Life Skills
12th August:
A Stitch in
Time…
Children had a great time learning to stitch a
button. The boys enjoyed thoroughly trying to
thread the needle. In the end they were very
proud of themselves.
MIND
MAPPING
Students had learnt the art of mind mapping.
Different topics were given to the groups and they came
out with interesting mind maps. A much needed life skill for them.
SUPW and
COMMUNITY
SERVICE
Our trip to the
school for the
visually impaired
was overwhelming.
It is rightly said that blind people
lack sight, not vision. We met
some great people who could do
as much, or probably even more
than we can do.
-
Udayvir
We all were truly surprised and inspired by the way they
were leading their lives in a simple way, doing things independently. We
saw them making candles, chocolates, handicrafts and they were also
running their own spa called “oorja”. We were glad to see their knowledge
of computers.
It taught us to be sensitive to people's needs.
Their sheer determination towards life was truly inspiring for us. This has
given us a new perspective on how we should face the challenges that life
has to offer.
We will cherish these memories for life!

In praise of Nature
Nature is life
she is the Sun,and the Moon;
even in the darkness,
she shows me the light.
Nature is everything,
she is the fish in the ocean,
and the birds in the sky;
she is the snake that crawls
and she is the mountain so high
Nature is my life!
Yes, Nature itself is life,
without her we will die;
so if today she is in trouble
so are you and I!
So let's save the planet!
Amarthya Dutta Gupta
When I think of nature,
A lot comes to my mind
So much of peace and beauty,
Where else can we find!
The lovely colours,
And scent of flowers
The silvery moon,
And the twinkling stars.
Nature provides us,
All the things we need
From food to shelter,
To the air we breath.
Let's not pollute the rivers,
And cut the trees
Let's conserve nature,
And live in peace!
Riya Bhalotra
Nature is serene, nature is
calm,
It holds everything in its
palm.
Trees, mountains, valleys
and rivers,
They are all our life
savers.
It shelters birds, humans
and animals,
And makes everything
very adaptable.
The sun and the moon are
part of its being,
They make mother nature
very appealing.
We must remember to
respect and cherish,
If we don't - nature shall
perish.
Kshitij Anand
Trees, bushes and greenery
Sun and Nature
Trees, bushes and greenery all around,
trunks and branches are mostly brown.
They provide us with medicine, wood and paper
trees do us a great favor.
They do so much for us,
but we as always make a fuss.
Trees are laden with fruits and flowers,
they clean the environment and bring showers.
Stop cutting trees, plant more and more,
'cause without them there is no life - for sure.
Oh my bright shining sun,
you look like a big orange bun.
A song rises in my heart and I feel young,
I see your eyes, your warmth and the day has
just begun.
I am lucky to see you and the sea,
and also the buzzy busy bee,
The mountains, rivers and forest green
which are here because you are not mean.
The cuckoo sings because of you
and the cats meow.
The lions, tigers and cheetahs roar,
because you never say 'NO MORE'.
When in the evening you say goodbye
the moon smiles and says 'Hi!'

Moonlight
Bright and shining in the night,
Glowing in a white light,
Twinkling stars all around,
Is where the moon is found.
As we stare up at the moonlit sky,
In the meadows as we lie,
The moon glows brightest amidst the stars,
And follows us as we go home in our cars.
In the morning, with the dawn of a new day,
The moon waits silently to find back its way.

FORM MORNINGS
To all my junior fellow Ramites,
Every wondered about a way to bond with over fifty people
at one go? I have, and I have lived the answer – a form
morning! A group activity; not just any activity, but a
prolonged one, stretched over many many days!
It’s a lovely experience: shedding your social awkwardness,
discovering how false your preconceived notions really are,
and above that – making a bunch of new, absolutely
spectacular friends. A change of air is always needed in
absolutely any realm of life, and what can be better than
coming across new, like-minded people?
Such a beautiful feeling to you look back, and realise how
time flew by every day! Seven hours never feels enough.
The feeling when you have a reason to wake up every
morning and look forward to those seven hours - unlike the
feeling when you dread those monotonous hours – is just
priceless. I personally would like time to be still, and be there
forever.
The role or part you play never really matters. Everyone is
important. Everyone is vital to the show. Long or short roles,
on stage or crew, technical or décor – you are assured of
forging beautiful relationships with beautiful people, of
making way for a place in your heart that you will cherish
forever.
As I move towards my graduation, I wish all of you many
golden form morning moments …
