Message From
RMFL Commissioner
Welcome to the 2014 RMFL season! For a variety of reasons, this year promises to be one of the most exciting in
the 19-year history of the RMFL. I am especially excited about the new AAA/AA format, including 16 AAA RMFL
teams (4 in Montana, 4 in Idaho, & 8 in Utah), and 8 AA RMFL teams (4 in Idaho, 2 in Utah, 1 in Montana, 1 in
Nevada). Because of the way we have scheduled each team according to results from the previous year, I believe
we will have more parity in the RMFL than ever -- and that means more exciting games for you, the fan!
I am also very excited about the weekly RMFL podcast with our new "Game of the Week" feature. The podcast has
been extremely popular with over 1,000 views per episode, and I believe it will continue to get bigger and better
and will be an excellent and easy way for fans to not only find updates on their teams, but the entire RMFL.
Finally, I'm just looking forward to another year of RMFL football. All of the hard work that the General Managers
and players have put in during the off-season will once again be on display for the fans. In the RMFL, we don't
pretend to be something we're not. We're all adults with jobs and families; for us, this game is our love and our
passion -- not how we make our living. But the camaraderie we build and the experiences we have in the RMFL is
immeasurable. We know that wouldn't be possible with the generous support of our sponsors, our fans, and our
communities. Thank you!
Brad Thurber

ARCO ANARCHY
AAA IDAHO DIVISION
2014 TEAM PREVIEW – The Arco Anarchy will return to the AAA ranks for the 2014 season.
Arco’s 2013 season left them short of a championship run as they fell in the first round of the
playoffs to the Great Falls Gladiators, 26-8 after a solid 6-2 regular season. The team looks to
push further as a AAA competitor, which will be increasingly difficult with more travel involved
this season than last. GM Rye McAffee leads his team to their fifth RMFL season and will
continue the successful tradition he has created in Arco, Idaho.

TEAM PREVIEW CONTINUED
Offensively, the Anarchy will bring back their dependable weapon in Bryndan Belnap at the quarterback position. Belnap has the ability to
both pass and run the ball when necessary. Last season, he completed 37 of his 92 pass attempts for 708 yards and seven touchdowns. His
running abilities produced 122 yards on 24 carries and three touchdowns. Belnap will have a new target to throw to this season with the
addition of 2009 RMFL MVP, Brandon Peebler, who was a member of the Idaho Falls Mustangs of the AAA that season. Peebler has the
athleticism to play any position needed. In 2009, he caught 40 passes for 882 yards and four touchdowns. The addition of former Magic
Valley Bulldawg receiver Brad Cook will also add to the passing attack. Cook was one of the top receivers in the RMFL last season with 483
yards on 35 catches and seven touchdowns. Look for the Anarchy to improve their passing game drastically with the addition of both
Brandon Peebler and Brad Cook.
The Anarchy boast one of the top offensive lines in the league and you should expect a heavy dose of ground and pound. Last season they
produced a total of 1,642 yards on the ground, which was an average of 205 yards per game. The leader of the rushing attack is Russ
Cummins, who rushed for 575 yards on 94 carries and 12 touchdowns. He was awarded the 2013 RMFL AA rushing title for his performance
over the season. The team’s Wing-T formation will also include their young addition in running back Brandon Pearson, who was unable to
make all of the Anarchy games last season. In the few games he was able to compete, Pearson ran for 170 yards on 19 carries and three
touchdowns. Pearson has the ability to run in the Wing-T formation, or be placed in the slot for patterns. Anarchy’s offense was able to score
the second most points in the RMFL AA last season, and look to continue their run as a high-powered threat.
Defensively, the Anarchy were part of an elite group for the 2013 RMFL season. They allowed just nine points a game, and produced many
impact starters in their 3-4 set. The two standout veterans returning from last season are linebacker Jeb Harrison and defensive end Kenny
Surber. Jeb Harrison is a classic hard-knock player who enjoys the game, and is a talent at his position. In the 2013 RMFL season, Harrison
had 19 tackles, a sack, and a fumble recovery. He was also utilized on offense as a lead blocker for Cummins in the Wing-T. Harrison is no
stranger to contact and is always found to be in on most defensive plays. Kenny Surber is one of the most revered players in his position.
Surber has been the team sack leader in nearly every season with the Anarchy. He brings both speed and size to the position that will create
countless problems for offenses.
Arco’s defensive unit will have the additional talents of all-purpose star Koby Spencer this season as well. Spencer is a former Magic Valley
Bulldawg, who was placed on the field at the receiver and defensive back positions. The defense will utilize Spencer’s talents in the 2014
season, with hopes to help bring the team past the first round of the playoffs toward their first championship.
The Arco Anarchy will begin their journey in Caldwell, Idaho against the Idaho Matadors on Saturday, April 5.
BILLINGS BULLETS
AAA MONTANA DIVISION
2014 TEAM PREVIEW – The Billings Bullets are returning for their third season as an RMFL
franchise and will be moving up to AAA. Jeff Kumpula, head coach and owner of the Bullets,
looks to bring the team further into the playoffs. Last season, the Bullets came up short in the
first round as they fell to the Idaho Matadors by a final of 14 to 20. The Bullets finished the
season as co-Montana Division Champions of the RMFL AA with a record of 7-1. They were
eighth in both team offense and defense. Many of the key leaders on both sides of the ball will
be returning for another RMFL season.

BILLINGS BULLETS
TEAM PREVIEW CONTINUED
Offensively, the Billings Bullets will be led by receivers Blake Boston and Richard Treiber, offensive lineman Seth Brush and running back
Justin Ellis. Boston, a local product out of West High in Billings will return for his second season after leading the team in receiving yards.
He is still in search of a touchdown reception in his young RMFL career. Boston will be joined at the receiver position by an athletic player
in Richard Trieber, who is entering his third year as a starter. Trieber was second in receiving yards for the team with 229 yards and three
touchdowns. He is known for his outstanding performance as a punt returner and defensive back. He will be more limited in his impact on
offense, as Kumpula will be utilizing his skills on the defensive side of the ball.
Other stars on offense include OL Seth Brush and RB Justin Ellis. These two worked together last season to help the Bullets gain most of
their offense on the ground. Seth Brush will be in his second RMFL season with the Billings Bullets. Last season, Brush aided the offensive
unit in recording 849 rushing yards. Kumpula will now look to bring in a new star for the team in running back Justin Ellis, who will be
coached by a former Bullets running back Robbie Lindsay. Ellis was a part of a monster cast of backs last season, but looks to create a name
of his own this season. New faces include OL Wade Muri of Billings Skyview High, QB Braden Hitz of Lovell High in Wyoming, as well as
Hitz’s teammate Josh Basset.
The defensive unit will return plenty of stars, such as S Tusi Ah-Mai, NT Joshua Gruell, and converted LB Brandon Jolley. Tusi Ah-Mai is a
respected safety in the RMFL, as he is always the talk of the gridiron. Ah-Mai is in his third RMFL season out of Rocky Mountain College
and recorded 6 TFL, 2 sacks, FF and was fifth on the team in tackles with 24. Both Tusi Ah-Mai and Richard Trieber will look to make an
impact in the defensive backfield for the 2014 Billings Bullets.
Gruell (DL coach) will look to make yet another impact in his third year for the Bullets. Gruell was a 2013 RMFL All-Star and made his
presence known in the offensive backfield, recording 3.5 sacks, 19.5 tackles, 8.5 tackles for loss, and two fumble recoveries.
Another impact player on defense will be converted LB Brandon Jolley, who played the majority of the 2013 season at DE where he
recorded 18.5 tackles, 3.5 TFL, and three sacks. Jolley will enter his sophomore campaign after making the all-star game in his rookie
season. His new role on the defense will allow him to mobilize coverage and blitz packages for more impact. Other new faces on defense
include CB Tyler Bispo of Billings West High, LB Isaiah Singer of Haskel Indian Nations College, and FS Greg Bennett of Powell High.
The Bullet defense will make noise in the RMFL this season with returning starters and new faces to aid in the team’s effort to play in the
2014 RMFL Championship. 2014 season opener will be in Jerome, Idaho against the Magic Valley Bulldawgs on Saturday, April 5.
BOISE GENERALS
AAA IDAHO DIVISION
2014 TEAM PREVIEW – The Boise Generals will join the AAA level after an incredible
championship run in the 2013 AA season. Boise finished the regular season with an 8-0 record
and earned another three victories in the playoffs, topping it off with a championship victory
over the Great Falls Gladiators, 34-12. This season, Head Coach Jerry Smith and the Generals
will look to keep their winning streak active without arguably their best player in league MVP
B.J. Rhode who passed for 2,327 yards and 33 touchdowns. The 2014 team will be without
several stars from 2013, but Smith and his talented receivers will be prepared for the challenge.

