Happy Easter to the people of the Risen Lord!
We are here today because we believe that Jesus
Christ sacrificed his life for us and because we believe
that eternal life awaits us since he proved that life after
death exists.
Next Sunday we contemplate how the Risen
Jesus appeared to the Apostles and how he showed
them mercy after they had deserted him at the cross.
He forgave them and commissioned them to offer the
Sacrament of Mercy to those who would sin in the
future. In fact, we call it “Divine Mercy Sunday.” We
wish to celebrate next Sunday with a special time with
the Lord of Divine Mercy at Exposition of the Blessed
Sacrament and Benediction accompanied by the sung
Chaplet of Divine Mercy at 3:00 pm in the Church ; it
will be a bilingual celebration.
This year this
celebration is so appropriate since Pope Francis has
declared this the “Year of Mercy.”
Easter Monday, the office will be closed. I will
have a little Easter break Monday through Wednesday.
Alleluia!!!
In the name of the parish I thank Anneliese
Rivera, our director of liturgy, and all liturgical
ministers who served us so well during Holy Week,
especially Holy Thursday, Good Friday and Easter. We
congratulate and pray for all the dozens of people in
our RCIA program who received the sacraments of
Baptism, Confirmation, and First Eucharist at the Easter
Vigil. May Jesus be their Good Shepherd.
We also wish to thank José Jesús Hernandez
who along with his brother, Rocendo, designed, made
and donated the beautiful steps and railing for our
baptismal font. We used them at the Easter Vigil so
that the children and adults could enter the font and
stand inside the font to be baptized in a dramatic way.

¡Feliz Pascua al Pueblo del Señor Resucitado!
Hoy estamos aquí porque creemos que Jesucristo sacrificó su vida por nosotros y porque creemos que la
vida eterna nos espera ya que Él probó que la vida después de la muerte existe.
El próximo domingo contemplamos como Jesús
Resucitado apareció entre los Apóstoles y les mostró
misericordia después que ellos lo abandonaron en la
cruz. Él los perdona y los comisiona a ofrecer el Sacramento de Misericordia a quienes pecarán en el futuro.
De hecho, lo llamamos “Domingo de la Divina Misericordia.” Deseamos celebrar el próximo domingo con
un momento especial con el Señor de la Divina Misericordia en la Exposición del Santísimo Sacramento y la
Bendición con el Santísimo acompañado con la Coronilla de la Divina Misericordia bilingüe a las 3:00 pm en la
Iglesia. Este año la celebración es apropiada ya que el
Papa Francisco declaró este año como “Año de la Misericordia”.
El Lunes de Pascua, la oficina estará cerrada.
Tendré un descanso de Pascua de lunes a miércoles.

ministros de liturgia quienes sirvieron muy bien durante la Semana Santa, especialmente Jueves Santo,
Viernes Santo y Pascua. Felicitamos y oramos por todos los participantes de nuestro programa de RICA
quienes recibieron los sacramentos de Bautismo, Confirmación, y Primera Eucaristía en la Vigilia Pascual.

También queremos dar las gracias a José Jesús
Hernández, quien con ayuda de su hermano Rocendo,
diseñó, armó y donó los bellos escalones y la barandilla
para nuestra pila bautismal. Éstos los usamos en la Vigilia de Pascual, para que los niños y los adultos pudieran entrar en la pila y poder estar de pie dentro de la
misma para ser bautizado de una manera más significativa. Vean la foto en la página 9 del boletín.

WEDDING MUSIC RECITAL
A Wedding Music Recital will be held here at St. Francis,
Tuesday, April 5, at 7:30 pm in the Church! We will have music with Violin, Cello, Harp, Organ, Piano, Bagpipe, and Vocalists. Anyone with an upcoming Wedding (or Anniversary
Mass) should attend this helpful Recital! It’s an enjoyable and
great way to hear beautiful music appropriate for Catholic
Weddings.
CHURCH/CHAPEL LOAN UPDATE
Regarding our loan that we accepted in order to build
our Church and Chapel, it began with a balance of
$8,100,000 in May 2014. Great progress has been made
in reducing it! In almost 2 years we have reduced it to
$6,994,122.61—amazing! Thanks to all of you who have
helped make this possible by continuing to support the
Building Fund in addition to your regular Operating Fund
donations. We are also grateful to those making pledge
payments to the Diocesan Capital Campaign (via The
Catholic Foundation), as we will receive 30% of those
funds to reduce our loan principal. We just received the
first installment from The Catholic Foundation in the
amount of $127,222.81, which will go out as an additional loan payment next week. Keep up the good work!
KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS
AIDS OUTREACH MINISTRY
St. Francis College Scholarship Golf Outing will be held May
20th, 2016 at the Trails of Frisco Golf Club. Please save the

Do you know someone living with AIDS/HIV? Have you
suffered the loss of a loved one who has died from AIDS?
Or, are you just feeling called to help those living with
this disease in the Dallas area? If so, the AIDS Outreach
Ministry is looking for several volunteers who can assist
in the planning and meal preparation for this ministry. To
learn more about this extraordinary ministry opportunity,

A BIBLICAL WALK THROUGH THE MASS
In A Biblical Walk Through the Mass, we explore the biblical
roots of the words and gestures we experience in the Liturgy
