SEAMAN SAUCE SHORTAGE LIFTED
Seaman sauce lovers were bracing for the worst
this winter as Crabby Dick, the producer of
Seaman Sauce, announced he was ceasing
operations, at least temporarily.
Crabby was ordered to cease production of his
tasty sauce by Anita Dick after neighbors
complained that the noises from the Dick
household were affecting their sleeping. This
caused a major hiccup in the bottling and
distribution supply chain that's had Seaman
sauce fans hoarding bottles and even making
their own Seaman Sauce.
Though it is possible for others to produce their
own Seaman Sauce, Crabby's sauce is by far the
best selling and the tastiest. Once found only in
crabby Dick's restaurants, the sauce's popularity
has surged in the last few years and has become
mainstream condiment available to take home.
Crabby Dick's has plans for food products such
as candy canes, beef jerky, and even lip balm to
be infused with the saucy condiment.
"We're finding that the American palate is
evolving and consumers are seeking bigger,
bolder flavors. For many Americans, Seaman
Sauce is their new go-to condiment, adding the
tangy, spicy sauce on everything from balls to
burgers," says Ophelia Dick, Chief Flavor
Architect at Crabby Dick's.
When the anticipated shortage was announced,
the social media sphere lit up with the hashtag
#seamansauce_apocalypse and aficionados
began hording bottles of the sauce. Fortunately,
for seaman sauce fanatics, Crabby Dick says the
shortage was only temporary and the sauce is
already bottled and back on the shelves.
Many fans of the sauce resorted to replicating
the sauce in their own homes during the drought.
The homemade Seaman-like sauces tend to
have less depth in flavor and less tang than the
original (though the experience can work up a
sweat -- do it on a day when it's warm enough
to open your windows if you don't have a good
ventilation system).
Rest assured, the Seaman sauce shortage has
been put to rest for all. We can now delight in
the mysterious flavors we have grown to love
on our balls, fries, burgers and whatever floats
your boat.
This reporter thanks the tireless efforts of
Crabby Dick to maintain the level of
production necessary to keep the world in
Seaman Sauce for a long time to come.

CRABBY LAYS DOWN THE RULES, HON !
After much deliberation and contemplation,
Crabby Dick, under the direction of old
Grandpa Dick has released the rules for guests
to follow at his infamous crab shack. The much
anticipated delivery of such rules arrived
without the traditional pomp and circumstance
of which Crabby has relegated himself. When
asked why presentation of “The Rules” arrived
in this manner, Anita Dick reported she was
way too busy cooking up crabcakes to plan the
event. “And as ya all know, a she-crab’s work
is never done!”
So with no further ado (not sure what “ado”is
but anyway) here are “The Rules”
Crabby dick’s keeps spreading thru Delaware
Reports that Crabby Dick’s is spreading
throughout Delaware have been circulating
through the First State.
Upon further
investigation, it has been determined that indeed
the Crabby Dick’s has doubled in size during the
last ten years in Delaware. Although relatively
new to the Blue Hen State, Crabby Dick’s has
always been well known by the local folk in
Bawlmer (Baltimore). The tale of Crabby Dick
has been told for generations:
Ever since he was just a little Dick, Crabby
roamed the cobblestoned streets of Fells Point,
itching to create his own legacy. As Crabby got
bigger, he knew he had to find his mate. There
was only one she-crab for Crabby and her name
was Anita. Anita was also well kown by the local
sailors that came into the port. You see, Anita
had been “around The Block” and was looking
for a jimmy to call her own. As fate would have
it (plus Crabby baiting Anita with some juicy
chicken necks), Crabby and Anita were wed and
the Dick Family Tree was rooted.
Soon there were little Dicks all over Fells Point.
Crabby and Anita had three sons, Harry Dick,
Seymour Dick and Hoss Dick and one daughter,
Candy Dick. Candy later became famous for her
“Homemade Candy Dick Suckers” that once you
start sucking you can’t stop until you reach the

stick. So Crabby had his family but still needed
his legacy.
Crabby asked his cousin, Curly Dick (who by
the way has the best balls on Broadway
especially when dipped in his secret recipe
Seaman Sauce), how he could create the
Crabby Dick Legacy. Curly just shrugged his
claws and kept dipping his balls. Then an idea
hit Crabby, like a mallet cracking his shell
(OUCH), Crabby would seek wisdom from the
wisest Dick of all, Hung Lo Dick of the Far East
(Eastern Shore, that is).
Hung Lo Dick was very old and very wise. He
advised Crabby, “To create a legacy, you must
live a good life, treat all people with the respect
that you expect for yourself and wear your
name proudly. When you achieve this, you will
achieve your legacy.”
Crabby thanked Hung Lo for his wisdom and
thought long and hard about what the old crab
had said. “…..and wear your name proudly.”
And it finally came to him…T-Shirts. That was
the answer to creating his legacy. Crabby
printed up shirts with “Maryland is for Crabby
Dick’s” and gave them to everyone he knew.
Soon you could see Crabby Dick’s everywhere.

Meanwhile, back at the Dick house in Fells
Point. People were coming from miles away to
see Crabby Dick. Of course, Mama Dick had
to feed all these weary travelers so she started
cooking up her dee-li-cious Crab Cakes and
Curly’s Crab Balls. Thus, the first Crabby
Dick’s restaurant came to be.
The invasion of the Dick’s to Delaware came
without warning as ten years ago Crabby
longed to be close to the salt air and ocean
breezes of Rehoboth Beach. (Tax-Free at that)
In Rehoboth Beach, they all loved the Dick’s.
So much so, that the Dick’s could not whip up
enough of their homemade Seaman Sauce and
had to begin bottling it up and selling by the
jar. With the success Crabby felt at the beach,
he decided to service all the folks in Delaware
at both ends of the state by taking over an old
tavern and inn in Delaware City just north of
the canal.
The spreading of Crabby Dick’s throughout
Delaware has been met with great joy and
celebration for the people of Delaware. It is
unknown how far the Crabby Dick’s will
spread but one can only hope that one day we
will see a Dick Nation !
