doorways to another world. Your journey will take you through the emeraldgreen jungles of Panama and to a myriad of enchanting destinations: a lush rain
forest and rainbow-beaked toucans in Costa Rica, a new port—Cartagena,
Colombia, native dancers spinning their colorful blend of magic in Acapulco and
open-air markets in Cabo San Lucas. This sailing is unique--the 5 star world
class "Infinity" will follow an itinerary that goes from the Atlantic Ocean to the
Pacific, through 2 sets of locks and through Gatun Lake! This will be a truly
special trans-canal voyage.
The famed Panama Canal itself ranks among the world's greatest engineering feats--an army of 43,000 worked on it during
the peak of construction in 1913. Each lock is 1,000 feet long and 110 feet wide. Once a ship moves into the Gatun
Locks, the outer gates are closed and it is raised 85 feet in a series of three lock steps before entering Gatun Lake. After
passage through the lake, our ship will travel through Gaillard Cut, cruising between towering cliffs of rock, earth and
tropical jungle as it moves from the Atlantic Ocean to the Pacific.

summer of 2002. And, as you sail into the lush, exotic landscapes of the Panama

Day 1 Sail from Miami. Nestled on the Atlantic Ocean,
Miami’s gorgeous skyline is at the stern of your Celebrity cruise
ship as you begin your Panama Canal adventure. Meet your
fellow travelers and prepare for the cruise of a lifetime.
Day 2 At Sea.
Day 3 At Sea.
Day 4 Cartagena, Colombia. Founded in 1533, Cartagena is
the picture-perfect Spanish-colonial village.
Day 5 Panama Canal. Your ship will traverse the entire
Panama Canal from the Atlantic Ocean into Gatun Lake, through
Gaillard Cut to the Pacific Ocean.
Day 6 At Sea.
Day 7 Puntarenas, Costa Rica. Costa Rica is noted for its
friendly people and natural beauty preserved by enlightened
conservation methods and is home to 850 recorded bird species
including indigo-capped hummingbirds and toucans. It is a
tropical Eden of pristine beaches and unspoiled rainforests filled
with exotic birds and butterflies.
Day 8 At Sea.
Day 9 Puerto Quetzal, Guatemala.
Guatemala's largest
Pacific Ocean port, Puerto Quetzal offers a wealth of activities.
Discover Lake Atitlan, the deepest lake in Central America,
which is surrounded by three volcanoes. The area is rich in
Mayan history, as well as a fertile ground for coffee growing.
Day 10 At Sea.
Day 11 At Sea.
Day 12 Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.
Puerto Vallarta is a very
special destination due to its variety and contrasts...both
culturally and geographically. It is surrounded by the Sierra
Madre Mountains and the Pacific Ocean and is considered one of
Mexico’s ‘must see’ gems.
Day 13 Cabo San Lucas. Here on the Southern tip of Mexico's
Baja Peninsula, you'll discover a landscape of magnificent stone
arches carved by the sea. Stroll on white-sand beaches and
snorkel in blue-water bays.
Day 14 At Sea.
Day 15 San Diego, California. San Diego is home to the world
-class San Diego Zoo and Aquarium. We will be flying home
today.