BOISE GENERALS
TEAM PREVIEW CONTINUED
To begin the pre-season analysis of the Boise Generals, we will examine the key offensive starters. The receiving trio of Jerry Smith, TJ
Acree and Britt Hall lead a high octane passing attack. In the 2013 season, Acree caught 21 passes for 423 yards and three touchdowns and
earned the 2013 RMFL AA Championship MVP. Britt Hall was second on the team for receptions and yards with 44 catches for 694 yards
and 10 touchdowns. Hall’s performance last season was phenomenal, but still second to the output of the coach. Jerry Smith caught 53 passes
for 865 yards and 15 touchdowns. Smith received numerous post-season accolades, which included Receiving Champion, Scoring
Champion, and League Offensive MVP.
A season of rebuilding may be in the works, as replacing the big shoes of Rhode will be no easy task. Enter, new QB Christopher Bisgaard
who will look to get the ball quickly to his offensive playmakers. Bisgaard will be backed up by former Matador QB Tom Bennett. Also
joining the team in his first season is RB Daniel Jenkins. The Generals solemnly use their run game on offense, but when they need someone
to step up, Jenkins will be the player to show his abilities in the ground attack. The loss of Rhode will be felt, but Boise has plenty of
firepower in their offensive unit to light up the scoreboard.
Quentin Bates takes over the defensive side of the ball as new coordinator. As a defensive back Bates was second on the team in tackles with
29.5 and tied for first in tackles for loss with 3.5. Bates also added two sacks, four interceptions, two forced fumbles, a fumble recovery, and
a punt return for a touchdown (71 yards) to his 2013 season.
The General defense will also include two other impact players in linebacker Brooks Engstrom and defensive lineman Tom Ross. Brooks
Engstrom led the team last season in tackles with 35.5, while including one tackle for loss, one sack, and an interception. The defensive line
will be led by Tom Ross, who had 16 tackles, 4.5 for loss, 3.5 sacks, an interception (touchdown), and a fumble recovery in the 2013 RMFL
season.
Boise is determined to continue their success on both sides of the ball this coming season. Their journey toward back-to-back championships
begins in Missoula, Montana against the Montana Blaze on Saturday, April 5.
BRIGHAM STING
AAA UTAH NORTH DIVISION
2014 TEAM PREVIEW – The Brigham Sting will join the RMFL AAA in their second year.
Brigham jumped into the scene with a 7-1 AA record in their first season, but fell short in the
first round of the playoffs to the Magic Valley Bulldawgs, 37-36. Head Coach James Eyre led
the team to a successful season along with star quarterback Brad Thurber. “Our goals are the
same as everyone this time of year. Win a championship,” stated Coach Eyre. “Outside of that
we would like to grow into a true AAA team and be able to compete with the best in the league.
Show improvement every week.”

BRIGHAM STING
TEAM PREVIEW CONTINUED
Offensively, the Brigham Sting have a handful of players returning from the 2013 season. Dual threat escape artist QB Brad Thurber returns
after completing 61 of his 155 pass attempts for 1,020 yards, while adding nine touchdown passes. Also making an impact for the Sting is
running back Jesse Balls who led the team with 320 rushing yards on 66 carries and six touchdowns. He makes an effective target for
Thurber when it comes to screens or check-down routes. The Brigham Sting were one of the top rushing teams in the RMFL last season, as
they accumulated a total of 1,156 yards and averaged 144 yards per game.
Coach Eyre looks to balance the team’s offensive philosophy. “Last year we ran the Flexbone offense, which is primarily a run-first offense.
We will still use it, but this year we have added our own version of the spread in hope of being able to compete at the AAA level.” This new
spread look will feature two of Thurber’s impact targets from last season in receivers Mike Cook and Justin Dominguez. Cook led the team
with 21 receptions for 334 yards and 4 touchdowns. Dominguez had the second most on the team with 13 receptions for 252 yards and 3
touchdowns.
Other impact players include receivers Trel Fonnesbeck and David Carter, running back Romone Washington, and offensive linemen Richard
McGowen and George Pauni. Richard McGowen who played for Snow College will play OT in his first season in the RMFL and replace
Cam Carter, who moved to Arizona. The Sting will look to replace star RB Dave Williams with a group of Ramone, Christian Kasyan, Shay
Kaleikini, and Greg Christian.
An impressive Sting defensive unit (allowed 9 points per game) will return several impact starters for the new season including; LB Tony
Belford, DE Andrew Augustus, DE Adam Pixton, and safeties Dale Nicholas and Greg Williams. Belford impacted the league last season
with a monstrous 51.5 tackles, 13 for loss, two sacks, two interceptions, four forced fumbles, one fumble recovery, and four blocked kicks.
Belford was a AA All-Star and the 2013 Defensive Player of the Year in the eyes of many who watched his amazing performance on the
field. Augustus accounted for 15.5 tackles last season, and was second on the team in sacks with 3.5. The defensive backfield include
Nicholas and Williams who led the team with three interceptions. Also watch for Williams to make an impact in the special teams. Coach
Eyre also raved about new CB Wes Rees. “He is very fast and very football smart. He should have a breakout year for us.”
Brigham will also include CB Muhammad Miller, LB Jimbo Adams, and DL Preston Call to their line-up. Rees and Miller will be brought in
to replace their loss of All Star CB Justin Hugie.
The Brigham Sting will begin the season on the road against the Rocky Mountain Mudd Ducks in Bountiful, Utah on Saturday, April 5.
DIXIE REBELS
AAA UTAH SOUTH DIVISION
2014 TEAM PREVIEW – The 2014 Dixie Rebels will have a very different look this year
featuring 26 players that were not with the team last year. Some of the new players, like former
defensive MVP Vince Feula, and fellow defensive end Siaosi Umi are former Rebels who have
been on hiatus while others are entirely new to the league. In 2013 the Rebels finished the
regular season 6-2, and defeated the Wasatach Revolution in the semi-finals 28-3. In the AAA
Championship, the Rebels fell short to the Utah Stealth, 31-28. The team from Southern Utah
will look to return to the championship with hopes of reversing those results in a much larger
AAA division in 2014.

DIXIE REBELS
TEAM PREVIEW CONTINUED
Offensively the Rebels will feature a fast-paced, no-huddle spread offense with a stronger emphasis on the run game to take advantage of the
large talent pool at running back, and the new and improved offensive line. In 2013, the Rebels led the AAA in both passing and rushing
yards from scrimmage, and were responsible for scoring the most points as well.
Returning for the Rebels is league rushing leader Sione Tapuosi, who ran the ball 95 times for 484 yards and added four touchdowns in 2013.
He will be joined in the backfield by the shifty Rimo Mapu in a two-back pistol formation. Villiami Hafoka will alternate between running
back and slot receiver to take advantage of his speed and athleticism.
At quarterback the Rebels have a healthy competition brewing between newcomer Alec Mecham and veteran Chad Draper, both of whom
are very accurate passers. Last season, Draper completed 109 of his 176 pass attempts for 15 touchdowns and 1,765 yards (1st in AAA,
2013). The Rebel receiving corps returns veterans James Thompson, Brennan Adams and speed-burner Tanner Wood, along with all-purpose
receiver Phil Mcleod. Adams led the team with 26 catches for 467 yards and five touchdowns and Wood was also a key target last season
with his 27 catches for 452 yards and four touchdowns. Tight ends Jordan Loo and Bobby Robledo give the Rebels two additional big targets
that can also block. The Rebels offensive line features several promising newcomers in Logan Stott, Mark Egbert, and Wes Kauvaka.
Returning veterans Leon Wood, Stryder Hurd, and Keison McMurray will provide valuable experience and leadership along with playercoach Tom Semmens.
Once again the Rebel defense is expected to be very strong. This year they will feature a 4-2-5 base front, which will be anchored by a
stalwart defensive line featuring Vince Feula and Siaosi Umi. The last time Vince Feula played was in 2012 when the Rebels fell short to the
Wasatch REVolution, 16-10, in the first round of the RMFL Playoffs. That season, Vince Feula recorded 25 tackles, 8.5 for loss, and seven
sacks (second on team). The Rebel defense will also include newcomers Benson Laumatia, Gerald Sua and Russell Hunt at the tackles. The
linebacker corps will also be solid with Kaleo Teriipaia, Stephan Cook, DJ Vargas and Doug Roberts all in the mix. Teriipaia had 17 tackles,
three for loss, and one sack last season. Vargas made 28 tackles, one for loss, one sack, and a forced fumble in 2013. In the secondary, hardhitting safeties Brandon Thompson and Misi Tupe both return, along with corners Trey Smith and Dom Vargas. Thompson recorded 32
tackles, one for loss, one sack, and an interception returned for a touchdown (50-yards) last season. Trey Smith made 18 tackles, three
interceptions (one touchdown), and a fumble recovery in 2013.
The Dixie Rebels will begin their newest quest for the title on Saturday, April 5 against the Wasatch Revolution in St. George, Utah.
GREAT FALLS GLADIATORS
AAA MONTANA DIVISION
2014 TEAM PREVIEW – The Great Falls Gladiators return to the AAA level for the 2014
season. Last season, the Gladiators made a dominant run in the AA with a regular season record
of 7-1. Led by QB Shane Jurasek and a strong defense, the team earned home playoff victories
over the Arco Anarchy and Magic Valley Bulldawgs. However, the season came to an end when
the team traveled to Western Idaho and faced the Boise Generals in the AA Championship game
losing 34-12, in that game. The 2014 RMFL season may be another rebuilding session for the
team as a AAA competitor with the loss of players such as Shane Jurasek and Brian Buckreus,
who are current members of the Montana Blaze.

