Addicting, Yet Fun
Ever since, video games have entertained us for 100 years! In
the 1950s, the first computer games was introduce, which
the first game “Star war”. But in 1972, the first system
(console) was the “Magnavox”. The Magnavox was connected to a TV set, which was invented by, Ralph H. Baer. In wasn’t a huge success until Atari’s arcade game “Pong” came out
for it. It then caught many people’s attention which it started
selling better but for about $100. Pong was an old arcade
game on which it was played by, a little screen was in the
middle with only two buttons, a stick and a blue or red button. On the Pong was a little screen then a 10 ft. box in the
back which it held all the wires and hard drive. In 1975, they
made a newer console which only played Pong and hockey,
the Odyssey 100. The Odyssey 100 was the best console
made in the 1970s. The Odyssey 100 was inserted into a TV
and with about 6-7 buttons. Later on another Odyssey was
created which was renamed as the “Odyssey 200”. It came
with another onscreen scoring, but this time with 4 players
are able to play, and a third additional game-Smash. It was
rated as a huge and advance technology in the market. Soon,
a console with a joystick was the “Atari 2600”. Created by
Fairchild, it then became popular to the U.S.A. But during
1977, older consoles had to be sold to clear stock which then
punished the market. Afterward they released “Space Invaders” just a few days after the 1977 crash. But in 1983 another video game crash appeared, which the companies made
even low quality consoles and video games. But everything
changes during the sixth generation, the “PlayStation
2” (PlayStation released in 1994), “Xbox”, the “Nintendo
GameCube (GC)” was released between 2000 and 2002. Now
present, the “Xbox 360”, Kinect”, “PlayStation 3”, “Wii”,
“Wii U”, and finally the “PSP Vita”.

What’s better, Old or
The brand new highly fashionable NIKE Mags are finally here! They come
with rechargeable batteries that make
nearly the whole shoe light. If you’re a
NIKE fan you’ll love these shoes. There
are two bad parts though. The first is
that there over $2,000 the highest I saw
was $6,600 for a size ten shoe! Then the
second bad news is that it’s an eBay
auction. Which means that you’re not
100% sure that you’re going to get a
pair. But the good part about the auction is it can drive the price down but
be mindful it can higher it too. But NIKE said that 100% of the proceeds are
going to the Michael J. Fox association.
The association is for Parkinson disease. They’re only 1500 that are being
auctioned off so start bidding now. By

New?
In the 1960s, the styles were different compared to ours. We have fancy skirts, V-necks, t
-shirts, and really short shorts. What they had
were hippie cloths and wig styles; they even
had a style for tennis cloths, which they didn’t need. I don’t think they cared what they
wore, even if they had on a flower power hippie suit.
Now, enter the 70s stage. What they use to
wear was disco stuff like the afro wigs, and
the high boots. Don’t forget what the men use
to wear.; That’s a shame that men wore glittery shirts.
Now what we wear are skinny jeans, tank
tops, short sleeves, etc. The styles have
changed, but people’s love of fashion never
will.

