School Fee: $60
 Fee Includes:
○ PE uniform
○ Language Arts novels.
○ Periodicals used in academic classes
(Science World, Junior Scholastic, etc…).
○ Consumable materials used in all classes.
○ Grade-specific needs.
○ Fee does not include calculator.
School Supply Packs

School Supply Packs are offered by the
PTA, as a convenient way to get all
required supplies at one time, and
ordering information will be shared via
our Weekly Announcements.

School Supply List also available in the
front office and online.
Beginning of Year Information

Please make sure the front office has all updated phone
numbers and email address information.

Please be sure that all required forms are received back at
HMS in a timely manner.

Any medication that your child takes at school must be
registered through the school nurse and kept in her office.
Please make sure immunizations are up to date.

Students will dress out in uniform for PE next year. Students
enrolled in PE will need their own lock to use in the gym
locker room, during their PE class period.

No early dismissal for students after 2pm each day.
School day is 7:25am – 2:32pm.

Dress Code

Be vigilant of HMS dress code when purchasing
back to school attire (dress code will be included
in the Student Handbook, on the HMS website).
 Highlights:

Related Arts

Each student will have the opportunity to take two related arts
classes each quarter.

Most classes are scheduled by the quarter. Other classes are
semester or year-long (band, choir, advanced art, and strings).

Most 6th grade related arts classes are scheduled through a
computerized rotation. Students get a “taste” of a lot of things!

Boost (RTI) Classes are scheduled based on need. There is not
a general Study Hall class period.

Students may have Physical Education more than once during
the year, or not at all, depending on how the rest of his/her
schedule is constructed.

Athletics Information

All students must have a current athletic physical
on file at HMS in order to try out for any sport.
Physicals are good for one calendar year.

Please contact coaches directly and check the
HMS website often in order to learn more about
specific schedules and tryouts.

year, regarding an HMS Athletics pass.
