The SuperScreener concept and how it works
The material is loaded into the hopper from where it is fed by a conveyer belt onto the screen deck.
As the material moves over the star bed a „dancing action“ whereby the particles rub and grate against each other removing clay and loose materials and thereby cleaning the material as it is screened.
The small particles, eg clay will pass through the opening between the stars onto the side conveyor. Larger particles will
continue along the screen deck and onto the oversize belt. Particle sizes can easily be changed by increasing or decreasing
the speed of the screen deck.
Application attributes
Star screens are especially effective and put over other screen techniques if you make the following demands on the screen
process:
• Medium-heavy snatches in feeding until 350 mm angle
length
• A high wetness fraction
• Fraction on gluey inclusions
• High throughput at difficult to screen or so far not
screenable materials
• Clean oversized grain for after crushing
• High throughput
Productivity
Using a standard screen deck of 1.250 mm wide and 6.900 mm long outputs of up to 350 tons or 400 cubic metres per hour
can be achieved.

Neuenhauser star screen technology allows the recovery and use of previously unrecoverable materials using standard screening
technologies.
All materials in the quarry can now be processed and used.
Processing of this material through a star screen will result in a material being ideally prepared and presented for further processing by a crusher. Removal of the clay and grit will result in increased performance by the crusher as well as less wear and reduced
operating costs.
