Not all routes are open to all vehicles. Follow the Motor Vehicle Use Maps (MVUMs) and signage for the area and ride only on trails open to and wider than your off-highway vehicle (OHV). Almost all trails in Colorado are subject to seasonal restrictions and closures. Call the responsible agency before making plans to ride an area. All unlicensed vehicles operated on public lands in the State of Colorado must obtain a registration or permit from the OHV Registration Program administered by Colorado State Parks, including those of non-residents. Registration information is available at staythetrail.org/parks. The Sound Issue - Keep it Down! Excessive sound from ATVs and dirt bikes has become one of the biggest threats to off-highway vehicle (OHV) use. Fortunately sound can be moderated. Sound levels quoted are maximums allowed by law. ■ 96dB(A) if manufactured after 1/1/1998. Red Feather Lakes Spark Arrestors Forest Service approved spark arrestors are required on ALL public lands. Experience negotiating large rocks is essential. Located a few miles northwest of Boulder, this OHV area provides numerous 4x4 and singletrack trails of varied difficulty.
