As chairman of Omagh District Council, it gives me great pleasure to introduce
to you the 2013 edition of Omagh Town Centre Shopping, Hospitality and Events
Guide. Omagh has evolved into a retail destination in the West, where major High
Street names complement the long established boutique and specialist family run
businesses which are unique to Omagh and have been the cornerstone in the local
economy.
This guide includes a map of the town, together with useful information and a list
of town centre events.
We hope you find this guide both useful and helpful during your visit to Omagh. We

Omagh’s Town Centre is the focal point for shopping and hospitality, with an
array of independent retailers and national stores providing something for
everyone.
A visit to our compact town centre will reveal a range of independent and specialist
shops which are true gems unique to Omagh. The town centre boasts a large
selection of coffee shops, restaurants, pubs, places to relax and meet up with friends
old and new. Safe, secure parking in convenient car parks around the town centre
ensure a pleasurable visit for all.
The Showgrounds Retail Park is accessed from High Street via Bridge Street and
hosts a range of national retailers just a stroll from the town centre. Great Northern
Retail Park, located by the through-pass, has a number of national retailers and
complements the mix of independent retailers and multi-national shops along the
Dromore Road.

The first phase of the Riverside Walkway and Cycle Path is now open. The path runs
from the Strule Arts Centre to Abbey Bridge and is a quick and convenient route
from the town centre to the Showgrounds Retail Park.

Strule Arts Centre
This state-of-the-art building, located in the heart of Omagh is a nucleus for
music, theatre, comedy, dance performances, talks, workshops, education
events, films and exhibitions.
Used by touring professional companies, musicians, amateur dramatics
and community groups, Strule Arts Centre has staged international acts,
acclaimed drama productions, and yet also provides a space for young people
to develop their musical and artistic talents, for adults to learn to draw, write,
dance, relax and be entertained.
Strule Arts Centre runs an extensive and dynamic year-round events calendar,
and programmes first-class touring theatre, music, comedy, dance and
