Greetings Gearheads from Cold(13 degrees tonite as I
am writing this) & Snowy (possible1-3”) Detroit!! I am up here
at the 2010 AUTORAMA with Paul Shauck as preps and shows
his 33 Ford Coupe at the Detroit Autorama. More on that
later.
BIG NEWS from the Shades of the Past Rod Run.
They are moving the show from the Smoky River Ranch where
it has been held for many years. The 2010 edition will be held
at the DOLLYWOOD Splash Mountain Water Park parking lot.
HUGE parking lot!! No more dust & mud. For more info check
your pre-registration that you recently got in your mailbox or
check out the Shades of the Past website for lots more info
and hotel pricing and packages.
Good Luck to Mark & Rhonda Delk. They will be
heading up to Chicago to attend the Chicago World of Wheels
Rod & Custom car show. They have got their 1969 BOSS 302
Mustang looking extra good and are ready to show it off at
one of the bigger car shows in the country. Kick Butt!!!

Can any of the Gearheads in Middle Tn tell me if
there will be a NSRA Appreciation day in Nashville this year?
Normally it is in Mid April at HUNTERS CUSTOM AUTO.
Have not heard or seen anything on this so if you know
something please share it as Gearheads are asking.
It was good to see some of you Gearheads at the
STONES RIVER AACA Swap meet this past February. The
Swap meet looked full inside for the most part and a good
number of vendors outside too. Based on info there, the
STONES RIVER guys and gals say there will be a 2011 version
of the swap meet at the Tennessee State Fairgrounds. It
looks like we will have another swap meet too, out in the
Wilson County area around the same time in 2011 also. We will
post the info for you on both of these events later in the
year. The good thing is, we will have swap meets!!
Be sure to check out the “COOL HAPPENINGS IN
YOUR GARAGE” Section. I have thrown in some photos from
the Detroit Autorama on set up days. Yes I said days as it
takes way more than 1 to get this one set up. Enjoy the pics!!

As I said at the start of this column, I am up in
Detroit at the 2010 AUTORAMA with Paul Shauck. Paul has
finished his 1933 FORD Coupe and we are on tour with it so to
speak.. After the AUTORAMA we will head to Chicago for the
World of Wheels show there. From there we will head back to
Nashville and show the Coupe at the Hunters Custom car
show.
Pauls car is looking good as you will be able to see
elsewhere in this issue. He is one of 30 cars showing for the
first time ever in Detroit!!! Good luck to Paul!!
Having been part of and having been to many indoor
Car Shows over the years, the AUTORAMA is impressive. Not
just because we are showing a car, but how the Michigan Hot
Rod Assoc (MHRA) runs this show. 1st thing, you don’t just
show up at the back door to bring your car in. You have a
“SCHEDULED” time to arrive and be let in. You wont get in
early…trust me. Folks…IT WORKS!! They have to do this as
when you are packing over 800 cars in one building, it takes a
whole lot of coordination and more than 1 day.
Talk about the cream of the crop in Hot Rods,
Customs, Trucks, Bikes and a WHOLE LOT MORE as they say.
It’s here. Add in the who’s Who of the world of HOT
RODDING and you have a REALLY BIG time breaking out.
I could go on and on, but I won’t. Suffice to say that
this is a really cool experience, that doesn’t come along very
often. Kind of like one of the “BUCKET LIST” things you need
to do at least once. I highly recommend it as it SOOOO
BITCHINNNNNN!!!!!

I have been repeatedly asked when are we going to start up the Franklin area Cars & Coffee for 2010? My

suggestion is to come out for coffee twice a month, the 2 Saturday & 4 Saturday of each month starting in March.
That way if you can’t make it one Saturday you don’t have to wait an entire month before there is another one. To that
end I have formulated the following calendar for 2010.
I thought it would be advisable to get the schedule out so people could mark their calendars and make plans to
attend. Please forward the schedule to other Classic Car Fans that are not on the list.

Greetings I am Blake Nathan, a Junior attending The Tennessee State University from Stone Mountain, GA, Majoring in
Aeronautical and Industrial Technology with a concentration in Aviation Flight with aspirations to become a private pilot and a
secondary education math teacher. Throughout life individuals have dreams and goals to accomplish and with that said, I Blake
Nathan is campaigning to become the next Student Government Association Vice President for the 2010-2011 academic school
years. I have already developed a platform and a theme for my campaign. My platform is D.R.I.V.E, which stands for
Developing Recruitment by Increasing Visibility through Execution. The theme for the week is TSU 500 (NASCAR) and with this
theme I am trying to center all my events around cars and racing below is a schedule of the events that I am doing and as you
can see Tuesday April 6, 2010 at the Field House parking lot located on campus; I’m trying to have a car show where we have
cars that are showcased to the students. My campaign team is trying to have at least ten cars and there will be food and music
