Pfeiffer syndrome is a rare craniofacial syndrome that mainly affects the growth and
development of the skull and facial bones. The bones in the skull fuse prematurely,
called craniosynostosis, causing an abnormal shaped head; and the bones in the midface are underdeveloped, causing the eyes to be wide set and appear larger.
