Profile
Jacques van Rijckevorsel (1950) joined Solvay in 1974 on graduating in Civil
Engineering from the UCL.
After five years in research in Belgium and nine years in the Plastics
Processing in Italy, he joined the Central Management of the Plastics
Processing in Brussels in 1988.
In 1991, he was posted to head up Subsidiary Draka Polva in The
Netherlands, returning in 1996 to head up the Strategic Business Unit Vinyls.
He joined the Solvay Executive Committee in 2000 as General Manager of
the Plastics Processing Sector, then of the Plastics Sector when it merged
with the Plastics Processing Sector in 2004.
In 2001, he was appointed Group Innovation Sponsor. He also chairs the
Group’'s cross-sector New Business Board.
In 2008, he was elected President of PlasticsEurope, the Association of
Plastics Manufacturers in Europe.

Profile
Roger Kearns is General Manager for the Asia-Pacific region and is
responsible for development and over sight of the Group’'s business for its
three sectors - pharmaceuticals, plastics and chemicals. Asia represents a
key area of focus for Solvay.
Prior to this, Kearns was appointed president of Solvay Advanced Polymers
in 2004 where he helped guide the company to record revenues and
performance.
During his tenure he executed several key acquisitions including the
successful Integration of Mississippi Polymers Technology, Inc. and the
plastics division of Gharda Chemicals in India.
Kearns has made his career at the Solvay companies since joining in 1986
as a process engineer for the Solvay Polymers’'plant in Deer Park, Texas.
From there he has assumed a series of manufacturing, technical, sales and
business management roles, including two expatriate assignments in
Belgium.
Kearns holds a bachelor’'s of science degree in chemical engineering from
the Georgia Institute of Technology and an MBA from Stanford University.
He and his family make their home in Bangkok, Thailand, the regional
headquarters for the Solvay Group
