THE FASHION TREND
Every fashion style reappears sooner or later!
This season, designers are paying tribute to
the style-defining decade of the 1980s.
The new wave
The more outrageous, the better!
The cheerful combination of colours and patterns from the 80s
found its inspiration in graffiti artwork. Shirts with graphic shapes
were an absolute must-have back
then and they are a sight for sore
eyes now – for example by the
French label FA Concept.

The icon
The uncontested Queen of Pop,
Madonna, turned the look of neon
leggings, graffiti prints and broad
shoulder padding into a total trend
– and left her mark on the fashion
of the entire decade.

Cocktail dresses
It was the decade of glamorous evening wear. In
shimmering cocktail dresses, women danced the
night away and dreamed of the world of the bold
and beautiful. American TV shows turned opulence and the luxury look into a worldwide trend.
So who can blame us for welcoming its comeback?
Just looking at this gleaming evening dress by the
fashion label Weise makes it almost impossible to
wait for the next festive event!

Heather Locklear
A star across
decades
1988
Rock on
Laced boots, a tight pencil skirt and
a black biker jacket – at the age of
27, this blonde was totally on-trend
with her rocked-out style, which
was a perfect match to her husband
back then, rock musician Tommy
Lee.
The US American actress
Heather Locklear already
proved her instinct for
trends in the Eighties. Her
biker look is having more
than a fashion moment this
season. Now 51 years old,
she presently radiates on
the red carpet attired in a
more elegant look without
having given up one ounce
of her confident self!

Living
BORN IN THE EIGHTIES
Video killed the radio star … and things did not stop there – the 80s ushered
in tons of ground-breaking developments!!
Music to watch
The channel MTV went
on the air in 1981 in the
USA and aired in Europe
in 1987.
Chomp away
The arcade and video game “Pac-Man”
was released in July, 1980 in Japan. It is
tough not to love something so simple:
the round yellow fellow has to gobble
up points in a labyrinth while being
followed by ghosts.
A decade of
contrasts
At the beginning of the 1980s, punk spread
across the entire world while the term yuppies
also surfaced for the first time. Punks with
a more left-wing approach on one side and
conservative business people on the other
– it hardly gets more contradictory than that!
Music to go
In the year 1979,
the first Walkman
was launched by
Sony. It then quickly
became a status
symbol in the Eighties
and was adopted as
a sign of a new way
of life by the youth
of that decade.

Home technology
On August 12th 1981,
the first computer from
IBM was made available to
private customers. Instead
of a hard drive, it came
with one or two floppy disc
drives. It was the beginning
of a development that has
made advancements such
as online shops possible!

Be brilliant
Elegant bronze, glittering silver or
a shimmering gold enchant with a
glamorous look
Worthy of a medal! Magical metallic tones add a particularly extravagant touch to your spring and summertime nails.
Whether in pale or dark nuances, shiny micro pigments in
the nail polish provide a glossy and long-wearing finish.
If the metallic effects are not yet bling
enough for you, simply apply additional
layers after allowing the first to dry.
The
perfect
match
Nail polishes in metallic tones add an
extra touch of glamour to casual outfits.
Wear the polish for example with a
rocked-out (leather) jacket, boots and a
long tunic or blouse along with skinny-fit
jeans. For more elegant events, the metallic trend looks its best combined with
a black blazer, a pencil skirt and heeled
shoes.

Tender moments

Become a softie! Gentle colours are
pleading to be taken out on your
nails this season.
The docile counter-trend to bright colour blocking:
discreet pastel tones! The collection of colours ranges
from sweet rose to pale lilac and all the way to fresh
mint – welcome to bonbon land! To make sure that
the sugary nuances really pop, apply two to three layers
of polish and let them dry thoroughly. For an extra
glossy finish, add a clear top-coat with three narrow,
vertical swipes of the brush and your nails are ready to
take on the world in their sweetened summery hues!
Pastel colours quite simply work for every event: be it
combined with an elegant gown, a summer dress or
just with your favourite jeans – there is no going wrong
with powdery nuances! Are you more of a neon fan?
Then accentuate your bright scarf or skirt with understated pastels like beige, nude or apricot. In contrast,
mint green or ice blue nails look most stunning worn
along with burgundy outfit elements.

Behind the brand
zerres
A German fashion label with one passion:
the perfect silhouette
Every woman, regardless of her age, size or body shape
knows how difficult it can be to find the perfect pair of
trousers.
Either the model sought out is too long or too short, has too
high a rise or sits too low or it simply does not fit in the thigh
or around the rear.
This makes careful selection of a designer even more important since the fine art of clothing the legs is not something
that just anyone masters.
Since 1919, the fashion company ZERRES has been all about
trousers. Each day at the German headquarters, around one
hundred trouser specialists fine-tune every aspect of pre
mium quality and the perfect fit.
Learn more about the label, how they operate and their
current collection!
Behind the brand

For almost 100 years, ZERRES has produced

As a passionate trouser specialist with a love for detail, the label
aims to bring current trouser trends to the market which develop
over time. Transition, innovation and a love of the present moment
is what each and every collection reflects.
The designs created by the label are made for confident women
who like to dress fashionably without appearing eccentric. The
ZERRES woman feels good wearing her trousers and well clothed.
She knows how to enjoy life to its fullest and maintains high expectations when it comes to fashion, quality and fit.
Behind the brand
Spring/Summer 2013
Warmer seasons bring along a desire for colour and plenty to
offer on cuts
Colours
The new models are showing up in delicate pastel shades such as apricot, lemon
yellow and mint green.
Bootcut
jeans
“Greta”
Straight-cut
trousers “Cora”
Cuts
Jeans featuring a classic five-pocket design are still a
top trend this summer and one that suits every figure.
Lightly flared bootcut jeans are ideal for women with
sturdier thighs. For a somewhat more pronounced
middle, straight-cut drainpipe jeans are fantastic for
steering the attention away from the tummy area.
Materials
Blue jeans never stand alone:
coloured denim in super-stretch
quality is the highlight of the
collection.

Styling Tips just for you
Our customer Marion would like some style advice:
“Your latest magazine... and your magazines in general, are
fabulous! I would be delighted to take advantage of some
personal tips from you! I am short, only 159 cm tall, and
have a large bust. Up top, I wear a size 22/24 and down
below a size 18. What clothing would look best on me?”
V-necklines are ideal
for an ample bosom
because they magically elongate the
upper body
Dear Marion,
The three body features that you
mentioned are decisive when
picking out clothing: with a short
build and a prominent bust, you
have a silhouette that we call the
V-type figure. This means that
the following pieces are ideal for
you:
Dresses should not
hit below the knee.
Wrap-effect designs
particularly flatter your
silhouette.
We want to learn as much
as possible about and from
you: understand your w
 ishes,
hopes and expectations in
order to perfectly respond
to your needs and most importantly to put a smile on
your face.