GREAT FALLS GLADIATORS
TEAM PREVIEW CONTINUED
Leading the offense in 2014, the Gladiators have placed Antney Rhanes at the quarterback position. Rhanes played the position last season
for a few games before Jurasek returned from injury. Rhanes’ rushing abilities were utilized in the team’s form of the Wildcat formation. This
allowed him to gain the team’s second most rushing yards with 111 on 30 carries, while also adding two rushing touchdowns. Rhanes is also
a talented defensive back and aides in that position when the team is short a player. He will be joined by a new back-up quarterback in
Leighton Montgomery as well.
The Gladiator ground attack will once again be led by the instrumental running abilities of Matthew Kennerson who gained 394 yards on 93
carries and scored five touchdowns. Kennerson is also a good receiver out of the backfield as he recorded 20 receptions for 120 yards. He
will be joined by a talented back-up in Vick Shanks, who was also a member of the AAA Gladiator team in 2012. These two backs look to
create an impact for the depleted Gladiator offense.
In the receiving corps, the Gladiators will have to rely on the outstanding talent of Marshane Haynes who achieved 553 yards on 33
receptions and 13 touchdown receptions (second in RMFL). The speed and route running abilities of Haynes creates a deep threat for the
offense. Great Falls will also add a new receiver in David Tate to help Marshane on the opposite side.
The Gladiator defense will once again be led by legendary RMFL veteran Mike Pease at linebacker who recorded a team high 34.5 tackles,
3.5 TFL, a sack, a forced fumble, and two fumble recoveries. Pease has been a part of the Great Falls Gladiators since the team was
resurrected by RMFL Commissioner Brad Thurber in 2004. He has experience in the AAA as both a linebacker and a fullback. His leadership
and abilities on the gridiron will help the Gladiator defense continue to be a competitor in the RMFL, even as a AAA team.
Great Falls will lose a few standout linebackers in Spencer Steiner and Steve Rice, but will have a returning starter in outside linebacker
Benard Ayon. Also joining Ayon is Aaron Chalmers and a full slate of defensive backs. These backs include veteran leader Reynard Dunn,
Robert Taylor, Josh Repko, and Donte Simpkins. Ayon made 21.5 tackles (team’s second most), seven tackles for loss (led team), five sacks
(led team), two forced fumbles, and two fumble recoveries. He adds speed and quickness to the Gladiator linebacker corps, and will continue
to make his presence known on the field. Dunn was responsible for returning an interception back from 25-yards out, and led the team in
pass deflections with eight. He will have the responsibility of leading his talented crew in the defensive backfield for the 2014 RMFL season,
including the new addition of cornerback Patrick Montgomery.
The Great Falls Gladiators will open the 2014 RMFL season at home against the Utah Stealth in Great Falls, Montana on Saturday, April 5.
IDAHO MATADORS
AAA IDAHO DIVISION
2014 TEAM PREVIEW – The Idaho Matadors will join the AAA ranks in 2014 under new
leadership. Fifth-year Matador Tom Dowers takes over the program from Jesus Jara along with
new General Manager Trevor Reece. Dowers joined the 'Dors in 2009 as defensive coordinator,
and last season helped lead the team to another winning season with a 6-2 record. After a first
round playoff victory over the Billings Bullets, the 'Dors were defeated in the semi-final round
by the Boise Generals, 31-14. The Matadors hope to push past the semi-final round, and finally
grab the championship they have been in search of in their nine years of RMFL existence.

General Manager: Trevor Reece Head Coach: Tom Dowers Based In: Boise, ID
IDAHO MATADORS
team preview continued
Mitch Bourner returns for his second season as quarterback. In his first season at the helm, the fiery former receiver had plenty of success
throwing for a team record 1,326 yards and 19 touchdowns. The speedy and agile Bourner also rushed for 418 yards and added another six
touchdowns. In 2014, a new, more fitting spread style offensive scheme will be put in place. “He has welcomed the pressure to lead his team
into the AAA, and has nothing but a championship on his mind,” said Reece.
The top two targets will return for Bourner in WR Chris Bailey (23 receiving, 463 yards, 9 TD) and All Star TE Justin McNicholl who had a
breakout season collecting 24 receptions, 447 yards and scored three times. The team will welcome Cal McQueary, who played college
football in Montana and joins the team as a very precise route runner who has great hands and speed to burn. The spread will favor the likes
of McQueary and Bourner – but look for some big plays from newcomers Tri Nguyen, Joe Daily and Andrew Walker in a league full of
talented quarterback/receiver tandems. As for the strong Matador rushing attack, the team looks to replace the talents of RMFL great
Anthony Pomerlee. Rory Fawley who led the rushing attack in 2013 has moved to the defensive side of the ball. Newcomers Sammy
Camacho and Ryan Verwey will join Donald White and Eriq Warren in the backfield. Each of these athletes impact the game in their own
way: speed, power, receiving, and blocking. Some will break facemasks and others will break ankles. The offensive line has added much
needed depth and will boast new talent heading into the AAA grind. New tackle Justin Garcia will join All Star guard Cory Dickard on the
left side of the line. Meanwhile newbie Chris Martinez will join his father Rob on the opposite side. In 2013, the second best offense in the
AA gained 2,754 yards with 1,400 of those yards coming on the ground.
Leading a capable defensive unit will be LB David Wilson, DE Alex Reed, DT Nathan Vis, along with defensive backs Nick Russell,
Donniqtay Campbell and Tom Dowers. The defense allowed just 47 points – second best in the league. On the D-line Reed posted 14 tackles,
four sacks, a pick six (35-yards), three forced fumbles, and recovered two fumbles. Reece spoke highly of Reed, “He bends and gets around
the corner very well, and has great hands.” All Star DT Vis netted 30.5 tackles, 10.5 tackles for loss, eight sacks (led team), two forced
fumbles, and recovered three fumbles (led team). In 2013, LB Wilson led the team in tackles (54.5), TFL (16.5), and forced fumbles (6).
Wilson was also accountable for three interceptions and will be the nucleus of what the Matadors refer to as “The Dark Side.” Their
defensive backfield returns the lethal tandem corners in Russell and Campbell. Russell led the team with 7 interceptions and Campbell was
slightly behind with his own 5. These two lock-down corners make it difficult to create an efficient passing attack. Patrolling the defensive
grounds will be perennial league all star Tom Dower who finished the 2013 season with 30 tackles, 6.5 for loss, 3 sacks, and 3 interceptions
(56-yards, one touchdown). Dowers has gained the respect of his peers and will now look to establish himself and his ‘Dors at the AAA level.
The Idaho Matadors will begin their journey at home against the Arco Anarchy in Caldwell, Idaho on Saturday, April 5.
LAUREL LOCO EXPRESS
AAA MONTANA DIVISION
2014 TEAM PREVIEW – The expansion Laurel Loco Express will be joining the RMFL in
2014 and as a member of AAA conference. Many of the current members of the Loco Express
are former members of the Billings Bullets, including Head Coach Ken Blankenship. The Loco
Express are based out of Laurel, Montana, which sits just 10 miles west of Billings. It is a
smaller community than Billings, but shows great potential for hosting a semi-pro organization
from the RMFL. This representation was created by the players, and is now run by those same
players under the leadership of a board of peers. Ken Blankenship wants to make an impact in
the RMFL as a first-year team, and will finally have that opportunity this season.

