Page 3 Who We Are SZEE GASES, a subsidiary of SEAN ZARA NIGERIA LIMITED is sub-Saharan Africa’s leading manufacturer of industrial and medical oxygen gases, importation of argon gases and operates an ultra modern Sanghi Oxygen Plant in Ikorodu, Lagos which has the capacity of 150 cubic meters per hour with active plans to increase of expanding to 400 cubic meters per hour. We provide industrial gases to a variety of institutions and factories all over Nigeria and have earned a remarkable reputation for the high reliability and quality of its products and services . The company has obtained different certifications, due to the automatic registration and control processes that accompany its production activities and running at full capacity for the last three years, SZee Gases has diversified it’s offerings to include delivering, pick up and after sales maintenance of industrial gas cylinders for the convenience of our esteemed customers. In infrastructure, the design of our Oxygen air separation Plants is based on the Liquification of Air based on low & medium pressure cycle. The air separation column has state-of-the-art distillation trays, multipass exchangers & condensors to get a high yield of oxygen by separation of liquid air which results in very low power consumption. Our vast experience in the field of manufacturing Oxygen has finally resulted into trouble free operation and virtually maintenance free working of our plant. It is vital for most life forms on earth. We absorb oxygen through the air we breathe. Medical oxygen is essential in hospital and clinical care for resuscitation and surgery and for various therapies. It is also mixed with nitrogen or helium to create underwater diving mixtures. Oxygen is obtained on a commercial scale through the liquefaction and distillation of ambient air at air separation plants. A second purification process may be necessary if ultra-high purity levels are required. High-purity oxygen can also be produced through the electrolysis of water. Membrane techniques are suited to lower-purity requirements. The main industrial application of oxygen is combustion. Many materials that do not normally burn in air will burn in oxygen so mixing oxygen with air greatly enhances combustion efficiency in iron and steel, non-ferrous, glass and concrete industries. It is widely combined with a fuel gas for cutting, welding, brazing and glass blowing, offering much higher flame temperatures and thus greater efficiency than just air. With oxyfuel, plasma and laser processes, a jet of gaseous oxygen is used to cut steel. Oxygen is also popular in thermal lancing to drill or cut through materials such as concrete, brick, stone and various metals. Due to its ability to help stabilise the arc and reduce surface tension, oxygen is used as an ingredient in some shielding gas mixtures. The chemical industry relies on pure oxygen to increase the efficiency of oxidation reactions, for instance. High-purity oxygen is used in laboratories, process-control operations, gas-cooled nuclear reactors, metal analysis instruments, and in semiconductor and optical fibre production. Page 6 On the water treatment front, oxygen is an effective way of purifying waste water and treating sewage. Other applications include sealing glass ampoules in the pharmaceutical industry, oxygenation of water for aquaculture, modified atmosphere packaging (MAP) mixtures and liquid explosives. ARGON GAS Argon (Ar) is a colourless, odourless, non-reactive, inert gas. In high concentrations, it has an asphyxiating effect. As argon is an atmospheric gas (0.93% vol.), it is generally sourced by separating air. A crude argon stream containing up to 5% oxygen is removed from the main air separation column and purified to produce the commercial purity grade required. Argon can also be recovered from the exhaust streams of certain ammonia plants. Industrial Applications Argon has many different applications in many industries. The most common one is as a shielding gas for arc welding – either in pure form or as part of various mixtures. It is one of the main gases used in filling mixtures for incandescent (filament) lamps, phosphorescent tubes and thyratron radio tubes. It is also used as a carrier gas in chromatography, sputtering, plasma etching and ion implantations. It provides a blanket atmosphere in crystal growth, viniculture and pharmaceutical packaging. For excimer lasers, argon is blended with fluorine and helium. As an insulation gas, argon is a popular way of improving thermal insulation in multi-pane windows. It has many protective applications in iron, steel and heat treatment industries – particularly in the case of metals susceptible to nitriding when treated with a nitrogen-based atmosphere. Less common applications include cryosurgery, refrigeration, decarburising of stainless steel, airbag inflation, fire extinguishing, spectroscopy, spectrometry and purging or balancing in laboratories. Page 7 Our T eam Directors Arc. Ken Bob-Iwe Architect Ken Bob-Iwe is the Principal Partner and the Managing Director of Sean Zara Nigeria Limited. He is also the Managing Director of Spur Nigeria, Natuhab Consultants Limited, and a Director with Landmark Partners Network Limited. He holds a BSc. and an MSc. in Architecture from the University of Nigeria Nsukka (UNN). He also has a Master’s degree in Construction management. Architect Ken Bob-Iwe ventured into the gas supply market in 2011, when he established SZEE Gases, as a subsidiary of Sean Zara Nigeria Limited, and has since then, grown the organization to make quite a mark in the industry. Adangozi Bob-Iwe: Mrs Adangozi Bob-Iwe is the other Director of Sean Zara Nigeria Limited. She is also a Director with Natuhab Consultants Limited, and the Managing Director of The Soft Furnishing Academy. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN). Mrs. Adangozi has been a Director of Sean Zara (SZEE Gases) since its inception in 2011. Page 8 Our T eam Management Team The Management Team is led principally by the Managing Director Arc. Ken Bob-Iwe, and he is effectively assisted by the following Personnel: BABALOLA OLUWASEUN I. DAVID Babalola Oluwaseun I. David is the (General) Operations Manager of the Plant and supply system with us at Sean Zara Nigeria Limited (SZEE Gases). He obtained a National Diploma (OND) and a Higher National Diploma (HND) in Mechanical Engineering from Yaba College of Technology (YabaTech), Lagos. Mr. Babalola has over 25 years’ experience in the production and distribution of Natural gas, which he brought in when he joined the Organization in 2014. Within his short time, Mr. Babalola has been a major contributor to the growth in productivity of the company to an extent where there is now need for expansion. NWAFOR CHRISTOPHER WILLIAMS M. Nwafor Christopher is the Accountant at Sean Zara Nigeria Limited (SZEE Gases). He acquired his National Diploma (OND) and Higher National Diploma (HND) in Accountancy from Institute of Management Technology (IMT), Enugu State. He is an Associate Chartered Economist (ACE) as certified by Institute of Chartered Economists of Nigeria (ICEN), and a Chartered Accountant, as certified by Institute of Chartered Page 9 Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN). Mr. Christopher has over 25 years’ experience in accounting and auditing, which he brought into the organization in January 2013. He has been a major contributor to the growth of the organization then since. TRIBHUVAN SINGH Mr. Tribhuvan Singh is an Expatriate from India. He is the Plant Manager/Operator for SZEE Gases. He brought his 13 years’ experience in oxygen production to the organization in 2013, and has been part of the Company’s growth since then. GIRISH KUMAR RAI Mr. Girish Kumar Rai is an Expatriate from India. He is an Associate Plant Manager/Operator with us at SZEE Gases. He has over 21 years’ experience in the production of Natural gases (including Oxygen and Nitrogen). He joined SZEE Gases in 2014, and has been part of the Organization’s development then since.
