. The organiser will have medical staff available for the duration of the competition. Should a national organisation fail to comply with 1 and or 2 above, the organiser will commission a medical doctor to issue the medical / fitness certificates at the expense of the competitors or their national organisation. Please note all current FIPS-M anti-doping processes will be strictly adhered to at the Championships.
