MISIA(Artist)
We are in such a disastrous situation. The unimaginably severe
damages caused by the sudden catastrophehave made me
speechless. Please allow me to express my heartfelt sympathy to
those affected by this unfortunate disaster. My thoughts and
sympathies are with you.
mudef has started a fund-raising campaign called ‘HOPE FOR JAPAN’
to support the emergency relief activities and reconstruction in the
area hit by the devastation. I have made a donation to mudef,
hoping that I could be of some help to overcome the terrible loss in
any way.
I am watching the news reports every day. I just cannot help crying when I see the people in
the disaster-stricken areas behaving calmly, caring for and supporting each other, and the
rescuers engaging in relief activities with such strong devotion.
What I can do might be little. But I shall seek for any contribution I can make to support those
who are suffering from the devastation.
I sincerely hope that all the people affected by the cataclysm recover, and the disasterstricken areas are reconstructed as soon as possible.

I feel fear and anxiety every day. Facing at the enormity of the terrible disaster, I can’t say in
word. I hope to save as many lives as possible and appreciate the rescue work by Japan
Self-Defense Forces and the support from all over the world.
I made a donation through mudef. Since that disaster, many people have become afraid
that a similar sized earthquake might occur where they live. We need to behave in an
appropriate manner on the basis of precise information.
I’d like to hope earlier reconstruction and revitalization.

Maki Nomiya (Musician)
One week has passed since the unbelievable tragedy has taken place.
Please allow me to express my heartfelt sympathy to those affected by this unfortunate
disaster.
I am trying to stay calm, and do what I can do.
I am making myself always ready to sing whenever needed!

The Great East Japan Earthquake actually jolted me. I even felt kind of corny toward feeling
of intense sadness and could not stop crying.
Since that day it’s start to motion towards a collaborative society. I decided to take part “HOPE FOR
APAN”. We can get on our feet with other people.
TAKUYA(Artist)
Six months have passed from the Great East Japan Earthquake, but recovery efforts are far
from over with anxiety of next similar sized disaster. I want to be of some help to the affected
areas and hope many people smile again.

Dear people of JapanDuring this tumultuous and difficult time, for the people of Japan
We would like to extend our love and support. We are in complete sadness and sorrow for all
the people who suffered and effected by this unbelievable disaster. It is times as such,
difficult and uncertain, that tests human beings strength and ability to show love to one
another, that brings us together as one. We are one with you today, standing strong and
embracing your people and extraordinary spirit! Japanese people have been amazing to
me and my artists over the years - your kindness and hospitality is admirable. We sing a song
of love and prayer- a song of strength and embrace, a song of support to Japan.


Alfred Chapomba (Board Chairperson of Consol Homes Orphan Care,
MALAWI)
The Board Chairperson, The Executive Guardian, Management and Staff,
Volunteers and the beneficiaries of Consol Homes Orphan Care (CHOC)
learnt with deep shock sadness on the devastating calamity that befell
the beautiful and lovely over 30,000 people of Japan recently.
We are of the opinion that these were not the unluckiest people to suffer
such devastation for it is said, It’s not the luckiest that survive dangers not
the fastest that escape danger and neither the wisest that escape
dangerous circumstances, but time and chance happens for all'. As such,
since chance was not in their favour, we feel the loss with the surving
family members especially children who have to start life over again
without their loved ones.
While knowing and understanding that life is like that and that as human
beings we were made not know what befalls us tomorrow, it suffices to
trust in the Great Creator who is the best comforter of all the bereaved
families while giving more courage and strength (resilience) in the
affected people besides more abilities to those that are carrying out
rescue operations. More so, the Government of Japan.
Sincerely thinking about you during these hard moments of time while appreciating your
support for Malawi. Children that have suffered the blow of loss of parents due to HIV and
AIDS.