Tech: Now and Then
Today, in modern day, we are gifted with simple things such as instant internet, easy to use portable gaming devices, and easy use to communicate with others. And that’s just in our phones. But back in the
1984, they had the brick. So now let’s compare the old clumsy brick, with the all new galaxy 2 android smart
phones.
So for our first comparison let’s check the simplicity of usage for the brick and the galaxy 2
android smartphone. For the brick, usage was fairly simple; one reason would be because all
it was is just a normal house phone that can travel. But back in 1984, this was the best of the
best. Only the hierarchy of the public and the richest of the richest had one. Understandable
because when this phone came out, it had a huge price tag of $ 3995! Now that’s a pricey piece of equipment.
But now let’s compare that to something more modern. The galaxy 2 android smartphone. This
phone is amazingly simple, great graphics, and awesome gameplay. This is every big-little
boys dream. It’s an amazing piece of equipment. This blows the brick out of the water.
So all in all, the brick was a good piece of luxury equipment. But now, we’re more advanced.
We have the newest and greatest cross between an 8 mega pic cam, gaming system, and
phone that’s ever been devised.
Well, I was Looking for a New Ad, Which One's Me?...
From the Dippity Doo hair gel in the 80s, the 'Rappin 'Rockin
Barbie of the 90s, and the singing FreeCeditReport.com
band of 2007, television sure has changed as far as the advertismentsadhessive-applied nails that went on easy and
looked great. The men were making statements with Bonjour
jeans, as were the ladies. However, for boys and girls alike,
Mountain Dew, Chewels Gum, and the Atari commercials
were aimed at the teens of the time. For the students, The
Bulk was a binder that held practically everything- it was
even one of the commercials played during the first hour of
MTV. It had curlers, shoes, and even a hair dryer that could
hit in the binder.
As for the 1990s, boys
were living good with their Mighty
Duck action figures, He-Man Power Swords, and Nerf 'Sonic
Siren' football close to them and watching them on the TV. Girls were having fun playing
with the 'Rappin Barbie doll and Mall Madness games. Commonly played on most stations, the Burger King Kid's Club commercials were popping up like Whack-a-Mole's on
the television. Seeing a Barbie or Nerf ad isn't out of the ordinary for today, actually one
of today's Barbies celebrate the old Barbies and are
decorated like them. Also, Burger King still has ads
but not the Kids Club kind, more like the latest specials on the WHOPPER.
Today, not only do our commercials have a good
jingle going in the background, but also lyrics to go
will them! In 2007, FreeCreditReport.com came out
with Eric Violette singing about the inlaws he had
and the used car he hated. But as for the college
kids, the Education Connection commercials can
still be heard singing about how to find schooling
online. But not all of our commercials have the
songs belting, we have the advertisements for the the latest episodes of reality TV, the
newest trailers for movies, and also which television company is best. Even though the
years have changed and the commercials have, they are almost all about the same
things- food, clothing, and the next best thing.

Flashbacks of Music over
Years.
Now-a-days music and tunes from
the 80’s, 90’s and early 2000’s differs
although in some ways is the same.
If you were a typical teenager in the
80’s, in your stack of cd’s, you would
find a blend of pop and
rock. Famous bands/
artists from then include
Michael Jackson, Prince,
Madonna, Pixies, Beastie
Boys and much more. As
the 90’s came along, on
the radio, punk rock would
be taking over. Bands like Nirvana,
Chevelle, Guns N’ Roses and Radiohead have inspired bands from today’s music. During the 80’s and
90’s, rock defined the era but as the
Hip Hop, Pop, Emo, Punk and Rock
were on every teenager’s mp3 player!
Boy bands like Backstreet Boys, ‘N
Sync, and V Factory had become trends
around this time. Girl groups and artists
like Britney Spears, Destiny’s Child,
Danity Kane, Kelly Clarkson and Carrie
Underwood had came into the
mainstream. Near 2010, or today's music, teenagers seem to
have a liking in past music from
the 80's and newer music. Techno music has became popular
and rap overtakes many radio
stations. While comparing music
from the 80's and 90's, and then
now, you will find that artists are inspired by older music but make it con-
From Pop to Grunge
The music from the 1980’s through 1990’s
was two decades that had a huge effect on
music. One thing that was huge during the
80’s was the “British Invasion”, some of the
famous bands or singers from the “British Invasion” were. The Cure, Depeche mode, The
Smiths, George Michael, OMD, Joy Division
and many others. These bands all played a huge part in the 1980’s when it came
to music. During the 80’s a T.V. station called MTV came out. MTV is short for
Music Television, so all it was is music videos all day everyday 24/7. The 90’s was
also a very important time for music. Bands like Nirvana, The Pixies, Sublime,
and Chevelle came out. These were some of the most famous bands from there
time. These two decades were some of the most famous time for the music industry. And without all those bands and singers, music today could be very different.

