By the time this newsletter hits the press we

would like to thank all who participated, and a
special thank you to the Swap Meet
Committee for their countless hours of work
behind the scenes.
Date: Tuesday, March 20, 2012

our resources and host some of the greatest
events, this is due to the commitment and
willingness of our great membership – Thank

Joe and hurry back – we miss you.

report and stated that we are in need of
volunteers for the swap meet.
In our strive for the Chapter Top Flight Award
we will be hosting a road tour this Summer.
Steve Barrett & company are organizing the
event and will keep us well informed as the
time nears. In the past our road tours were
well attended and everyone had a great time,
this event will prove to be the same.
Wayne McKee read the Treasurer’s Report
and made mention that he has been
researching a Pay Pal account for our
chapter, as the National is suggesting that all
chapters do so. The members then voted to
accept the Treasurer’s Report.
Please take a moment and fill out the
membership renewal form.
Our new
membership booklets are going to print
earlier this year, and the cutoff for additions is
March 31st.
Our Membership Report was given by Joe
Sieve, and he reiterated that our 2012 dues
are due before the 31st of March, at this point
we have 50% of our membership accounted
for.
Remember everyone needs to fill a form out,
and the $20 renewal fee only applies to those
that did not attend the Christmas Party.
Dale Maris had nothing new on the Web side
of the Queen City site, but did state that he is
open to any suggestions that will make our
site more interesting.
Dale and Wayne
elaborated on our judging seminar / mini
meet, and invited all to attend.
See you at Spade Kreations on Tuesday
March 20th.

Our Queen City NCRS February 2012
meeting was held at Doran Racing where we
were surrounded by Rolex series race cars.
Doran Racing is a complete race shop that
handles anything from CNC machining to
chassis fabrication to carbon fiber molds.
Our membership was in awe at the
workmanship of the Doran crew.
Steve began our February meeting by
thanking Kevin at Doran Racing for hosting,
and thanking Gary Conger for arranging the
meeting and dinner. We were introduced to
two guests; Fred Zacharias, and Scott
Seibert. Steve also welcomed two members
that we have not seen in some time Kurt
Meier, and Dave Becknell. We were made
aware of Joe Eyl’s health issues and were
promised that Mary Carol would keep us
informed on his progress.
Otto Takacs, our Vice Chairman, gave his
Steve mentioned that the Florida Regional
was a great success from vendors to
attendance everything was up. Those that
attended the event in Florida agreed. The
Great Lakes Chapter hosted a technical
seminar on mid year vent windows, a few of
our members attended and spoke highly of
the event.
Steve then thanked those
members that volunteered at the Auto Expo
in the Concours d’Elegance booth.
Steve, Wayne, and Gary Grever went over
many aspects of the Swap Meet, and again
asked for assistance in an array of areas.
Steve Barrett then took the floor to speak
about the possibilities for the road tour that he
is organizing for our chapter. He had three
main ideas; a trip to Madison Indiana, a
Poker Rally, or a trip to the Wilmington Flying
Mile. Steve will keep us informed as the
possibilities are narrowed down, and he
assured us that he will need some assistance
as we get closer to the Summer.
Steve Hack then took the floor and mentioned

was at 414 E. Court St. Cincinnati, Ohio. This

Having a memory filled with all sorts of
useless trivia, I said : "BINGO", that is my VIN
#......
Within one hour, I had received an email from
the original owner with photos and a copy of
the order and a write up ordering the car. He
provide all sorts of other info about the car.
To much to bore you with in this email. He is
a retired doctor and is 71 years of age.
Bruce Slattery always wanted to build
one of these.
We have shared numerous emails since then
and he is planning a visit to my home to see
the car, Seems he proposed to his wife of 46
years in this car, They are both very excited
to be reconnected with the 1961.
Swap Meet 2012

This was one of our most successful swap
Meets. Here is a picture of a very happy Jim

Dave Klotter Finds Original
Owner
…… Dave Klotter
Dale Maris is a big part of this adventure.
It started with him writing a note in his
February 6th communication. It went like
this: “I found out that someone on the
NCRS Technical discussion Board has
some original documentation for a '61
Vette sold here in Cincinnati. If you own
this car, here is the post from the
discussion board.”
I have a copy of the dealer invoice and
purchase order for a 1961 Corvette VIN
10867S 108541. The original owner lives
around the corner from me and ran
across this paper work in his father’s files
If you cannot see the picture clear enough to
see the word SOLD on the note hanging from
the hood of Jim’s truck you might not
understand his smile. Jim built this truck from
scratch. We have a lot of talent in the
QCNCRS and Jim is one of our best. He also
has recently restored a Barracuda. His latest
project is an antique English motorcycle.

Gary has created a high amount of both
raffle income and just plain fun. He
certainly has style. Thank you Gary.
These ladies are very critical members of our
QCNCRS Swap Meet Team …. They feed
us. And they do it every year .. Thank You!!
