The Hamilton Waterfront Trust LEARN-TO-SKATE PROGRAM Adults - - Ages 19 and over January 3 - February 21, 2015 Saturdays 10 am to 11 am Hamilton Waterfront Outdoor Rink - Pier 8 What? is the skating program? The Hamilton Waterfront Trust skating lessons are a learn-to-skate program designed for beginners of all ages. The program focuses on the development of basic ice skating skills while promoting fun and participation. The Hamilton Waterfront Trust offers the citizens of Hamilton this unique opportunity to learn and participate in healthy physical activity. The basic skills being taught include balance, forward and backward skating, stopping, turning, jumping, etc. Participants in the program have the opportunity to receive badges based on each skill they have achieved. The Hamilton Waterfront Trust Learn-to-Skate Program will be taught by a professional coach as well as a number of trained program assistants. We are offering our program at a cost of $100 for the entire 8 week program (weather permitting). All participants must wear skates, CSA approved hockey helmets and appropriate clothing for the weather conditions. IMPORTANT INFORMATION EVERY Saturday morning at 9am check our website at www.hamiltonwaterfront.com to see if classes will be running. Reasons why we may not be running are inclement weather and/or unsatisfactory rink conditions. Who? can participate? The Hamilton Waterfront Trust skating program is suitable for those just learning how to skate. Adults ages 19 and over are encouraged to join and develop basic ice skating skills in a fun and supportive environment. When? do classes take place? The 8 week program will take place every Saturday morning from 10am - 11am beginning January 3, 2015 and running until February 21, 2015 (weather permitting). Dates are as follows: January 3, 10, 17, 24, 31 February 7, 14, 21 make up date is February 28 Where? are classes held? Classes will be held at the Hamilton Waterfront outdoor ice rink on Pier 8, located at the foot of James St. North at 57 Discovery Drive (behind Williams Fresh Cafe). How? can you participate? In order to participate in the program complete the application form located on the back of this brochure and return it, along with the $100 registration fee to the Hamilton Waterfront Trust located at 47 Discovery Drive (2nd Floor, above Williams Fresh Cafe). No refunds will be given once program commences. Be sure to register early as participation is limited!
