Former MCTC General Manager Bruce Dayton has decided to leave to pursue a career at his childhood home for tennis, the Lakewood Racquet Club. We wish him the best! Avanti Sports Assistant Manager Kyle Stalker takes the helm as the New GM of the Mill Creek Tennis Club. Kyle has been with the Mill Creek Tennis Club since it was taken over by the Avanti Sports Group in May 2009. Kyle graduated from Willamette University with a BA in Economics, with a focus in Environmental Economics. During his tenure at Willamette he was a two time All American on the baseball team, leading the NCAA in home runs in 2008 and setting five all time WU offensive records. Kyle is very enthusiastic about tennis technologies and the latest cutting edge trends in tennis equipment and stringing, and how to use it to help bring new life to the game. Kyle is also a member of the 2011 Mill Creek 8.0 Mixed National Champions Mill Creek 8.0 Mixed Team Wins National Championship! Mill Creek’s powerhouse 8.0 Mixed doubles team led by MCTC Coach Kent took down Florida 2-1 in the November’s National Championship finals in Tucson, Arizona. Mill Creek 7.0 Mixed Team, led proudly by Captain and MCTC member Chris Ahearn took third place at November’s Mixed Doubles Nationals in Tucson , Arizona. The team advanced from pod play and lost a close 1-2 semifinal match to the Caribbean team under the lights. All three courts in the match went to 3rd set tiebreakers, with the Caribbean getting the better of the Creekers.
