THE JOURNEY
Recently Thabzero was chosen as a finalist in the
Jack Daniels Music Scouts competition of 2015,
beating out 6000 other hopeful contestants. He
used this as an opportunity to break into the music
industry and his popularity has since been growing
on social media and amongst his peers.
`Having been in the hip hop game for over 5 years,
he is described as a Storyteller, relating the trials
and tribulations of everyday life. He comes with his
own unique sound which appeals to individuals who
are at the young adult stage of their lives.
He draws inspiration from local artists such as
Proverb, Pro, skwatta Kamp just to name a few.
His well rounded and diversified sound makes
his music appalling to both urban as well as Kasi
hip hop communities
This diversity in his music provides many
opportunities for associated brands and
sponsors to appeal to a number of different
demographics and musical crowds
Thabzero Released his first EP on his birthday 31 march
2016 which he described as the first attempts in the hip
hop game as when you play a game on a machine you
firstly insert a coin.
The first token EP is inspired by true life events in the
life of Thabiso Mkhize and the ep takes the listener
trough a story that they can relate to as it happens in
peoples daily lives.
The EP reached 30k plus downloads within 3 days, then
the ep was officially launched on the 2nd may 2016 at
Danish lounge in Soweto. He later released a single
titled “whoz Dat(Uthabzero)” which hit 50k downloads
within a week which was overwhelming results for a
new independent artist.
Thabzero will be releasing his music video which he shot
in his hometown in umlazi soon. As he is currently on
the first token EP Tour which will be going around south
Africa.
Thabzero was featured on a couple of radio stations like: YFM on dj
speedsta’s show the hip hop floor as the come up kid, Eldos FM,
transafrica, alex FM and featured on Publication Medias like Hype
Magazine(New comers Delight), Daily sun, City Buzz Newspaper and
Hype Avenue. Shared a stage with: Mapaputsi, Bruno(Rhythm city) Ray
Zaka, Mthinay Tsunam, FSF and more. As the journey continues.
