As Recreation Manager, Laura Imbornoni has touched the hearts of thousands, while coordinating many activities, planning great parties and events, and creating numerous fine programs, as well as managing one of the finest Senior Centers in our area. To honor Laura, the Board of Trustees will supplement the cost of lunch. Jozefina will create a wonderful meal including a boneless skinless chicken breast with cranberry sauce on the side, squash casserole, rice pilaf, roll and butter. Homemade coconut maple cake will finish off the meal. We will only serve the lunch special, which will be available to purchase at a discounted cost of $3, or you can call to register for dessert and beverage at no cost, compliments of the Board. Please make reservations by December 13. # 13582 The Hillcrest Concert Band will present "Hallelujah!" The excitement of Christmas in music. In addition to instrumental numbers, the Hillcrest Concert Chorale will sing Hadel's "Hallelujah Chorus" with the concert band. The Christmas Festival and Sleigh Ride by Leroy Anderson will also be performed. Light refreshments will follow. Reservations are available until November 24. On October 27, Ron Ivory was elected President of the Board of Trustees of Mentor Seniors LLC. Sadly, he passed away on November 9. Dean Trombley has been appointed to fill his current position as Vice President immediately. We are grateful to Dean, elected Vice President for 2011-2012, for taking on the position of President beginning January 2011. Seba Pletcher was elected as Treasurer and Lois Shaffer as Corresponding Secretary. Cheryl Lamont has been appointed to serve as Vice President 20112012, and Sara Shaner has been appointed to serve as Recording Secretary for a couple months until the position can be filled permanently. The person elected as Recording Secretary will not be able to serve due to unforeseen circumstances. The Board of Trustees is seeking a Recording Secretary, Hostess Coordinator and Decorations Chair to serve for 2011-2012. For the Decorating Chair position, the Board seeks someone experienced and creative in the decoration/craft arena. She developed and coordinated a program for the City of Mentor to help developmentally challenged people reach goals which are difficult for them to attain.
