2013 2014 EVENTS CALENDAR & Sponsorship Opportunities Guide NEWARK REGIONAL BUSINESS PARTNERSHIP Dear NRBP Member: “The only thing that is constant is change.” That phrase, or some variation, has been attributed to an ancient Greek philosopher, a French classical author and an American scientist. More important than its origin is its appropriateness for describing what NRBP and our members experience every day. For NRBP, 2013 has been a year of transformation in a number of ways. Most visible are our new logo, new and improved website, increased engagement through social media and our blog, and Connect to Newark Tours that allowed our members a close-up view of landmarks and activities in the City’s wards. Our programs brought fresh events and partner organizations to the table while much of the content focused on business issues faced by our members (health insurance changes, web site enhancements and “going green”) and unprecedented development taking place in Newark (Panasonic’s move, Prudential’s new tower and the neighborhood metamorphosis at Teachers Village). Change will continue to be the watchword for NRBP next year as we offer new and different ways to connect, such as The “Art” of Networking and Oktoberfest! This sponsorship guide and calendar offers a glimpse of what is in store in 2014 and how your company can gain visibility while providing meaningful support for NRBP’s mission. It’s a worthwhile planning document but just scratches the surface of what NRBP can do for you and to improve the economic vitality of the Newark region. Please let us know what you are interested in and how we can help you achieve your goals. The issues, individuals and trends will vary with business conditions in the year ahead but the “constant” is NRBP’s dedication to its loyal members and our desire to respond to your needs. One on one introductions, informative events, interesting dialogue and strong advocacy is what we’re all about. That will not change and we thank you for your time, energy, ideas and resources that make us a more vibrant and valuable organization. Call…email… attend…sponsor…tweet…follow…they’re all ways that we look to communicate with you in our earnest mission…Connecting Business for a Greater Newark. Frank E.
