Conversation Heart Votive and Tray
Light up you day with this sweet craft. The votive tray is actually a canning lid adorned
with Conversation Hearts. As for the votive, it’s covered with a Conversation Heart
inspired saying that can be downloaded for free by visiting the Brach’s website (we can
provide the template to you for free).
You Need: Brach’s Conversation Hearts, canning lid, hot glue gun and glue, glass votive,
vellum, tape, FREE downloadable template (available at www.ferrarausa.com/brachs).
Directions: Use hot glue gun (or strong adhesive) to attach Conversation Hearts to
canning lid. Set aside to dry. Download “Votive Tray Cover” and print out on vellum.
Cut template along dotted lines and wrap around votive. Secure with tape or glue. Place
votive on tray, tea light in votive and enjoy.
Conversation Heart Thumbtacks and Pinboard
Get organized in style with this pinboard you’re sure to “LUV.” Not only are the cute
thumbtacks made of Conversation Hearts, but the entire pinboard is created using the
iconic candy.
You Need: Brach’s Conversation Hearts, thumbtacks, strong adhesive (such as Super
Glue), spray adhesive, corkboard, fabric, ribbon.
Directions: Glue hearts to tacks with strong adhesive. (Tip: If the hearts don’t lie flat, use
scissors to scoop out a small section of each heart, which will give the tacks more room.)
Set tacks aside to dry. Cover corkboard with spray adhesive and lay fabric over top (be
sure fabric is taut), then tack or staple excess fabric to the back of the board. Place
ribbons on fabric in a crisscross pattern and add “heart pins” to the places on the board
where the ribbons form an “x.” If you have excess ribbon, tack or staple it to the back of
the board. Slide pictures, mementos and other goodies under ribbon or tack items to your
board with extra “heart pins!”
Conversation Hearts / Fill-in the Blanks Valentines
A fun alternative to store-bought cards, these Valentines will keep your kids LOL 4Ever
(or at least a few hours). Note: We will provide the downloadable template for free.
You Need: Brach’s Conversation Hearts, FREE downloadable “Fill-in the blanks”
Valentine’s Day cards (available at www.ferrarausa.com/brachs) sandwich-size plastic
bags with zipper closure, ribbon.
Directions: Download and print “Fill-in the Blanks” cards. Create customized pouches
by sewing or stapling a vertical strip of ribbon down both sides of the plastic bag (about 1
½ inches in from the edge). Leave extra ribbon at the top so you can tie a bow. Your bag
should now be separated into two pouches. Place Conversation Heats in the smaller
pouch and place your “Fill-in the Blanks” Valentine card in the larger pouch. Don’t
forget to fill out your friends’ names at the top of each card.
Conversation Heart Topiary
This cute decoration may look complicated, but it’s actually surprisingly simple to make.
You Need: Brach’s Conversation Hearts, wire hanger, hot glue gun and glue, ribbon,
flowerpot, floral foam, ribbon.
Directions: Stretch and bend wire hanger into a heart (Tip: the hook will be at the
bottom). Glue hearts along the wire shaped heart (front and back) with a glue gun. Set
aside for several hours to dry. Place topiary in a flowerpot filled floral foam and sprinkle
Conversation Hearts on top. Finally, tie a ribbon to the base of the heart.
