HISTORY KZUM was founded in 1978 by a small group of citizens who saw the need for independent, non-commercial radio in Lincoln. Beginning with just a handful of programmers and a few hours of daily air time, KZUM has now grown to a 24/7 broadcast schedule—available worldwide and powered by more than 90 volunteer programmers and three paid staff members.
