The following 9-12th grade World Language Spanish Maps include the following:
1. Interdisciplinary Connections are integrated throughout activities in the curriculum map. These connections include
but are not limited to the following:
• Art-Spanish artists
• Science-body parts, temperature, weather
• World History-history of 20 Spanish-speaking nations
• Mathematics-numbers, addition, shapes, time
• Music-various types of genre, famous Spanish artists/musicians
• Business-occupations, money, interviews.
• Technology- power point presentations, iPad
• English-grammar, vocabulary, authors, writing skills
• Physical Education-daily routine, exercise, body parts, sports
2. Integration of 21Century Skills are integrated through all activities for the
standards 9.1and 9.3. Critical thinking and Problem Solving are listed in the header of the section of map where each
standard is addressed. Activities include but are limited to the following:
• Problem solving skills-presentations
• Brainstorming-verb/vocabulary recollection
• Gathering material from diff sources-Cultural readings
• Collaboration-pair work, group work, group projects
• Communication skills-presentations, understanding diff cultural backgrounds
• Digital Media-ipads, school4one, drop box, Apple TV, School Media Center, Phones
• Workplace-career evaluation, career interviews, presentations, newscast
3. Modifications for students in special education In-Class Support Classes are based on each student's individual IEPs.
Modifications below are included but not limited to the following:
