Australian Ramp Design is recognised as a world class leader in the design, construction, engineering and
production for all types of Skateboarding, BMX, Inline and Freestyle Moto X ramps.
Highly commended for its professional development of weather resistant, cost
effective, fully portable and interchangeable galvanized steel and HARD long life
ramps as well as its involvement in the Gravity H2O, Globe World Cup, 1800
Reverse Street Active, Billabong Channel V and Crusty Demon Tours. ARD's ramps
are applauded by some of the worlds most important and respected action sport
athletes including Bucky Lasek (Skate), Sandro Diaz (Skate), Renton Miller (Skate),
Cam White (BMX), Seth Enslow (FMX), Double Backflipper Cam Sinclair (FMX) and
the current World Record Motocross Long Distance Jump holder Robbie Maddison.
ARD works all over Australia and across the globe in Action Sport events and park
construction projects including Malaysia, China, Korea, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Tahiti,
New Caledonia, New Zealand, Singapore and Dubai to name a few. ARD has a
unique work method of consulting athletes, engineers and are specialist consultants
in Occupational Health and Safety and event production to produce the safest and
most effective outcomes for each project.
THE EVOLUTION
Australian Ramp Design was formed in 2001 as the result of a demand for qualified tradespeople with a keen
knowledge and participant's understanding of action sports to design and build ramps for events, councils and
skate parks.
The Director of Australian Ramp Design, Dion Kirk has been involved in the industry since 1995, he has
overseen the development of numerous skate parks including Australia’s largest and world class standard
Monster Skate park located at Sydney Olympic Park, Homebush. For more information go to
www.monsterpark.com.au. He has also managed the construction and activation of Guiness World Records in
Motor Cross and Mountain Bike, working with the biggest names in each discipline.
Dion Kirk moved on to develop a new world class system of design and construction for portable ramps specific
to each and every project whether on land, in water or even snow.
EVENT PRODUCTION & EVENT SERVICES
A core aspect of ARD's business has been Event Production for a range of activities on behalf of sports
marketing and commercial organisations and the Australian Sport Commission.
Event production includes ramp hire, bump in/out through to complete turn key services including show
production, marketing and media partnerships. This includes the 2002 – 2004 landmark “1800 Reverse” Street
Active Tour created by the Australian Sports Commission to facilitate coaching clinics in Skateboarding, Inline
Skating and BMX in each capital city throughout Australia.
STUNT CO-ORDINATION
SCARD or stunt co ordination of ARD was formed in 2007 and consists of ARD's touring operation. It focuses on
events, logistics and athlete management. SCARD offers a full turnkey solution for your event and event
production from ramp hire or sales, bump in/out through to marketing and media partnership. SCARD have
performed choreographed skate, FMX, BMX, snow and water shows worldwide, consisting of ESPN Asian X
games from 2005 through to our 6 month show in Shenyang china for the world horticultural expo.
SCARD has access to the best freestyle athletes throughout the world. The best of the best have all ridden
ARD's ramps around the world and highly approve of them.
SCARD through ARD has developed systems to ensure the highest standard of ramp design, construction and
erection through consultation with leading practitioners in relevant fields including risk management.

whether permanent or portable. Keeping safety as our first and foremost priority, we also pride ourselves on
progressing with these fast and ever changing action sports.

specific standard or model for construction or event production in this area, ARD have developed systems to
satisfy the stringent needs of every organisation with which it has worked whether it be a Council or Private

ARD has created and uses a specially designed surface for all its ramps known as HARD ramp surface.
It is a smooth, fast and low maintenance product once installed. Councils Australia wide regularly purchase HARD ramp
surface to sheet there local skate parks and Due to the low maintenance and being water, fire and graffiti proof it's an easy
decision for them when it comes to that stage of the project.
HARD ramp surface also comes in a textured finish. ARD uses these sheets on its FMX kicker's and down ramps, it grips
the most out of any surface on the market and is the envy of its competitors. Riders also prefer to ride on HARD ramp
surface for its grip and can hit the ramp in any condition with the peace of mind knowing they are not going to experience
any wheel spin or wash out once they hit the ramp.
