It all kicks off at 5 pm as you pass through the Palisades portal and enter the FUN ZONE! Popular Legacy Park Band, One by Monday, will get us started at 5 pm, followed by the one and only, Michael Ruddell, Superstar Master of Ceremonies who will take center stage at 6 pm, entertaining us and leading us through activities, fun and games and a night to remember! Come down early so you won’t miss a second of the experience. The attractions run from 5 pm to 9 pm, and the line up for this year includes: Bungee Run, Wild One Obstacle Course, Spinning Kaleidoscope Swing, Giraffe Bounce, Shoot n’ Shower, Gladiator Joust, and a Golf driving range just to name a few! There’s even a Little Tykes Village for our youngest guests! The food choices are better than ever so bring your appetite. At 9:30 pm, Legacy Park resident Bob Jones will WOW us with his rendition of The National Anthem and at 9:35 pm, the BEST fireworks display in all of North Georgia will wrap up our celebration with a bang! This event would not be possible without the generous donations from our sponsors: Dayco Systems, Resurgens Orthopaedics, Legacy Pest Control, and Dr. Davis at Wellpath Center. And keep an eye out for our Grand Opening Announcement! Landscaping Tips for July from Hutcheson Horticultural Company Legacy Park’s Own Landscaper 770-924-1001 18 • Mow, trim and edge lawn areas • Prune shrubs as needed • Inspect trees, shrubs and turf for insect and disease (Treat as necessary) • Continue flower maintenance (Deadheading, fertilization and weeding as necessary) • Apply post-emergent to control weeds as necessary • Check and adjust irrigation system • Hydroseed lovegrass and warm season grasses Written Approval So it’s time for a new roof. You look around and see different roof colors and think to yourself, “I don’t need written approval." But you do. Any changes to the color, the look, or the type of roof requires prior written approval from the Architectural Review Committee. Your door is rotting away and you always wanted a new door with a glass insert. You think “anything is better than this plain old door, so I don’t need approval.” Yes you do. You decide that most of your grass is gone in your front lawn and needs to be replaced. Seeding seems like the way to go, but you cannot seed the front lawn, no Bermuda seed, no Rye grass in the fall, only sod in the front yard. Bermuda or Zoysia are the only two approved types of sod. If you do seed, it will soon be apparent that the front yard was not properly sodded and then you will have to start all over. Also, you decide that you can’t grow grass in the front, so you might as well make it a complete mulch/flowerbed. However, a minimum green space in the front yard must be maintained. This space, 10 feet wide, is required from lot line to lot line and sidewalk (or curb where there is no sidewalk) to the front of the house including the entire street exposure of corner lots. If the trees are the problem, they need to be limbed up. However, sometimes they cause more problems than just shade: invasive roots, rodents climbing them and getting into the attic when they are too close to the house, and the list goes on. Then it may be time to have them removed. If this is the case, first go to Public Works and complete the tree removal form, wait for the approval from the City and then come to the HOA for written approval to remove the tree. When you are getting your home power washed either because it is in need of it or you are in the process of getting it painted, please look at your driveway. Many are in need of power washing. They are full of mold from being in the shade and need a good wash. Ask the company to do that as well and try to save a few dollars by getting them to give you a better rate for it all. And THANK YOU to all the homeowners who are going the extra mile and taking care of their homes, yards and everything in between. Driving down the streets we see so many home projects going on and that’s what keeps Legacy Park looking current and fresh. Just remember ….GET IT APPROVED!
