The famous American manufacturer Tiffen filter saw early on that the imaging
software would partly replace traditional glass filters. So they decided to make a
Photoshop plug­in to develop as a result of the Tiffen Dfx plug­in. This plug­in
simulates hundreds of combinations of known (Tiffen) filters, specialized lenses,
development processes, film grain and other photographic effects. Remarkably, the
Tiffen Dfx plug­in not only works with Photoshop, Lightroom and Aperture, but also
with video software.

Recently released version 3.0 of Tiffen Dfx. This version has now also options
besides 125 filters to images 'ontblokken' (after high compression), remove noise,
add light, texture and images align. There are no fewer than 113 colors and black
witfilmeffecten added, including simulations of Kodak, Fuji, Agfa, Polaroid and Ilford
films. Through the website of Digital Film Tools you a 15 day trial version of the
software. The download is marked, but the installation goes smoothly. You need

version of the plug­in is compatible with Adobe Photoshop CS3 and higher, and

Operation
The start of the filter program obviously depends on the application used. In
Photoshop CS5 choose after opening the image from the menu to bwerken filter
option >> Tiffen Dfx v3 . In Lightroom, choose Edit >> Photo >> Dfx v3.0 . Next, a

Presets
First, choose the preset you like most. Both the bottom as thumbnails on the right
side show an effect like in your photo will be applied. This makes the selection

Parameters

pane choose the tab Parameters , a panel with all possible settings. These

Mask

photographic effects. Besides the usual color and gradient filters
