Introduction
This booklet tells you about County Durham and Darlington
carers card scheme.
What is the carers card scheme?
The County Durham and
Darlington carers card,
developed in partnership
with Darlington Borough
Council, NHS County
Durham and Darlington
and Durham County
Council, recognises and
rewards the support carers provide
to their neighbours, friends and
loved ones.
The carers card scheme offers carers discounts and concessions at
retail and leisure venues throughout County Durham, Darlington and
the surrounding areas.
Who can receive a carers card?
All carers in County Durham and Darlington can receive a carers
card. A carer is someone who provides unpaid support to a relative,
partner or friend. This could be caring for someone who is ill, frail,
disabled or has poor mental health or substance misuse problems.
How do I get a carers card?
