Wall of Honor Supports Life Saving Work at Mission Breast Health Services Breast cancer patients and survivors, daughters, husbands, clinical professionals, teens and preschool children are among the hundreds of people who supported the 12th Annual “THINK PINK” Breast Health Wall of Honor at the Shops at Mission Viejo during the month of October in 2014. With the leadership of Chair Mary Miyamoto and her committee, the Wall of Honor raised more than $58,000 in net proceeds to support the women of our community. Money raised at the event goes to support underserved women in our community with diagnostic testing and treatment. Title Sponsor Infiniti of Mission Viejo displayed a wrapped, hot pink Infiniti QX80 near the Wall of Honor drawing much attention from visitors. A display board encouraged visitors to use #breasthealth when tweeting their photos with the car on social media. Bright pink daisy decals led guests from the car to the Wall of Honor which was filled with honor card messages of hope, love and joy. Shoppers were encouraged to underwrite mammograms at $100 or to celebrate a loved one with an honor card message for $25. Special edition Power of Pink bracelets from Brighton Collectibles were available for purchase, as well as hand-knit scarves from a cancer survivors knitting support group at Mission Hospital. Educational and fundraising events were hosted throughout the month to support the Wall of Honor, including a trunk show at Marbella Country Club, in-store events at Brighton Collectibles featuring genetic counselor Sandra Brown and a tennis tournament called “Tennis and Tacos for Ta Ta’s” presented by the Chang Family Foundation and Lululemon. 152 volunteers donated a total of 448 hours raising $58,000 Year after year Wall of Honor volunteers describe the warm wishes, gratitude and touching stories shared by people who make donations. Valiant Women is so appreciative of every dollar donated and every volunteer hour served. Thank you for sharing your Spirit of Giving with Mission Hospital.
