The Quality Tests of Miele Dishwashers
Quality is a critical factor in all Miele appliances. For this reason, special attention is placed
on both production and the materials used. All Miele dishwashers are also tested for the
equivalent of 20 years of use*.
Performance Test
In addition to cleaning and drying results, the acoustic values and consumption values for
each program are measured against the Miele quality pledge in a performance test.
Basket Load Test
To create realistic test conditions, baskets
are heavily loaded: 3 kg in the 3D cutlery
tray, 10 kg in the upper basket and 20 kg in
the lower basket. Under these extreme load
conditions, baskets are continually pulled
out and pushed in 100,000 times.
Door Endurance Test
During the life span of the appliance, the
dishwasher door is subjected to
considerable strain. An endurance test
simulates this strain. With a special device,
the dishwasher door is opened and
closed repeatedly 100,000 times.
The Impact Test for Cutlery Baskets
The impact test enables Miele to ensure
that the cutlery basket can withstand the
strain of everyday use. The cutlery basket is
loaded with test cutlery (14 cutlery sets of 4
pieces each) and dropped onto a hard
surface from one metre above ground.

Pre-Finished Dishwashers
Ideal as a replacement appliance in an
existing kitchen as they come complete with
control and door panel. The dishwasher can
be installed in a variety of kitchen units.
Pre-finished, built-under dishwashers are
available in Brilliant White, Obsidian Black or
CleanTouch Steel.
Integrated ("i") Dishwashers
The dishwasher's front and fascia panel can
be matched to the cabinetry of your built-in
kitchen for a completely seamless kitchen
design. Alternatively, front panels in
stainless steel with a CleanTouch Steel finish
are also an option.
Fully Integrated ("Vi" or "SF")
Dishwashers
The entire front of the appliance is
concealed either behind cabinet panelling
("Vi" models) or a Miele front panel made
from stainless steel with a CleanTouch Steel
finish ("SF" models). This allows the
appliance to be perfectly integrated into the
design of your kitchen.
Handleless ("Vi K2O") Dishwashers
The Miele Knock2open dishwasher can be
perfectly integrated into a kitchen design
without handles. By knocking twice on the
appliance front panel, the door of the
dishwasher opens automatically.

3D cutlery tray1)
The 3D cutlery tray from Miele is unique: the width, depth and height
can be adjusted to suit varying load types perfectly. Even bulky
utensils such as soup ladles or whisks can be accommodated
easily.
FlexiTimer
Easily set your dishwasher to run whenever you desire by defining
either the start or finish time of your cycle. You can
also take advantage of lower electricity rates by scheduling your
dishwasher to run during off-peak times. Anti-flooding guarantee9)
To protect against flooding, all Miele dishwashers feature the Miele
Waterproof System. Miele provides protection for your home for 20
years. Should you incur damage to your property as a result of a
defect in the water protection system, you have a safety guarantee9).
Miele will bear the costs for property damage resulting from any
defect of the system as long as the appliance was professionally
installed.
Fresh water dishwashers
Miele dishwashers only use fresh water for each step within the
wash program. The Sensor Wash program uses as little a 6.5 l of
water - significantly less than filling your kitchen sink. With this
feature, Miele has reduced water and electricity consumption
substantially over the last 30 years.
AutoClose2)
The Miele AutoClose function closes the dishwasher door
automatically, and gently. With even a slight nudge, you can
easily activate the motorised door closing feature. The door
also remains open in the position of your choice.
AutoOpen drying3)
At the end of the cycle, the door of the dishwasher opens
automatically and leaves a small gap for fresh air to reach the dishes
allowing all items (even plastics) to dry completely. Your countertop
is protected from moisture by special air ducts.
BrilliantLight4)
The patented door control automatically lights up 4 powerful LED
lights when the dishwasher is opened. The working area of the
dishwasher is lit up perfectly, making loading and unloading of the
baskets noticeably easier and adding a shine to your freshly
washed dishes.

detect the amount of dishes being washed and adjust the use of

High installation
All built-under, integrated and fully integrated dishwashers from Miele
can be installed in your kitchen at a convenient raised working
height. The benefit: dishes can be loaded and unloaded whilst
standing up in an ergonomic and convenient position. Easy on the
back without having to bend.
Hot water connection
All Miele dishwashers can be connected to a hot water supply with a
temperature of up to 60°C. In the Sensor Wash Gentle, Energy
Saver and Economy programs the electricity consumption is
reduced significantly.
In-door salt container7)
The patented salt container is conveniently located in the dishwasher
door and can even be filled with the door half open. It is no longer
necessary to bend to remove the lower basket in order to access a
salt container at the bottom of the appliance.
Delay start with integrated countdown indicator
The 24-hour delay start function allows you to operate your
dishwasher whenever suits your schedule best. It also allows you to
take advantage of cheaper electricity rates. The countdown indicator
indicates the time remaining for your cycle. This keeps you informed
of the program status of your dishwasher at all times.

Knock2open provides the perfect solution for handleless kitchen
designs. After knocking twice on the front panel of the fully
integrated Miele dishwasher, the door automatically opens by about
5 cm completely on its own.
Energy efficiency
The energy label informs you of the efficiency and capacity of your
dishwasher. Miele appliances combine perfect cleaning and drying
results with very low electricity and water consumption.
Miele basket design
Basket handles, a redesigned lower basket and a whole host of
functions in the upper basket offer in-depth versatility for all various
dishwashing needs.
ExtraQuiet
The Miele ExtraQuiet program washes your dishes very quietly with
a noise level of as low as 38 dB (A) so that you can barely notice it.

Soft water will clean dishes thoroughly but has an aggressive effect
on glass. To counter this, Miele dishwashers feature Perfect
GlassCare technology. It ensures that your glasses are washed

The ambient temperature in the kitchen and the size of the load in
the dishwasher can affect the drying process. In the Sensor Wash
program, SensorDry ensures optimum drying results even under
conditions that are not ideal.
Sound emissions
Miele dishwashers operate at particularly quiet noise levels from 42
dB - hardly audible, and deliver consistently perfect results.
TimeControl
The useful LED indicators on fully integrated dishwashers show
immediately when the program has finished. An hour before the end
of the cycle, the LEDs will switch off from left to right at 20-minute
intervals. At the end of the cycle, AutoOpen opens the door to the
ajar position. TimeControl is ideal for all types of built-in situations,
including a raised installation and a flush mounted plinth.