LAUREL LOCO EXPRESS
team preview continued
On offense, the Express look to bring in a new quarterback to the RMFL in Dakota DesJarlais. This young athlete is from Laurel, Montana
and will look to create an impact in his hometown as an RMFL player. The offensive unit will be mostly anchored by their outstanding run
game that features star backs like Jamel Scott and Mike Spence, which will be protected by center Billy Mack. Last season, these three
players were a part of the Billings Bullets organization. They were responsible for creating positive yardage on offense, and had most of the
team’s 849 yards on the ground. Jamel Scott ran for 410 yards on 74 carries and scored six touchdowns in 2013. Scott was also an
outstanding returner on the opening kickoff where he racked in almost 300 yards. Mike Spence is listed as the team’s fullback, but runs the
ball more like a halfback. He has the ability to find the open slot to run the ball through, and is also an effective lead blocker when it comes
to handing the ball to Scott. Last season, Spence ran for 332 yards on 72 carries and also scored six touchdowns to tie Scott for team leader.
Both running backs have experience under Blankenship, and will once again look to create havoc in the backfield.
The defensive unit will have many RMFL veterans to add to their roster. These individuals include defensive back Chad Hofmann,
linebackers Matt Groff and Levi Evjene, and defensive end Josh Bickham. Chad Hofmann is a former star defensive player for the Billings
Bullets. Last season, he led the team in sacks (4.5) and forced fumbles (4) due to his quickness in shooting off the outside edge on blitz plays.
Hofmann had the team’s second most tackles with 44 and also had seven for loss, a pick six (46-yards), and a fumble recovery. His two
supportive members on the defense will be linebackers Matt Groff and Levi Evjene. Groff was one of the RMFL’s most outstanding players,
especially in the state of Montana. In 2013, he led the team in tackles (47), tackles for loss (9), and fumble recoveries (3). Groff also added
two sacks, a pick six (14-yards), and a forced fumble to his performance in 2013. He was also placed at the tight end position a few times as
an offensive weapon. Both passes he caught were for touchdowns, including a 70-yard play against the Gladiators.
Levi Evjene is another star linebacker joining the Express. In the 2013 season, Evjene was a member of the Gallatin Valley Snow Devils and
one of the team’s best athletes on both sides of the ball. Evjene had 19 tackles, 2.5 for loss, a sack, and a forced fumble for the Snow Devil
defense. As far as his offensive capabilities, the star player was able to gain 138 yards on 47 carries and added a touchdown reception.
Evjene’s athleticism on both sides of the ball will help the Express defense become one of the most difficult to face in the AAA.
The Loco Express will begin the 2014 RMFL season at home against the Logan Stampede in Laurel, Montana on Saturday, April 5.
LOGAN STAMPEDE
AAA UTAH NORTH DIVISION
2014 TEAM PREVIEW – The Logan Stampede will enter the 2014 RMFL season as a new, but
old team. Their last season as an organization was 2012 when they had both a AA and a AAA
team competing in the league. Both teams lost in the first round of the playoffs, as the AA
Stampede fell to the Matadors, 16-42, and the AAA Stampede lost to the Utah Valley Stealth,
27-20. The AA organization had Brad Thurber at the quarterback position, which will now be
playing against his old team as the starting quarterback for the Brigham Sting. Owner Dave
Curtis looks to revitalize the program as one united AAA team.

LOGAN STAMPEDE
team preview continued
Offensively, the Logan Stampede will bring back their AAA quarterback, Mike Jenkins, to lead. In 2012, Jenkins led the team to a 3-6 record
and completed 37 of his 64 pass attempts for 506 yards. Jenkins added five touchdown passes and a rushing touchdown. One of Jenkins’
targets from 2012, Jesse Yarger, will also be returning for the Stampede. Yarger caught nine passes for 98 yards and a touchdown in the 2012
RMFL season. His contribution will increase this season with the team’s new status as a AAA contender. The Stampede also look to bring in
Jordan Smith at the running back position. In 2012, the Stampede averaged 131 rushing yards a game. Smith will have a fresh start on the
Stampede, and as an RMFL athlete trying to compete against the many talents the league has to offer.
The Logan defense will be anchored by its leaders in defensive linemen Travis Davis and Tanner Smith, linebackers Frank Martin and Beau
Pili, and defensive backs AJ Sanchez and Alphonso Thompson. Travis Davis had 17.5 tackles, four for loss, three sacks, and a blocked kick
in the 2012 AAA season. Tanner Smith made 28.5 tackles, four for loss, three sacks, and a fumble recovery in the 2012 AA season. These two
defensive linemen will help anchor the pass rush, and add pressure to any offense. Beau Pili led the 2012 AAA Stampede in tackles (34) and
forced fumbles (2). Pili also was accountable for two tackles for loss, two sacks, an interception, and a blocked kick in the 2012 AAA season.
Frank Martin is the team’s new addition from Wisconsin. He looks to help Pili at the linebacker position in both coverage and blitzing
schemes. AJ Sanchez will lead the defensive backfield this season. Sanchez was a part of the 2012 AA Stampede where he was responsible
for eight tackles, an interception, a forced fumble, and a fumble recovery. The Stampede look forward to a united AAA squad that will
contribute in every way similar to their performances on both 2012 teams.
Logan will begin the 2014 RMFL season on the road against the Loco Express in Laurel, Montana on Saturday, April 5.
MAGIC VALLEY BULLDAWGS
AAA IDAHO DIVISION
2014 TEAM PREVIEW – The Magic Valley Bulldawgs are entering year fifteen in the RMFL
and will be re-joining the AAA once again for the 2014 season. GM Juan Gonzales has brought
in a new head coach in Joey Martin to lead the organization toward success. Also joining the
team as a new addition to the coaching staff is Defensive Coordinator Shawn Wittenberg. Last
season, the Bulldawgs finished with a 6-2 record and got through a tough Brigham Sting team in
the first-round of the RMFL playoffs 37-36. Magic Valley was then defeated by the Great Falls
Gladiators, 46-22 in the semi-finals. The 2014 season will offer yet another game between the
Bulldawgs and Sting.

MAGIC VALLEY BULLDAWGS
team preview continued
Offensively, the Magic Valley Bulldawgs have returning starters in receiver Heyden Thacker and quarterback Travis Spring. Also, the
Bulldawgs will be welcoming the new addition of Josh Goddard. Heyden Thacker was a leader in the passing game last season with his 251
yards on 13 catches and three touchdowns and led the team with 13 receptions. He was also responsible for 192 yards and a touchdown in the
postseason, which mostly came during the game against the Gladiators. Travis Spring will be the Bulldawg’s quarterback this season, as he
shared snaps with Ryan Verwey (new member of the Idaho Matadors) for a portion of the 2013 season. Spring completed 82 of his 149 pass
attempts for 1,235 yards and 15 touchdowns. He looks to remain the team leader at the quarterback position with his trusted target in Heyden
Thacker. Josh Goddard is a new addition to the Bulldawg offense and was a member of the Mini-Cassia Diggers last season. Goddard was
placed at the quarterback position for the team where he completed 14 of 22 pass attempts for 192 yards and one touchdown. The Bulldawgs
will now utilize his abilities wherever they deem fit in their offense.
On defense, the Magic Valley Bulldawgs are bringing back two key RMFL veterans in linebacker Henry Lozada and defensive back Lonnie
Edwards. Tim Brayton will be the team’s additional defensive player that will look to make an impact for the team. Henry Lozada posted 26
tackles, a sack, and an interception in the 2013 RMFL season. Lozada is a tough competitor and strong team leader that will help the defense
become a AAA contender. Lonnie Edwards is an RMFL veteran at heart and a quick all-purpose player. Edwards is currently the Regional
Manager of Idaho for the RMFL, and is also a leader on the field anywhere he steps foot. Last season, Edwards led the team in carries (47),
rushing yards (263), and rushing touchdowns (4) on offense. His defensive abilities were utilized more during the playoffs, as the team faced
difficult road competition. Edwards was the only player to collect a sack in the playoffs, and was fifth on the team in tackles during that time.
The loss of Koby Spencer in the Magic Valley secondary will create more of a leadership role for Edwards on the defense this season. His
contributions to the team will increase as both an all-purpose offensive weapon and fast returner on special teams much to the same degree as
Spencer.
The Magic Valley Bulldawgs will open their season at home against the Billings Bullets in Jerome, Idaho on Saturday, April 5.
MONTANA BLAZE
AAA MONTANA DIVISION
2014 TEAM PREVIEW – The Montana Blaze are a strategic combination of former teams that
have competed in the RMFL in the Missoula Valley area. The former teams include the
Bitterroot Blaze, the Missoula Phoenix, and the Clark Fork Rush. Players from each team have
committed their time in uniting the Blaze and setting aside their differences from past seasons.
2014 – BACK IN ACTION
Ownership of the Montana Blaze will be assumed by Dr. Peter Hicks. The operations are run by
a board of five members that help create decisions within the organization by which are acted
upon by team ownership. Erik Peterson will assume the role as president of football operations
for the team. Each member has responsibilities that are viewed as highly important to the
organization and benefit those who are currently on the roster.

