Business Delegation to the USA
Ministry for Economics, Labour and Transport of Niedersachsen Oslo Dublin Stockholm Berlin London Warsaw Hanover Paris Business Delegation to the USA Rome Madrid Athens Washington, Chattanooga, Atlanta April 19th – April 25th 2015 Land of Energy. 2 Olaf Lies Minister for Economics, Labour and Transport of Niedersachsen [email protected] www.mw.niedersachsen.de 3 Business Delegation to the USA Niedersachsen is the second largest of Germany’s federal states – covering almost 20 million square miles, it’s bigger than the Netherlands or Switzerland with a population of around 8 million, about as many as Virginia. Niedersachsen lies at the center of Europe and on Germany’s North Sea coast – two factors that make the state a very interesting location for many companies, who appreciate our excellent infrastructure and fast connections by road, rail or waterway to national and international markets. As an international trade fair city Hannover attracts business people from all over the world – the world’s biggest industrial fair (Hannover Messe) and computer fair (CeBIT) are held every year in our state capital. As a business location Niedersachsen has a great deal to offer. We’re home to Europe’s leading automobile manufacturer, Volkswagen. Our second-largest economic sector, the food industry, develops and produces high-quality foodstuffs for the future. Niedersachsen’s shipbuilders are highly specialized; Meyer Werft leads Europe in building large ultra-modern cruise liners. In Stade near Hamburg we make components for the world’s largest airliner. Niedersachsen is Germany’s number one wind power state. And along with many other global players and hidden champions Niedersachsen has a great many dynamic, internationally active SMEs. I am very pleased to be visiting your country with a business delegation. Our aim is to build on the excellent longstanding trading relations between Niedersachsen and the USA, and I hope that you will visit our state to form your own impressions in the near future. You’ll find more information about Niedersachsen at www.mw.niedersachsen.de, and if you have specific questions my ministry would be more than happy to help. 4 GH Marketing and Consulting UG High-Speed Im. & Export GmbH Tariq Abul-Khair Marketing Director German House (GH): the emergence of a new brand GH of Innovation & Business is a German company with a focus on production, distribution, marketing and consulting, acting as a network organization for collaboration with innovative German companies from several industrial categories, all of them ‘at home’ in German House.
