Ted Baker`s Garden
Baker’s Garden’s 2016 PRICE LIST All of our plants are grown on our farm and dug fresh, just for you!! We know how they grow in the garden. Ted & Sonja Baker Salt Spring Island, BC V8K 1Z7 250 653-4430 [email protected] Welcome to our garden! A selection of new cultivars have been added throughout the Price List. They are flagged by an *Name in bold and italicized. Please feel free to wander around and enjoy the various plantings. Not all plants that for sale are listed in the Price List, so ask if there is something you are interested in. We will try to answer any questions about performance and culture. Don't forget to bring your camera! The Gardens will be open for viewing Friday and Saturday each week throughout May and the first two weeks of June. Come and select your favorites or just enjoy. Plants ordered can be picked up at our farm from July 18th to August 20th or in Victoria or Duncan or by other arrangements. Peonies and poppies are dug after mid September. Plants will be mailed if requested. Cost of mailing plants will be Canada Post’s fee which includes mailing, surcharges and taxes. Two dollars will be added to cost of orders picked up in Victoria or Duncan to cover ferry costs. We have an extensive collection of Bearded, Siberian, and other Irises which include older favorites plus exciting recent introductions. Most varieties of bearded iris are fragrant so don't forget to 'smell the irises'! Plants are guaranteed to be the variety bought. If you get the wrong plants they will be replaced and included with your next order. How to order: Each cultivar is identified by a name stake in front of the plant. Check to make sure the plant matches the description in the Price List. The height of the plant will help you locate it in the List. Fill out the Order Form and leave it at the farm, mail or e-mail it to me. No payment is due until you get the plants. Please make cheques payable to Ted Baker. Thank you to all our valued customers and loyal supporters. We hope you enjoyed visiting our farm and please call if you have any questions. American Iris Society (AIS) Awards Each year the AIS recognizes outstanding irises in each type. Out of hundreds of irises introduced each year, only a limited number will receive awards. After introduction a cultivar must prove itself for three years to win an Honourable Mention (HM), and an additional two years to receive an Award of Merit (AM). Only winners of the various types are eligible to compete for the Dykes Medal (DM), the highest award which may be awarded to only one iris each year. FREE IRISES!! Become a new member of the British Columbia Iris Society [BCIS] [$15.00 individual; $16.00 family] and receive free bearded iris with your order worth more than the cost of membership . Check out the BCIS website at www.bcirissociety.com Contact Ted for more information. Note: names listed in *Italics with an * are NEW to the Price List this year.
