PANGRA was conceived by Huntington Ford to give our customers performance,
handling, comfort and safety features available only in sporty compact cars selling
for more than $6,000. PANGRA took a year and a half of development work because
each piece had to be the very best that money and talent could design and build.
Our first prototype was tested at the Bonneville Salt Flats in August, 1972.
Our objective here was not merely to see how fast the car would run, but to test the
cars aerodynamic stability and safety at speeds approaching 200 mph. This and
subsequent tests by sports car writers and drivers confirm that the driver is very
comfortable and in complete positive contro l of the vehicle at all times.
Motor Trend in January said, "The PANGRA simply works a whole lot better than
you woulJ have any right to expect." Road and Track hails, "PANGRA is a new breed
of car--styling changes are subtle but effective and attractive, everywhere we went
the PANGRA evoked nothing but complimentary remarks and admiring glances." watch

PANGRA, 10" longer and 2" lower than its brother, the Pinto, is powered by
an Airesearch 20 pounds Turob-charger, which gives PANGRA two horsepower per cubic
inch (122 cubic inches). "PANGRA' s turbo-charger engine fairly sings with dri ve­
ability" (Motor Trend, January 1973). By the way, this turbo-charger meets the
1974 Federal Emissions standards because water injection pratically eliminates
carbon, thus reducing wear and tear on plugs and valves.
PANGRA's "Can Am" suspension coupled with adjustable IlKoni 11 shocks, "Shelbyll
mag Wheels and the #1 rated "Semperit" radial tires, stabilizer bars, increased
rate shorter front springs, plus 211 lower center of gravity enables the PANGRA
to pull .874 "G" force on a two hundred foot skid pad before breaking traction,
which is somewhat better than the .740 "Gil force that the most highly respected
imported sports car can accomplish.
The Recaro reclining seats are the very best on the market today. Full
lateral support. with an extra 6" of seat cushion that will practically eliminate
fatigue on long trips.
The instrument cluster and all new dash design enables the driver to use
the instruments rather than just have them in the car for occasional reference.
The digital tachometer was selected because this unit is very easy to read
and translate. It also has a unique memory feature that will recall the peak RPM
turned by merely pushing a button.

The Stewart Warner, vaccuum boos t, oil pressure ammeter, and water temperat ure
gauge s were selected because of the ir reputation for quality and re l iability.
The competition vers ion of t he PANGRA has been one o f two ca rs invited to the
March AFB in July for an all out as sult on 80 land speed records. Thi s attempt i s
scheduled to be shown on CBS Sports Spectacular, possib l y in Augus t , 1973.
