Planet Fitness facilities are independently owned and operated. ©Planet Fitness 2 Looking for Volunteers, Event Ideas and Partners for OKT 2016 The Shiawassee Regional Chamber of Commerce created Oktoberfest in 2014 to celebrate the spirit of friendship and to honor Shiawassee County’s heritage and agricultural traditions. Oktoberfest has experienced tremendous growth over the last few years. The OKT 2016 planning committee is seeking new volunteers, ideas, sponsors and partnering organizations/businesses for the upcoming event. What’s in it for volunteers? Weekend admission to the event, an official Oktoberfest volunteer t-shirt, the chance to meet new people, have a great time and support the Shiawassee Regional Chamber of Commerce! What’s in it for partnering organizations/businesses? The OKT venue provides organizations the opportunity to market to a few thousand folks that are spending the weekend in the county. Events such as the Bed Race in 2015 raised awareness and money for the Shiawassee Homeless Coalition. The Chamber welcomes new events to be part of the fun, festive atmosphere of OKT 2016.
