Mondi Coating & Release offers a wide range of
barrier liner solutions for the corrugated industry with
the following key advantages:
When corrugated board is exposed to humidity, the moisture
can easily penetrate and migrate into the individual paper
substrates of the corrugated board sheet.
• Protection of packed goods from moisture, grease,
odours, aroma, oxygen, gas diffusion and mechanical
stress
• Protection of the box against moisture penetration
due to surrounding humidity
• Protection of the box against moisture migration from
the packed goods when the contents are moist, wet
or greasy
• Excellent printability
• Raw material savings
Moisture migration into all liner and fluting substrates of a
box construction can cause a reduction in stiffness (RCT)
resulting in lower total strength of the board sheet (ECT),
which may in turn reduce the compression strength of the
box (BCT).
Our barrier liners are produced on the basis of recycled
or virgin fibre containerboard polymer-laminated with
100% wood pulp kraft papers or other sophisticated
substrates such as antistatic films, non-woven, tissue,
etc.

Paratén®* is a barrier liner produced on the
basis of either virgin or recycled fibres, depending on the required properties of the
packaging construction. The product has a
pure fibre surface and can be supplied with a
brown, white or mottled white appearance.
Paratherm®* is a special barrier liner product
with a heat-resistant surface, allowing high
temperatures in board production and conversion, as well as in packaging applications.
The product is available with either a brown or
a white appearance.
Parafresh®* is specially designed for applications in modified/controlled atmosphere
packaging. It has specific gas and flavour
barrier properties.
Parasoft®* is specially designed for the expensive and scratch sensitive product segment.
Parastat®* is specially designed for highquality electro static discharge applications,
complying with IEC 61340-5-1 Edition 1,
2007-08 and IEC/TR 61340-5-2 Edition 1,
2007-08.
Paraprint®* is a cost-effective solution in
which optimum barrier properties and excellent printing results are combined in a single
substrate. It is developed for packaging designed with miniflute and microflute used for
consumer-related packaging.
