A. – Alubrasil. 1950: becomes the first producer of primary aluminum on industrial scale in the Southern Hemisphere, after acquiring Elquisa - Eletroquímica Brasileira S.A. 1960s: Alumínio do Brasil S. A. – Alubrasil starts to be called Alcan Alumínio do Brasil S. A. – Alcan Brasil and uncovers a huge bauxite reserves in the Amazon, within the Porto Trombetas region, State of Para. Also creates the Aratu industrial complex, in the State of Bahia. 1979: Inauguration of Mineração Rio do Norte S. A. – MRN. “Circa” 1984: Installation of the rolling mill for production of cable foil. 2000´s: Incorporation of Alcan Composites Brasil S.
