My boyfriend and I stumbled upon this place in a sea of
expensive restaurants in Old Montreal this past March,
just when I was about to resign myself to a ho-hum
prix-fixe. It is not necessarily a cheap endeavour, but
it’s excellent value and gorgeous ambiance.
The food is delicious and I particularly liked that
champagne was incorporated into so many of the
dishes - my scallops had a champagne vinaigrette on
them, which was lovely. My fiancé and I decided to celebrate our engagement
so we planned our event with La Champagnerie, and
I must say we couldn’t have chosen any better place!
Everything went as smoothly and as wonderfully as we
had wanted it to be and even surpassed our hopes for
the night.
We celebrated my brother’s birthday at La
Champagnerie on Thanksgivings weekend and we had
a BLAST. We were a group of 14 people and we were
surprised with the service we got. The evening started
with a beautiful dinner service. The staff was paying
attention to us like we were the only people in the
place (but the place was full and everyone seemed to
be getting the same attention).
The best part about this place is the sword lessons: If
you order a bottle of champagne/sparkling wine, they
will teach you how to open it with a sword! Super fun to
watch, even if you’re not the one doing it. This was a cozy safe haven on surprisingly freezing
weekend that could have ended with an overpriced
meal in one of the nearby dreary-looking, curtained
restaurants. Instead, we had modern food, cocktails
and fun with all the charm and atmosphere of Old
Montreal.
Starting from organizing the event with a very
professional director to being there at the event, it was
an excellent experience dealing with staff who truly
care about you having the time of your life. They even
allowed us to play our own music, and we had a large
space for ourselves as the dance floor.
Our hostess was super attentive during the whole night
to anything we might need and everyone was polite
and friendly too! A wonderful experience overall and down to the
smallest detail! I highly recommend it if you want to host your event
and want your guests to spend a lovely time. The food was unbelievable! We didn’t expect much
from a place that is known for their bubbly and we were
pleasantly surprised. At the end of the dinner service,
they brought the whole table a dessert (offered on the
house) which was really a great touch.
We were then ready to PARTY and Partying we did.
The place got busy quickly. The DJ was ON FIRE!!! Our
entire group stayed until 3am which usually people
start leaving around 1... We hadn’t planned on staying
this late but we were having so much fun we forgot
what time it was.
We will definitely be retuning to try more of the food
on the menu. They also have a «special» menu that
changes weekly. Can’t wait to try it all!!
Highly recommend for an accessible but special
birthday or occasion, or for a nice night out.

I have organized a private event for my work company. The food was excellente, the service was extraordinary, the staff very good and the comments were all good. People
really enjoyed their night and told us it was one of the greatest event. With «La Champagnerie» everything is possible, they will make you a special night with everything you
would like to have. They are listening to all the demands/requests and as a customers this is very important. They know how to give an excellent service to their guests. Thanks