MONTANA BLAZE
team preview continued
Head Coach Tad Sheridan and Offensive Coordinator Jeff Evison look to lead the Blaze to yet another RMFL championship. The Blaze will
be led by RMFL veteran quarterback Shane Jurasek, who fell short in 2013 against the Boise Generals in the AA championship game. Last
season Jurasek finished fourth in the AA in passing, as he completed 90 of 140 passes for 1,257 yards and 20 touchdown passes. Buckie
Brawley, the Blaze all-purpose star and current team board member, will also be returning for another RMFL season and has played almost
every position on the field in his nine-year career.
Receiver Ceylon Elgin-Taylor and center Jared Taylor join the Blaze on the offensive side. Elgin-Taylor creates a favorable target for Jurasek
as he did during the 2012 AA championship season. In 2012 he caught 29 passes for 447 yards and 12 touchdowns. As for center Jared
Taylor, he has been an important part of many offensive units in his seven years in the RMFL. Taylor started in the league as center for the
Glacier Knights, where he played for five seasons until he signed with the Missoula Phoenix in 2012. This will be his first season with Shane
as his quarterback, which will add over 20 years of RMFL experience between the two.
Defensively, the Montana Blaze look to combine a group of talented RMFL veterans led by the coaching experience of former University of
Montana safety Dave DeCoite. One of these talented veterans includes defensive end Brian Buckreus. Last season, as a member of the Great
Falls Gladiators, Buckreus had 14 tackles, 3.5 sacks, a pick six, and two forced fumbles. Another star defensive player to watch for is
defensive lineman Jamar Galbreath, who was a former Missoula Phoenix running back. Although not utilized as a defensive player until the
middle of the 2013 season he finished with 21 tackles, 11 tackles for loss (led team), six sacks (led team), and three forced fumbles.
Other key players on the defensive unit for the Montana Blaze include linebackers Brandon Genthe, Bryden Vukasin, and Spencer Steiner.
Genthe is a returning starter from the former Missoula Phoenix, as is Bryden Vukasin. Last season, Vukasin was responsible for 33 tackles,
nine tackles for loss, 4.5 sacks, an interception, a forced fumble, and three fumble recoveries. Genthe recorded 22 tackles, three tackles for
loss, a sack, and a forced fumble. Injuries plagued Genthe mid-season, but this did not stop him from producing when he entered the contest
on Saturdays. Spencer Steiner has been in the RMFL for over ten years. He was a member of the Helena Titans, Bitterroot Blaze, and Great
Falls Gladiators. In 2012, Steiner won an RMFL championship as a member of the Blaze and was also the team leader in tackles with 29.5.
He was also responsible for 3.5 tackles for loss, a sack, a pick six, and a forced fumble. Steiner’s experience in the league as one of the top
competitors at the linebacker position will help create a powerful defensive unit for the Montana Blaze.
The Montana Blaze open the 2014 RMFL schedule against the Boise Generals in Missoula, Montana on Saturday, April 5.
ROCKY MOUNTAIN MUDD DUCKS
AAA UTAH SOUTH DIVISION
2014 TEAM PREVIEW – The Rocky Mountain Mudd Ducks remain in the RMFL as a AAA
competitor for the 2014 RMFL season. Last season, the Ducks finished on a winless note.
Current Head Coach Tyler Garcia joined the Mudd Ducks organization last season with the task
of rebuilding the team and bringing back the core values that owners Robert and Melissa Cagle
instituted in the beginning. At the end of last season, it was clear to Garcia that rebuilding was
going to take time and work. His first task was to “clean house,” as each player was given a
conditional release and told that in order to wear a Mudd Ducks uniform for the next season
they would have to re-commit to the values of teamwork and commitment. The next step was to
recruit new blood. This season marks a first for many players on the team’s roster.

team preview continued
Returning for the 2014 Mudd Duck offense are receiver Jeremy Mecham, running back Matt Murray, and veteran center Brandt Hunter. Last
season, Jeremy Mecham led the Mudd Ducks with 23 catches for 305 yards and two touchdowns. Mecham also returned 16 kickoffs for a
total of 401 yards. His talents will be utilized in the passing attack under new-found leadership in quarterback Ryan Flake. Matt Murray led
the team on the ground in the 2013 RMFL season with his 61 carries for 232 yards. The Mudd Duck offense accumulated a total of 1,487
yards of offense, which left them at the bottom among the five AAA teams last season. They will look to improve upon their offense in all
categories, including an increase in scoring.
Defensively, the Mudd Ducks will have several returning starters from last season. Some of which include Chris “Rozy” Rosales, JJ Galindo,
Mason and Bridger Dutton, Tyler Konesky, and Jeff Cluff. Mason Dutton led the 2013 Mudd Duck defense in tackles with 51.5. Chris
Rosales shortly trailed with 40 tackles and tied team leadership in fumble recoveries with two. JJ Galindo was the team’s sack leader with
3.5, and had the most tackles for loss with 15.5. Jeff Cluff’s 2013 performance was also atop the team leaders, as he was responsible for 28.5
tackles, six tackles for loss, and 2.5 sacks. The Mudd Duck defense will also welcome the new addition of Sika Ripley.
Probably no team is more excited about the addition of the 11 new teams in the AAA ranks. The Mudd Ducks have been competitive the
majority of the time and will look to make the most of the diverse field in the conference now available to them. Expect the ‘Ducks to lean
on their AAA experience of years past as they chase a successful football season.
The Rocky Mountain Mudd Ducks will begin their season at home against the Brigham Sting in Bountiful, Utah on Saturday, April 5.

resurrected the team in 2009. Last season, the Cobras lost only two games that were both against
their rival, the Brigham Sting. Unfortunately, the team was defeated by the Boise Generals, 287, in the first round of the playoffs. The 2014 RMFL season will bring a new opportunity to

TEAM PREVIEW CONTINUED
Utah’s offensive unit was led by quarterback Jordan Wager last season. His departure from the team will create a void, but will not stop them
from competing under a new leader. The Cobras will look toward veteran athletes, including running back Ty Talbot and receiver Illiott
Alexander, to lead the 2014 Cobra offense. Last season, Talbot led the ground game with 43 carries for 206 yards and four touchdowns.
Talbot also caught eight passes for 114 yards in his receiving contributions. Illiott Alexander led the receiving corps last season with 18
receptions for 429 yards and six touchdowns (led team overall).
Defensively, the Cobras will be returning their star veterans in safeties Chris Bratt and Matt Birrenkott, as well as defensive lineman Daniel
Jacobo. Last season, both Bratt and Birrenkott were the team leaders on defense. Bratt had 47 tackles (led team), 9.5 for loss, four sacks, two
interceptions, a forced fumble, a fumble recovery, and a blocked kick. Birrenkott reeled in 42.5 tackles, five for loss, a sack, three
interceptions (one touchdown), three forced fumbles, and two fumble recoveries. These two quick, hard-hitting safeties will look to take the
field once more and lead the Cobra secondary. Daniel Jacobo will be the anchor on the defensive line with speed and strength that make him
such an effective pass rusher. In the 2013 RMFL season, Jacobo was responsible for 36.5 tackles, 14.5 for loss (led team), 8.5 sacks (led
team), three forced fumbles, three fumble recoveries (one touchdown, led team), and a blocked kick. Jacobo adds talent to the line, as well as
leadership traits to the entire defense. Watch for these three athletes to join forces and create a tenacious group of defensive players in the
AAA this season.
The Utah Cobras will begin the 2014 RMFL season on the road against the Rocky Mountain Mudd Ducks in Bountiful, Utah on Saturday,
April 12.
UTAH SHOCK
AAA UTAH NORTH DIVISION
2014 TEAM PREVIEW – Kyto Khouangrasvongsay and his Utah Shock return for their 8th
season at the highest level in the RMFL. His group of talented players have been in the AAA
ranks since his team won the AA championship in 2006 as the Kamas Valley Muddogs . The
Shock are recognized as a consistent contender and have been itching for their first AAA title
and will look to fulfill their goal of winning one this season. In the 2013 RMFL season, the
Shock finished with a 7-1 regular season record, as their only loss came to the Wasatch
Revolution by seven points. In the postseason, the team fell short of championship glory, as they

