We’ll help you choose the basic elements of your steam shower in three easy steps. Once you’ve
determined the size of your shower, it’s just a matter of choosing the generator and control kit
that work best in your space and provide the right experience.
1. Determine your steam generator size
Calculate the shower’s cubic footage (cubic feet = width x height x depth). Recommended ceiling height is 8' or less.

Our standard steam generators are available in multiple sizes and are UL Listed for your safety. KOHLER® Fast-Response steam generators
produce steam in the shower within one minute of pushing the power button. The Fast-Response units also have the Power Clean feature,
which allows the user to activate an automatic cleaning function to ensure proper, safe maintenance of the steam generator. At the touch of
a button, sediment is flushed out of the generator through the steam head, instead of the manual flushing required on the standard steam
generators. Fast-Response steam generators are required if using the DTV® II digital platform.
3. Select a finish for the control kit
Control kits for KOHLER steam generators consist of a control and steam head. The control regulates time, temperature, on/off and the
Power Clean function. The steam head is where steam is released from the generator into the shower. With a control kit, it's easy to match
your choice of faucet finishes.

Acrylic with Resin Concrete Core
CleanCoat Surface Treatment
A high-gloss material used in the manufacture
of select KOHLER® shower bases and shower
stalls, acrylic resists chipping and offers an
easy-to-clean surface and rich color.
A shower base material constructed of
high-gloss acrylic featuring a resin concrete
core for mortarless installation and solid feel
under foot.
A shower door surface treatment that
makes it easier to remove hard water spots
by creating a protective barrier that repels
water and prevents dirt and water minerals
from collecting.

Digital Interface
Diverter Valve
Our precision-engineered digital thermostatic
valve (DTV) that can run up to eight different
showering components with six ports, and it
delivers up to 21 gallons of water per minute.
An intuitive electronic control that allows you
to operate and customize your digital shower
experience at the touch of a button.
A valve that directs water to multiple
outlets, such as to the bath faucet or the
showerhead, allowing you to control separate
components with just one valve. Unlike a
transfer valve, diverter valves do not allow
you to run two water components at once.
This valve can be used with a Rite-Temp®
®
®
pressure-balancing valve or thermostatic
and volume control valves.

A material made in part with recycled iron
that is poured into castings, cooled to a
solid state and then reheated, covered with

for a deeper sense of an exhilarating massage.
Kotton, one of the flow options on Flipside

Semi-Frameless vs. Frameless
The Rite-Temp® pressure-balancing
valve lets you precisely control your water
temperature – 3 degrees of handle rotation
changes the temperature by 1°F. If the hot
or cold water supply is interrupted, the valve
will automatically reduce the water flow.
An oversized showerhead typically installed
with a ceiling showerarm or used with
HydroRail™-R shower column. KOHLER®
rainheads feature Katalyst® air-induction
technology and deliver a powerful, thoroughly
drenching shower experience.
A semi-frameless door has a metal frame
mounted to some of the edges of the glass,
adding structure. On a frameless door,
heavier, thicker glass eliminates the need for
structural framing and creates a sleek,
contemporary look.

Our MasterShower® stacked thermostatic
valve pairs volume and temperature control
into one assembly for precise control and a
clean, simple design. A 104°F comfort setting
and 120°F high-temperature stop limit provide
safety and flexibility. The one-piece forged
brass body is built to last and eliminates
potential leak paths.
