Kilsaran International, a leading manufacturer of paving and concrete products, was proud to have been one of the main suppliers of both the external cladding and paving materials to the new Chic Outlet Shopping® Villages by Value Retail, located in the stunning Kildare Village approximately 1 hour from Dublin Centre. supplier of their Ceresit CT174 Render combined with a bespoke Ceresit CT48 Silicone Paint to meet the architects specification. This wasn`t the only specialist element to the project as the Ceresit render system provided by Kilsaran has a few unique qualities that help make it a stand out choice. Kildare Village, one of nine Chic Outlet Shopping® Villages across Europe, offers luxury outlet boutiques such as; Anya Hindmarch, Brooks Brothers, Cath Kidston, Furla, Lulu Guinness, Pandora and Wolford. The overall specification for the facades used a Magnesium Silicate-Render Carrier Board coated with Kilsaran`s Ceresit CT87 Base-coat with reinforcing glass fibre mesh. This 4mm ultra-thin light weight base coat has great waterproofing properties as well as being super flexible. The Chic Outlet Village is designed to give the shopper a charming open-air ‘village’ setting creating a luxurious shopping experience and an enjoyable day out for its visitors. The village style design and unique shopping atmosphere is enhanced by the stunning buildings that have been beautifully designed by the design team, Lyons + Sleeman + Hoare Architects. The attention to detail to get this scheme to the high standards demanded by the client is one of the main attributes to the charm and character of this project. The architect specified bespoke colour facades throughout the village and Kilsaran were delighted to have been chosen as preferred +353(0)1802 6300 [email protected] This was then perfectly partnered with Ceresit CT174 Render and the bespoke Ceresit CT48 Silicone Paint. The CT174 render has a Silicatesilicone textured finish which makes this system well suited to projects were there needs to be long term durability and a low maintenance programs due to either access or cost. The products and services from Kilsaran didn’t stop with just the facades. Brendan Condron, Kilsaran`s Specification Manager for Ireland states - “Kilsaran were also brought on-board to help with the design and specification of the hard landscaping to the car park and main footpaths Product: Streetscape: • 3:1 Sand & Cement • HSBC • Priming Slurry • Rapid Set Jointing Mortar Paving Products: • Clima Pave Slane • Mellifont Render System: • Render Carrier Board • Ceresit CT87 Reinforcing Mortar • CT325 Reinforcing Mesh • Ceresit CT174 Silicate-Silicone Render • Ceresit CT48 Silicone Paint • Masonary Mortar www.kilsaran.ie around the village. The specification for the footpaths was for a natural stone, we took this opportunity to offer our superb range of Streetscape bedding and mortar materials. The car park saw the specification for over 5000sqm of Kilsaran`s Clima-pave Slane 200x100x80mm in the popular Charcoal and Curragh gold. A permeable paving system has many added benefits, continues Brendan. Permeable paving (Clima-pave) helps eliminates flood water retention, awkward puddles and hazardous patches of ice meaning the area can be used in all climatic conditions with confidence. Another large benefit to using permeable paving is the reduction in the maintenance schedule, there is significantly less weed growth with a permeable paving system over conventional paving. This in turn helps to save time and money over the whole life cycle of the project, something that the client was very keen on, a sustainable public space that would stay looking chic for a long time”. With a reputation for high quality, competitive products and best in class support and guidance, it was an easy decision for Collen Construction to use Kilsaran products and work with the design team Lyons + Sleeman + Hoare Architects, helping to develop relationships that all parties will enjoy over the years to come. The Permeable paving design for the car park was as followed; • 80mm Clima-pave Slane, Curragh Gold and Charcoal • 50mm of 2-6.3mm Grit (Bedding Material) • 350mm of 20-4mm CGA (Coarse Graded Aggregate) • Geotextile membrane for more images of the project go to, Flickr www.flickr.com/photos/kilsaran_international +353(0)1802 6300 [email protected] www.kilsaran.ie