UTAH SHOCK
TEAM PREVIEW CONTINUED
Offensively, the Shock look to run their traditional spread formation under the leadership of a new quarterback, Jordan Wager. As many
know, Wager was the starter for the Utah Cobras in 2013, who will continue his successful RMFL career as a member of the Shock. The
Shock hope to replace veteran quarterback, Jordan Kjar, who has played with the team for seven seasons. Wager’s targets include returning
stars Colby Cook, Matt Thornton, and Chris Hooper. Cook caught 16 passes for 140 yards and a touchdown, while Thornton hauled in 28
passes for 574 yards and eight touchdowns in 2013. Hooper would also have 16 receptions for 349 yards and three touchdowns. The Shock
passing attack will continue their success under new leadership. Their ground game will also have returning starter George Allums to carry
the ball. Allums led the team with 73 carries, 314 yards and six touchdowns last season, and will look to help the team balance their offense.
On defense, the Shock will return veteran starters in cornerback Keoni Barawis and linebacker Kelon Brooks. Barawis had ten tackles, while
Brooks was responsible for 32 tackles (led team), 1.5 for loss, a sack, two interceptions, and two forced fumbles in the 2013 RMFL season.
Brooks remains the team’s key defensive leader alongside owner Kyto Khouangrasvongsay, who also enjoys playing defense as a member of
the secondary. Kyto had 29 tackles, an interception, and a fumble recovery last season. The Shock were the first ranked defense in the AAA
and allowed just 15 points per game against some of the league’s most talented teams and players. Their defense will attempt to continue that
achievement, as they will be joined by eleven new members of the AAA for the 2014 RMFL season.
The Utah Shock begin their journey to the championship on Saturday, April 12 at home against the Brigham Sting.

UTAH STEALTH
TEAM PREVIEW CONTINUED
As one of the top defenses in the RMFL for the last five years, the Stealth will return a majority of their defensive starters and will be led by
RMFL veteran Jason Hermansen. Hermansen finished the 2013 regular season with 33.5 tackles, two sacks and a forced fumble as he led the
defense from the strong safety/nickel position. Also returning this year are lockdown corners Jay Junior and CJ Ubani who, in addition to his
registered INT’s, also racked up 28.5 tackles from his outside position. As a whole, the defense forced nine turnovers in 2013 including six
forced fumbles. The famous quote “defense wins championships” is definitely true for this team as the defense has been the key to the
Stealth’s success in recent years.
For many years the Stealth’s mantra has been that they continue to return the largest offensive and defensive lines in the league. Led by
Brandon Preece, Travis Brower, Nate Baptist, and brothers Simi & Vili Fili the linemen continue to be a force to be reckoned with. These
monstrous athletes will look to open gaping holes for the 2012 league-leading rusher IK Ubani and power back Matt Mann, who the Stealth
will turn to again in 2014 to balance their offensive attack. Both Ubani and Mann will be crucial pieces of the Stealth’s offense in 2014 both
running the football and receiving out of the backfield.
In the passing game the Stealth return their all-star receiver, Sam Thomas, who led the league last year in the regular season with 64
receptions (a league record), ten touchdowns, and 1,184 yards of receiving. Thomas will look to pick up most his yards this year from the
arm of newcomer, Steve Vincent, who joined the team midway through the 2013 season. Vincent finished second in passing yards and first in
league passing touchdowns. The Stealth also return a strong receiving core to assist Thomas. Dejay Lester who, due to being in and out of
professional NFL training camps, only played in five of the Stealth’s games and looks to be a reliable target for Vincent. Additionally, Colton
Stark who racked up 22 receptions for nearly 300 yards of receiving in 2013 will need to continue to step up as a go-to target.
Pre-season health issues and division rivals will look to keep the Stealth on their toes as they try to win ball games, but as a whole, the
Stealth look to be very strong coming into 2014 and will look to earn their third straight AAA title.
The Stealth begin the 2014 RMFL season on the road against the Great Falls Gladiators in Great Falls, Montana on Saturday, April 5.

WASATCH REVOLUTION
TEAM PREVIEW CONTINUED
Offensively, the Rev have several key members from the 2013 RMFL season returning for yet another year of competition. Former BYU
Quarterback Charlie Peterson returns to lead the offense and year after year continues to impress on the field. Last season, Peterson
completed 130 (led league) of his 216 pass attempts (led league) for 1,602 yards and 16 touchdowns. A pure pocket passer and with a quick
release, Peterson will look to his favorite target from last season, Joe Mapson who led the team in receptions (51), receiving yards (671), and
touchdown receptions (8) last season. Running back Ryan Lang will help anchor the ground game this season, as the team was led last season
by DeAngelo Branche. Lang was utilized at the receiver position in 2013, where he was responsible for 15 receptions for 163 yards and two
touchdowns. The speed and ball handling skills of Lang will help the ground game balance out Peterson’s aerial assault.
As for the defensive unit, the Rev are led by RMFL veterans Levine Tupe, Siolo Toala, and Angel Castillo. Levine Tupe led the team in
tackles last season with 51, and also had ten for loss, two sacks, and two interceptions. Tupe’s skills and leadership at the linebacker position
will help the Rev produce a tough unit, much like last season when the team finished second on defense for least points allowed in a season
in the AAA. Also joining Tupe at the linebacker position is Siola Toala. Last season, Toala was responsible for 27.5 tackles (second on team),
four for loss, a sack, and a blocked kick. Toala’s presence on the field is much the same as Tupe in that they both find themselves in on
nearly every defensive play. The team leaders are placed within the pads of these two athletes, which will benefit the Rev for their skills and
experience in the league. Lastly, the Rev look forward to the return of their star defensive back, Angel Castillo, who was responsible for 25.5
tackles and a forced fumble last season. Castillo also led the team in deflections with 12. He will help stabilize and lead the secondary, who
will own the difficult task of covering the many talented receiving corps this season.

TEAM PREVIEW CONTINUED
Leading the offensive unit from last season’s starters are quarterback Schuyler Sherwood, receivers Brannon Stacy and Chris Smart, and
running back Joey Ybarra. Sherwood completed 42 of his 84 pass attempts for 527 yards and two touchdowns. Most of his contribution came
in the ground game with his scrambling abilities. Sherwood led the team with 321 yards on 54 carries. Stacy is an all-purpose athlete that
saw time on both sides of the ball and just about every position possible. He caught seven passes for 110 yards and three touchdowns, while
also contributing in 14.5 tackles and 1.5 sacks.
Receiver Chris Smart will be Sherwood’s other favorable target. Smart led the team in both receptions (16) and receiving yards (204) last
season. He also has the ability to run the ball, as he showed his skills on long-yardage plays. Smart was able to gain 87 yards on 22 carries.
However, the team’s rushing attack is handled mostly by running back Joey Ybarra. Last season, Ybarra rushed for 117 yards on just 22
carries. His contribution to the team was far less than expected as quarterback Schuyler Sherwood ran the ball more than any ball carrier for
the Vipers. That could all change with the help of their offensive line, which averages a height of six foot, four inches and a weight of 300
pounds. The Vipers will look to balance between the run and gun style of football for the 2014 RMFL season.
Defensively, the Vipers look forward to the return of linebackers Kevin Slater, Josh Sides, and Brayden Hebdon. These were the top three
players on the Vipers last season, as they all had the most tackles on the team. Slater led the team with 44 tackles, and was also responsible
for 19 tackles for loss (led team), 5.5 sacks, and a fumble recovery. Sides had 24.5 tackles, 14 tackles for loss, and 10.5 sacks (led team).
Hebdon made 23 tackles, nine for loss, three sacks, and three forced fumbles for the team in the 2013 season.
Also contributing defensively for the 2014 RMFL season are safeties Marcus Robinson and Tommy Garber, defensive lineman Greg Wilson,
linebacker Dave Farley, and defensive back Wade Farrow. The talents of Greg Wilson will help the Viper defense accumulate sacks, and will
allow for confusing blitz packages. Last season, Wilson made 12.5 tackles, a sack, and a forced fumble. The likes of defensive backs such as
Marcus Robinson and Tommy Garber will help the team create turnovers against any receiving corps. Robinson led the team with two
interceptions and Garber trailed with his single interception. The Davis Vipers will be led by a cast of talented defensive players and the
knowledge of their coaching staff, which includes an RMFL veteran in Joe Murawa.
The Davis Vipers will begin their journey to the championship on the road against the Gallatin Valley Snow Devils in Belgrade, Montana on
Saturday, April 5.