Old to New! :)
The Fab five changed everything .For years, college basketball
fans had to watch their hard working heroes take the basketball court in short shorts that left nothing to the imagination.
Getting into a defensive or stance or dribbling was more than
enough to strain the fibers of the tight shorts favored for years
by college basketball teams.
Looking back, it's easy to question these guys choices, to suit
up in such short shorts, but most can be forgiven. They had
no choice until the Fab Five came along and introduced that
maybe you could play in shorts that went past mid-thigh.
Some not all people were the short shorts not and days , you
might see some people wearing the short shorts but mostly
everybody wears shorts past their knees ! :)

The only 60's songs that I like
are the Beatles. Stairway to Heaven is a
really slow song. I don't really like the
70's songs. Bon Jovi's Livin' on a Prayer is
a really good song and I liked it. The 80's
songs were so much better than the 70's
and 60's. The 90's songs were also pretty
good. I especially liked Madonna and the
Backstreet Boys. Hey Ya! is also an awesome song. Lose yourself by Eminem has
some explicit content.

Art: Then and Now
Today, artists such as Marc Chagall, Marcus Glenn, Fanch Ledan, Tim Yanke,
Linda leKinff, Thomas Kinkade, Itzchak Tarkay, and many others stun the art world
with their brilliant pieces of memorabilia. Art is anything that affects the senses,
emotions, or intellect; such as music, movies, and other things. But we often only
associate the word ‘art’ with paintings, pictures, and prints. Art can be traced back
about 75,000 years ago. The oldest art artifact is a series of drilled snail shells found
in South African caves. They are about 75,000 years old, making them of great importance to the art realm. But art did not stop there.
Great art empires like Italy, Greece, France, and China made a name for
themselves because of art. France has the Musee de Louvre, Italy has the artists,
Greece has the Gods, and China has the dynasties. France’s Musee de Louvre is one
of the world’s largest museums. It is probably the most famous for its painting by
Leonardo da Vinci: The Mona Lisa. Italy has born the most successful artist of all
time; Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo, Raphael, Donatello, and more. The people of
Greece are a great example of art outside of paintings. Greece is known for its
pottery, statues, and temples to the Gods. Like Greece, China is also very famous for
its pottery and sculptures. The Terracotta Warriors stand guard of Qin Shi Huang’s
burial ground. Each sculpture in the Terracotta warrior has a different expression, so no two pieces are alike! These are just some of
the many great empires built on the foundation of art. But with all this art, where do you store it?
Art galleries are a place for people alike and not to come together to witness fascinating pieces. Famous art galleries such
as the Louvre in Paris house many of the world’s greatest treasures. But the Louvre isn’t the only gallery, for almost every town has
at least one art gallery in it! Art galleries in the U.S. include Park West Galleries, The Museum of Modern Art, The Art Institute of
Chicago, the Harvard Art Museum, the Phoenix Art Museum, and some dozen others.
Art is important; whether it is music, paintings, photography, anything! Without art, our world would be dull and full of no
creativeness. Old masters such as Salvador Dali, Pablo Picasso, Rembrandt, Miro, and Walt Disney didn’t set the boundaries for art.
The simply set a goal for new artists to reach. Very few artists ever see their works sell for over $10,000; only about 1 in 1,000 artists
do. So instead of saying, “That art piece is terrible!” say, “The artist did a great job at expressing them self!” Very few people have
respect for art nowadays, and those people do NOT know what great experience they are missing By - Nate Barry
Where’s The Art?
In the 1990s there was a theft at the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum. The people who stole the art work disguised themselves as
policemen. They “policemen” said they were responding to a call. The guard on duty broke protocol and let them in. the “policemen” convinced the 1st guard to call the other guard and as soon as the other guy got in they said that they were arrested. When they put the hand
cuffs on each of the guards they took them to the basement and put duct taped them. Then they
went upstairs and stole 13 pieces of art work and left. Nobody knew that the theft had happened
until the next day when another guard came to relieve the other ones. As soon as the guard found
out he called the police. The approximate amount of money that those art works are worth is
$500 million. To this day nobody has found the stolen . By– Adrianna Revilla
