Nowadays the Vietri Ceramic Group is constituted by: Ceramica di Vietri Francesco De
Maio; Ceramica Vietri Antico; Antiche Fornaci D’Agostino; Ce. Vi. Ceramica Vietrese,
it’s an important reference into the entrepreneurial world of the “ Made in Italy”.
The main products of the societies of the Vietri Ceramic Group are beautifully hand
decorated tiles, the ancient Vietrese riggiola for floor and wall and for ceramic
complements.
The characteristic of all these manufactured items is the handcraft used for every single
product. The ancient technique of manual decoration on handmade supports in double fire
and natural “terracotta”.
This kind of production can be found in: the Ceramica of Vietri Francesco De Maio,
Ce.Vi. Ceramica Vietrese and Ceramica Vietri Antico, where is used an industrial support
too, as well as in Antiche Fornaci D’Agostino; the tiles are produced on industrial single
fire support, using handcraft glazes.

The firm leader of the family treasures is the Ceramica di Vietri Francesco De Maio, founded in 1963.
The company has respected the tradition of skilful artisan handcraft decorated “riggiole”, rich in
colors and sizes.
Resuming the ancient traditions of Vietrese art, it proposes themes of Byzantine, Arabic,
Renaissance but above all themes of Neapolitan Baroque which has decorated and furnished many
noble abodes, monasteries and churches along the Mediterranean coasts.
Respecting his cultural inheritance, the company Ceramica Francesco De Maio has worked for
decades in this sector, with a production of incomparable value, techniques and glazes, from
generations to generations.
All decorations are preformed by hand on raw enamel, according to ancient formulas, with an
exclusive mineral mixture and a particular type of white sand named “Bianco Vietri”, is inherited
from father to son.
The Ce.Vi. Ceramica Vietrese characterises its production of its beautifully hand decorated tiles,
which bring back the Neapolitan style.
In fact the famous Collection Ottocento Napoletano was born between the fishing village and the
narrow streets of the villages deeply inside the heart and soul of the city of Naples.

Ceramica Vietri Antico is the ceramic of brightness and brilliance for the light and colors of its tiles.
Its production has a lot sizes, adorned with bright colors on which flutter graceful decorations.
The white "Schiuma di Mare", obtained grinding sand of the local coast, remembers the
transparency of the waves breaking on the shore. On this white, with the addition of natural
pigments, emerges a wide variety of the colors of the sea: from Verde Smeraldo to Acquamarina,
etc ... The collections " Fondali" and " Giochi d’Acqua " represent a turning point of Ceramica Vietri
Antico for the New Millennium. A new product, faithful to the ancient production. The support is
semi-manual, artisanal glazes overlapping and intertwining, give rise to the play of light, depth
and inimitable reliefs, tiles different from each other. Each one a unique piece.
It was born in 1823 and is spread in an area of ​great charm and ancient ceramic tradition.
From Antiche Fornaci D'Agostino bricks were produced for the first railway tunnel of Italy built by
the Bourbon kings. An important inheritance which can not be ignored, a wealth of technical
knowledge, creative wisdom, the company pays attention to the support on which is put a big range
of glazes and ceramic colors. But to have its own history does not mean it has its own identity.
For this reason with these specific strategies the company interprets the past by seeking harmony
between tradition and innovation with a creative space, directing the entire industrial research.
The strenght of the actual production is the Magmaker ® support in clay and volcanic lava of
Vesuvius, available in different sizes, on which are applied glazes and colors that preserve that
typical artisan appearance of the Vietri ceramic tradition.