ELKO WARRIORS
TEAM PREVIEW CONTINUED
Elko has yet to establish a productive offense in their existence – and the 2013 season was no exception. The team was shutout five times and
only averaged a paltry 72 yards per game. For the Warriors to answer the bell this season, serious changes will need to take place when they
hold the ball. The Warrior story has always been dominated by their tough and resilient defense.
The Warriors are led on the field by perennial All-Star defensive end Chris Rodriguez, who will now lead the offense at the quarterback
position. Rodriguez had 25.5 tackles, 10.5 for loss, and 2.5 sacks last season. The new additions to the team include running back Tye
Morris, receiver Marty Webster, and tackle Keith Beshea.
The team is anchored by two-time RMFL tackle champion middle linebacker Shane Thomas. Also joining the team is RMFL veteran Tray
Shelton (former Mini-Cassia Digger), Gary Patterson, and sack leader Joey Roberts. Shane Thomas had 49 tackles, eight for loss, two sacks,
a forced fumble, and a fumble recovery last season. Thomas is a field general on defense and a team leader that will help improve an already
impressive defensive unit. Joey Roberts adds defensive perspective with his ability to rush the passer and make plays in the offensive
backfield. Last season, Roberts created 29 tackles, 20.5 for loss (led RMFL), 14 sacks (led RMFL), two forced fumbles, and three fumble
recoveries. Roberts will look to lead both the team and the league in sacks yet again this coming season. With a cadre of new blood, a solid
core of impact players returning, and a favorable schedule the Warriors look forward to taking the field with a chance at bringing the
championship home to the desert.

GALLATIN VALLEY SNOW DEVILS
TEAM PREVIEW CONTINUED
Gallatin Valley’s offensive unit will return several key offensive starters; Ron and Riley Kurschner, running back James King, and offensive
lineman Ansel Traynor. Ron Kurschner was the starting quarterback last season. He completed 33 of 62 pass attempts for 453 yards including
two touchdowns. His favored target from last season, Riley Kurschner, will look to make yet another impact in the Snow Devil effort to
generate more offense than year’s past. Riley led the team in receptions and yards last season with 16 catches for 274 yards, but did not
account for any touchdowns.
The Snow Devil offense from last season was led by the ground attack of running back James King and powered OL Traynor. King
accounted for 287 yards and three touchdowns last season. Steve Kurschner and the Snow Devils have added some new faces to the offense
that will be used to help their current stars. Some of these include quarterback J.J. Dorsch, receiver Joe Reynen, and running back Jeremy
Gongora. Each of these Bozeman athletes look to improve the Snow Devil offense, which will add a new dimension to the tenacious defense
that Rogers unleashed last season.
The stout Snow Devil defense allowed only twelve points per game. Returning starters from last season are linebacker Josh Chavez,
cornerback Buddy Newville, defensive lineman Frank Cannon, and safety Kurtis Algard. Three of the four mentioned in the line-up were
2013 RMFL All-Star selections. Chavez will be an athlete found all around the gridiron, ranging from middle linebacker to lead blocker on a
run play. Chavez was instrumental in his first season as he led the team with 44 tackles, 5 tackles for loss, one sack, and two interceptions
(one touchdown). Just behind Chavez at the safety position is Kurtis Algard. “Sunshine,” as the team refers to him, has shined bright
throughout his RMFL career. Last season, Algard accounted for the team’s second most tackles with 29. He also added 4.5 tackles for loss,
two sacks (tied with team leader), four interceptions, a forced fumble, and two fumble recoveries. He has impacted the game in all
dimensions, and will be a returning threat to the Snow Devil return teams.
Also returning for another RMFL season is All Star cornerback Buddy Newville who shared top honors in the league with 8 interceptions.
Veteran Nose tackle Frank Cannon accounted for 10.5 tackles, 3.5 tackles for loss, a sack, and two fumble recoveries. Cannon is not only a
player, but also a coach on the field. The defense will be adding some new faces to the team, some with RMFL experience. Defensive tackle
Joshua Wallis of Montana Tech is the son of former Helena Titan Rich Wallis; linebacker Nick Alamia is a former star tight end for the
Helena Bearcats; and defensive back Tim Taylor is a former athlete for the Helena Titans/Bearcats.

TEAM PREVIEW CONTINUED
Gem State’s offensive unit will be powered by quarterback Jake Tolman, running back Jesus Rodriguez, and tight end Chris Beagley. Last
season, Jake Tolman completed three of his four pass attempts for 51 yards. Tolman was primarily used at the running back and receiver
positions in 2013. He led the team in receptions (15) and receiving yards (198), and also included a touchdown reception. Tolman’s
contribution to the team stretched to the defensive side of the ball, as he made 17 tackles. Jesus Rodriguez will be the replacement for star
running back Daniel Valadez. Last season, Rodriguez ran for 55 yards on 20 carries and made 9.5 tackles on defense at the linebacker
position. Chris Beagley will look to make an impact in the passing game, as last season he was plagued by injuries. Beagley caught just two
passes for nine yards last season.
The Guardians hope to welcome their new additional offensive weapons to the RMFL under the leadership of Offensive Coordinator Chuck
Rehdorf. Some of the new members on offense include center Sean Cole, tackle Josh Williams, and receiver Logan Katseanes. Offensive
linemen are vital parts to any team and are very difficult to find, especially in the RMFL. The two new linemen that the Guardians have
added will certainly bring positive reinforcement to their offensive scheme. Katseanes will also add to their passing game, as the Guardians
struggled to connect on long plays down field last season.
Defensively, the Gem State Guardians have much to look forward to in their new star at the outside linebacker position. Will Mello wants to
be that player to create a good first impression for the Guardians. The returning starters from last season include nose guard Reggie Jones
and free safety Pedro Rodriguez. Jones was the team leader on defense last season with his 31.5 tackles, three for loss, three forced fumbles,
and one fumble recovery. Rodriguez made 22 tackles last season for the Guardians. These two Guardian vets will help Wayne Tolman’s
defense grow in to a powerhouse throughout the 2014 RMFL season.
Linebacker coach Casey Cooley looks to help shape the team and their three new members at the linebacker position. Will Mello, Dwayne
Ball, and Cesar Lira are the new Guardians in Nampa ready to make an impact for the team. The Guardian defensive unit allowed 369 points
last season, which averages out to be 46 points per game. Their defense looks to improve upon their mistakes from last season and move

Offensively, the Lancers return RMFL All-Star linemen Rob Castlemen and Derek Self. Castlemen will move over from his left tackle
position to play left guard this season, while Self will remain at the center position. The Lancers welcome new members to the team in
running backs Emilio Curella and Ronte Eaton, tight end Jason Oostra, and quarterback Matt Ferguson. When healthy, the Lancers also

forced fumble. Starting cornerbacks Nick Crutcher and Danny Reyes also return. Reyes made an impact on the team in 2013, as he made 13
tackles and an interception. He was also the leading rusher on offense with 165 yards on 55 carries and one touchdown. Also returning from
2013 is free safety Josh Duty, who the coaching staff expects to be one of the best athletes in the AA this season. Duty is an all-purpose
competitor as presented from last season’s performance he offered at the quarterback, running back, receiver, and safety positions. The
Lancers will also have additional players joining the team this season with Cassidy Cook on the defensive line, Marcus Miller at inside
linebacker and Cody McConkey at strong safety.
The Idaho Lancers will begin the 2014 RMFL season on the road against the Idaho Mustangs in Shelly, Idaho on Saturday, April 5.

2014 TEAM PREVIEW – One of the original RMFL franchises will seek to rebuild in 2014 and
will compete in the AA conference this year. This will also mark the team’s seventeenth season
in the league. GM Mitch Dodge looks to lead the team back in to action after taking a leave of
absence from the game last season. His experience as both a manager of the team and player on
the field will help the Mustangs achieve greater expectations than last season. In 2013, the team
finished with a heartbreaking 4-4 record that set them out of the playoffs. The team is optimistic
in their run back to success.

TEAM PREVIEW CONTINUED
On offense, the Mustangs will bring Casey Merrill and Derric Clawson over from the defensive side and feature them in a revamped
offensive unit. The Mustangs will look to utilize the six-foot-six size of Merrill to anchor their backfield. Also joining Merrill on offense is
the team’s new quarterback, Ryan Schaat, who will add more speed to the unit. This will allow the team to run their multiple offensive
formations such as Pistol, I Form, and Spread. Schaat will have an impact target in receiver Derric Clawson who will add speed to the
spread, and will open up more passing threats for the Mustang offense.
The Mustang offensive backfield will be stacked with outstanding players much like last season when the team finished second in team
rushing yards overall. With the loss of an athlete such as Greg Hillary, the Mustangs look to bring the same mentality with the addition of
running back/receiver Trevor Meldrum. The last time Meldrum was a part of the RMFL was in 2012 when he played for the Arco Anarchy.
He led the team in carries (65), rushing yards (397), and rushing touchdowns (5). Meldrum was also a receiving threat for the Anarchy, as he
caught 20 (second on team) passes for 239 yards (second on team) and a touchdown. Schaat, Clawson, and Meldrum will add to the 2014
Mustang offense and will show steady improvement to their passing attack.
Defensively, the Mustangs will be anchored by RMFL veteran linebacker Mitch Dodge, as well as defensive lineman Burke Mouser and
defensive back David Pasquella. Mitch Dodge left the league last season due to personal reasons and will look to get back in form this
season. He played in the first-round playoff game against the Bitterroot Blaze in 2012 (L 34-6), and led the team with eleven tackles. Dodge
is expected to help lead the defensive unit under the coaching of Gale Danielson for the 2014 RMFL season. He has worked as the team GM
and has helped develop the sponsorship side of the organization alongside team owner Glen Leavitt.
The defense will also feature the veteran talents of former Upper Valley Viking defensive lineman Burke Mouser. Last season, Mouser
worked as the team GM for the Vikings out of Rigby, Idaho. The Vikings decided to join forces with the Mustangs to keep the team
generating for the 2014 season. In 2013, Mouser was a team leader with 30 tackles. He will be part of a powerful front four that looks to
apply pressure to any quarterback they face this season. David Pasquella is one of the forces behind the Mustang secondary. Last season,
Pasquella made 11.5 tackles and had a fumble recovery he took back for a touchdown (33-yards). He will add to the effort in leading both the
secondary and his team to victory on Saturdays.
The Idaho Mustangs begin their quest for another championship at home against the Idaho Lancers in Shelly, Idaho on Saturday, April 5.

GMs Bill and Kit Carney bring the team to their fourth RMFL season in the great community of
Burley, Idaho. The loss of head coach Doug Hughes will have Kit Carney replacing him at the
position. Mini-Cassia finished the 2013 RMFL season with a disappointing 2-6 record. The team
looks forward to turning their misfortunes from last season into pure optimism for the 2014

MINI-CASSIA DIGGERS
TEAM PREVIEW CONTINUED
Leading the offensive unit from last season will be AJ Hunter, Miguel Semintal, and Christian Valero. The two receiver threats in AJ Hunter
and Miguel Semintal will allow for an improved passing attack from the Digger offense. Last season, Hunter caught four passes for 84 yards
and also rushed for 87 yards on nine carries. He added a rushing touchdown and two pass completions to his long list of offensive
contributions. Hunter is also a star defensive athlete at the defensive back position. He accounted for the team’s second most tackles (32) and
led the team in interceptions (6). AJ Hunter will have to take leadership in the receiving corps with the loss of key starter Marco Avelar, who
was the team leader in receiving yards (139) and receiving touchdowns (2). Miguel Semintal will also have to assume a leadership role
alongside AJ Hunter at the receiver position. Semintal is seen more as a defensive player, but can also create plays on offense. Last season,
he rushed for 134 yards on 14 carries and had two touchdowns to help the team offensively. At the linebacker position, Semintal made 25.5
tackles, four for loss, two sacks, an interception, and blocked a kick. The team’s new addition at running back, Christian Valero, will also
look to make an impact to balance their offensive scheme. They expect a high tempo, quick passing attack, and a finesse running game. This
will all be placed in a new spread offense.
The Digger defensive unit has numerous veteran leaders returning for another RMFL season. These include cornerback Mark Olmos,
linebacker Miguel Semintal, and defensive end Freddie Brown. Mark Olmos was credited for 27 tackles, five for loss, a sack, and a forced
fumble. Olmos also led the team in pass deflections with 11. “Downtown” Freddie Brown will be brought in to help aid the Digger defense
in the sack department. Brown has a knack for rushing the quarterback, as his size is more of a bonus. He can also pose a threat on the
offense with his ability to catch and run, as well as his height that helps him tower over defensive backs. Freddie Brown is a former Gallatin
Valley Snow Devil and Helena Titan. Brown will help replace the loss of defensive lineman Tray Shelton, who will be playing the 2014
RMFL season with the Elko Warriors. Newcomers Juan Alvarado and Matt Jensen look to make an impact on the Digger defense. Alvarado
will help Semintal at the linebacker position, and Jensen plans to help the team at any position. The Digger philosophy is to unleash constant
pressure on the quarterback and add quick pursuit to the ball.
The Mini-Cassia Diggers begin the 2014 RMFL season at home against the Gem State Guardians in Burley, Idaho on Saturday, April 5.

Head Coach Lee Slaugh after 4 ½ successful years at the helm of the franchise as he has decided
to step down. This year founder and ex-player Jeremy Conetah will take the reigns as head
coach as the team strives towards its first Rocky Mountain Football championship.

UINTAH BASIN OILERS
TEAM PREVIEW CONTINUED
This will be the third level of football coaching that Conetah will have, as he has previously coached for Union High School and helped start
the Fort Duchesne Utes Youth Football Program. When asked about this coming season he stated, “I’m very excited to have the talent we
have in the program this year from the players to the coaches. I’m especially pleased with Defensive Coordinator Britt Colden Stubbs who
brings a great mind to the game from his time playing at Union and Southern Virginia University.” Last season, the Oilers finished with a 5-3
record, but missed the postseason due to the talents of the Utah Division. The team looks to make an impact in the AA this season as a
powerhouse among many in Utah.
On the offensive side of the ball, the Oilers look to be led again this season by quarterback Jake Ihde. He is a playmaker at the position that is
just as likely to outrun you as to beat you deep. Terry Shaw and Travis Maxfield look to catch passes from Ihde, while Colby Evans and
Colton Hemstreet look to carry the ground load. Ihde led the team in rushing yards (244) and rushing touchdowns (2) among many other
things. His favored target was Travis Maxfield, who led the team in catches (25), receiving yards (447), and receiving touchdowns (5). The
combination of Ihde and Maxwell, including the outlook that the Oilers will return all veteran linemen, makes the offensive system
implemented this year burst with optimism.
Defensively, 2012 RMFL AA Defensive Player of the Year Kenja Mapp will continue locking down receivers and ball carriers on his side of
the field. Safety Andy Key, who had some impressive interceptions and run backs last season, is also returning. When Mapp was asked how
he would approach the fact that most teams will not throw to his side his reply was, “I don’t pay no mind to that, I just do my part and do
whatever I can to help the team win.” A welcome sight this year is first year players, and also Marcel Borque and Ethan Beath. Coach Stubbs
describes Borque as “a beast” and “someone that teams will have to double team on every play.” As for Beath, he has the potential to be a
hard hitting free safety or corner depending on where exactly he will be needed this year on a defense that looks to keep its reputation as one
of the hardest hitting teams in the league.
The Uintah Basin Oilers will begin their 2014 campaign on the road against the Elko Warriors in Elko, Nevada on Saturday, April 5.
